Hi.. My Mac got stuck while updating to Macos Bigsur.. I spoke to apple support and they guide me to have an external drive as spacious as my data would be, so that i can have my data safe. Somehow i manage it to convert it in to the same format while using ..Shift +Option+Command+ R.. and then to utility..i did all the back up.. Now could you please guide me.. 1- Next- How to erase my Mac Internal memory 2- Next- Then to download MAcos 3- How to transfer data from my external Hard drive to my Mac, so that my mac would be the same as it was. While doing this process, should i use my Hard drive intact ? I would appreciate your prompt response.
If you have already made a backup of all the data to an external hard drive, you are ok to erase the internal hard drive and install the macos. Just to be on safe side, connect the hard drive to a pc and check and verify that you have all the data backed up successfully. Then to install macos, follow this video, but, press only “COMMAND +R” while you restart to enter into recovery mode. Once you complete the macos installation, connect the hard drive to your mac and copy all the data back again. 🙂👍

can you please try pressing “command + R” while you restart to boot in recovery mode.
Yes I tried that also but it's not working too..my Mac getting restart again n again n I can't go to any recovery mode..
Can you please try these steps and again try to open in recovery mode:
A. Reset NVRAM: (discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3604)
2. Shut the Mac down (press and hold power button for 10 sec);
3. Now press the Command, Option, R, P keys for at least 20 seconds (sometimes 30 might produce better results);
4. Your Mac should restart automatically and if it gets past the loading screen then the problem is solved.
B. Reset SMC
To rest a Mac’s SMC, follow these steps:
1. Shut the Mac down, usually by pressing the power button
2. Now press the Shift, Control, Option keys at the same time
3. Then while still pressing those keys, hold the Power button at the same time for 10 seconds
4. Finally, release all of the keys at the same time and then press the Power button again to start the Mac for a second time.
C. Diagnostic Test (support.apple.com/en-au/HT202731)
1. Turn on your Mac, then immediately press and hold the D key on your keyboard as your Mac starts up.
2. Release when you see a progress bar or you're asked to choose a language.
Then press “command + R” while you restart to open in recovery mode.
Hi still I'm facing same issue I tried all ur tricks but still I'm facing same issue like Apple logo comes and no loading bar and restart again..in loop
My Macbook pro model no is A1990
1- Next- How to erase my Mac Internal memory
2- Next- Then to download MAcos
3- How to transfer data from my external Hard drive to my Mac, so that my mac would be the same as it was.
🙂👍
I still have the same issue..error shows .additional components not found
My Mac is stuck during yhe installation of MacOS Catalina. It says "about 2 mins remaining" and it has been 2 hours already

are the data will lost if we have this issue?
I held down command and R but it still went to Starting Internet Recovery
Please advise
I get stuck at normal login, recovery & Internet recovery. Safe mode doesn't work. What can be done? While being stuck it gets rapidly heated and fans work as full speed.
Please help, when i tried to open disk utility they say my machintosh hd not mounted. When i try to press the mount button it doesnt do anything. Help me
When you're in Disk Utility, change View button to Show All Devices. Then select the Container and erase that. You should be able to reinstall macOS afterwards. Or if your APFS volume is encrypted you should be able to select your Macintosh HD (greyed out) and mount it. You will be prompted for the password to unlock it. Once you unlock it, you can erase it.
