Oh, yes, please, please, PLEASE, a tutorial on how to make those beautiful drawer handles! And a video about taking an item and making it into something else would be fabulous! YOU’RE fabulous as is your channel. Thank you again for inspiring so many of us.
Your work is incredible and fascinating. My 2 year old grand daughter enjoys watching your videos with me!! Thank you for sharing your work. I'm so interested in this hobby only I am aiming for a much smaller scale...finger size kind of thing. Yikes! Lol! At this time im binge watching your videos. So glad you make them as they are very well done! I'd love to see how you make Drawer handles, so yes, please show us! I'm a 64 yr gramma of 7 hoping my teen grandson will join me as he shows interest as well, only in the new space theme creations.
I’d love to see more of your kit bashing. Very interesting and I’ve been into minis for over 30 years, I just love them.. love your creative ideas with less expensive materials.
I love all the details you added to these . Awesome looking after your creative touch . I never would of guessed what it started out as . Thank you so much for teaching so much .
I bought one of those tables and turned it into a lighted vanity with a mirror and fairy lights also from dollar tree. It’s my favorite piece in my dollhouse bathroom.
Oh great!! They are fun little pieces to mess with. If you watch 'Real Life Dollhouse Miniatures'... she did a whole series on repurposing these dollar store gems! Have fun with them!
As usual, I’m late to the party, but maybe you’ll see my comment, who knows. I have been seeing decoupage videos come through my RUclips feed lately and as you started this project I thought how fun it would be to do that technique in miniature! That might be a fun experiment at some point. I always enjoy your adventures in creating, Ara. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. 🌼
I never tire of your videos! I’m on the verge of making my first piece of furniture, but I’m very timid to start. Your tutorials are so helpful and inspiring. Thank you!
I love this range of furniture. We have these in the UK but pay more than that for it. It’s only a few quid. The drawers are my favourite. I use them in an abandoned room model I did, had fun painting them. Love your work xxx
This was just great but your handles took it to a whole different level! They are beautiful! I almost felt as if I could reach out and pull the yellow drawers open! Thanks for sharing. 😁💫
Appreciate the description of the painting technique and would love to see aging techniques too. I'm a very rough beginner at miniatures and I actually bought these two pieces a while ago in an attempt to make my first dollhouse out of a small white crate. Super cute stuff, thank you :)
I've had the dresser and bed sitting on my craft table for months; trying to figure out just what I needed to do to make them less "dollar storeish" - thanks for the inspiration and tips. I'm ready to get started now!
Awesome!! You may also look up 'Real Life Dollhouse Miniatures' channel. She did a series a couple months ago bashing dollar tree furniture into many different looks ;)
I’m all the way back here looking at how I can customize these wooden items for a Barbie house I’m working on. I want drawers for some jewelry and cosmetics I’ve collected. I found some clear acrylic map pins at Target to use for handles.
Not too long at all that was great. Ill keep looking but did you do a video on how you made the handles and knobs? Great idea about the post earrings!!! My friend sells paparazzi jewelry and the kids post earing are 1.00 a pair!!! Now i have so many ideas.
Not fond of the colour scheme (the table in particular I was expecting something glossy/stained), but watching your techniques was interesting :3 those handles are a marvel in themselves
Thanks :) The great thing about dollar store furniture is you can purchase several and try out all sorts of color schemes ;) "Reallife Dollhouse Miniature"s channel has done the table several different ways and got really creative.
For a better result when using woodfiller, overfill and sand it back to where you want it. Woodfiller shrinks when drying, not always consistent, so it will look bretter if you overfill first. Other rhan that, great video!
Thank you for explaining about the "crumb coat" of paint to get a smoother finish, Ive had the floofy wood problem before and didn't know how to combat it. I was only just today saying to Shyra @Queen city minis how I wished the New Zealand version of your Dollar tree stores would stock wooden dolls house furniture like these! For the false drawerfronts, could you use matboard instead of the two layers of cardstock?
Ok.. Time out! I probably already commented on this long ago lol..but that's ok😊 You were so bold with those colors, I'm a lil hesitant when it comes to vivid colors. But they look so great! I love the little flower handles, so cute...did you put the dresser in the Fairfield? I can't remember, but it reminds me of something from the 70s...lol I love the handles on the table, now I have the same table in the living room and thought I might pull it out and give it a makeover, nothing like the cocktail table lol, but just a little bit of me. I got it way back when the dollar tree sold painted furniture so it has a cheep mahogany color. But gosh.. I love the handles you put it in and the paper detail.❤️❤️
Live your video! Just one little thing. Would it have been easier to glue two sheets of card stock together before cutting? I don't know, or is their a reason for this?
1:20 I’m sure you know by now but it’s Balsa wood. Last year I bought one of each of the furniture pieces they had. I haven’t done any improvements on them yet so hopefully I get ideas from you. 😁
I don't currently have any videos like that available but I can add it to my idea list :) The easiest way to start a project that specific is to sketch it out front, back, top and side view! It would probably work to use materials similar to my vanity video but with lots of sanding to get those smooth curved edges! If I get the chance to make a video on this I will let you know... I think it would be a fun one to create! Thanks, Ara
I was considering doing this too, when I saw these at my dollar tree the other day. They looked really small, though. Are they actually 1:12 scale, or do they need adjustments done to be the right size? Love how yours turned out, btw. Amazing how you can take something so mediocre and make it so beautiful.
Great video. Thank you for the tricks and tips. New subscriber from Duncan, Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. I would like to see a video on recessing a wash basin into the top of a piece. Thank you and Cheers
Thank you for the awesome comment and for subscribing! I am glad you are enjoying the videos. I will make sure to add your request to my video ideas list! -Ara
Bentley House Productions thank you. I look forward to watching more. I also purchased some of the same style(balsa, I think) I am working on shadow box vignettes for kitchen and bathroom art. So nice to know I can do some video extra learning. I have been painting, sewing, carving, drawing etc for decades but this old dog loves learning new tricks.
If you ever have any suggestions for me from your decades of knowledge please let me know! I am the first to say that I don't know all about minis. I hope to make my channel into a miniature community where we can all help each other :)
Bentley House Minis I am having so much fun redoing the dollar store furniture. You have created a monster. Actually, it's been a great distraction from thinking about the symptoms of Lyme disease that I have to deal with day to day. A very welcome change of focus. I would love your input but I can't figure out how to send you photos of my finished pieces.
Kelly Newman I am so glad it's been a welcome distraction and a fun project for you. The easiest way to share with me is through Instagram and tag me with @bentleyhouseminis. I would love to see what you made!
I love your handles. A time suggestion: Show MUCH less sanding (we ALL know how to do that) and more time on the detail work. It would greatly shorten the length of your video and make it more interesting and informative. Thanks for sharing your time and talent with us.
So glad you liked the handles! If you watch my more recent videos you will see I cut out almost all of the tedious tasks now because I totally agree with you ;) This was a much older video.
I know this is a six year old video but I absolutely loved it. I am just starting to do miniature, and I have enjoyed your channel so much!
Oh, yes, please, please, PLEASE, a tutorial on how to make those beautiful drawer handles! And a video about taking an item and making it into something else would be fabulous! YOU’RE fabulous as is your channel. Thank you again for inspiring so many of us.
Those both turned out real cute. Thanks for sharing and you have a great day
Quit apologizing for the length....always enjoy your videos!...God bless y’all and stay safe and healthy!

I’d love to see more of your kit bashing. Very interesting and I’ve been into minis for over 30 years, I just love them.. love your creative ideas with less expensive materials.

Thank you Elisabeth! So glad you enjoyed it!
Im learning so much from your videos, thank you!
I bought one of those tables and turned it into a lighted vanity with a mirror and fairy lights also from dollar tree. It’s my favorite piece in my dollhouse bathroom.
WOW !!!! You sure kicked the 'dollar store' look out of those pieces. NICE JOB !
You are so talented. These are lovely.
That's so funny as I bought the desk and both dressers. I always feel more confident after listening to you. The dresser you detailed looked amazing.
Oh great!! They are fun little pieces to mess with. If you watch 'Real Life Dollhouse Miniatures'... she did a whole series on repurposing these dollar store gems! Have fun with them!
So cute!! Definitely going to search for some little furniture pieces to revamp!
I enjoyed this so much. Thank you.
Love your videos...I just started buying DT dollhouse furniture and l love the way you show us how to upgrade the look of them. TFS
Awesome! Thank you!
Claudette Hernandez, do they fit 1:12 scale?

They look good.
Brilliant, relaxing and educational, thank you. x
i used the little knobs as mushrooms in the kitchen in a market basket
Toujours des bonnes idées ma chère ! Merci !
Love this I am just in the process of starting to make an old doll house into a creepy Halloween decoration. Love all you ideas thanks 🥰
How's it turning out?
This was just great but your handles took it to a whole different level! They are beautiful! I almost felt as if I could reach out and pull the yellow drawers open! Thanks for sharing. 😁💫
Thank you for the kind words! I also have a handle making video if you want to check that out :) I appreciate it!

Beautiful outstanding amazing Presentation 😘 😘❣️❣️
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed!
1:14 It does look like poor quality plywood but it looks “poor quality “ because it’s not plywood it’s BALsa wood.
Plywood would look nicer than that stuff.
Yes, do a bash video. These came out great!

Omg i bought the same dresser at dollar tree and wanted to do something with it and didnt have a clue lmao yours looks gorgeous!
Thank you so much! Have fun transforming your dresser!
I turned the chests on the side, and made an apothecary cabinet, they are cheap and adaptable
I'm trying to duplicate my grandmother's Chambers Stove for my farmhouse doll house. Any ideas or techniques would be so helpful. I love your work!

I have a lot of cheap and broken ones so I can definitely do that in the future!! ;)
Cool ima try doing that because in Christmas I’m getting a Barbie dream house (adventures)
Awesome!! Sounds like a fun project!
Thank you for showing this technique i was hoping to see a break down on this exact sort of furniture ☺ nicely done.
Glad it was helpful!
The handles made these pop pre handles I was less then impressed after handles I was wow’ed!! Good job
Thanks! They do make quite a difference ;)

Nice job!

If you don't have cash, sometimes you can make some nice looking handles out of some shortened nails, or even industrial staples.
Yes, Please teach us how to make the handles. All different kinds. I need to make kitchen knobs. Thanks for your video.
No problem! You can find my handles video here: ruclips.net/video/6Ut1lAMOeWU/видео.html
I WOULD HAVE USED BALSA WOOD BUT THE CARD STOCK DOES LOOK GOOD
Can you do one on how to do the small draw pulls

Yes, please show how to make handles!
I already have another video out on the handles ;) I think it's just a little newer than this one if you look through the video list!
Just for the fact that it is wood and not cardboard, I'll gladly pay the dollar for it
Please turn this into a series,
I too would love to know how you made your own handles, TFS!
Wear did u get them from i live in the uk
i took the desk type piece apart and made a drawer.
Does anyone know if the dollar store pieces fit 1:12 scale? Please. I just found cute chests I want to use.
If you put acetone on the places you want to take apart it comes right apart.
Yes, please do a aging technique
Check out my "Abandoned Coffee Shop" playlist ;) Everything is aged there😃😉
I want the video to make the handles!
Are these 1/12 scale
Yes they are :)
No exactly but I guess it’s good enough for government work.
Couldn't you cut out those front panels and make real little drawers?
Thanks
girl what dollar store!? LOL!!
Sorry lol... Dollar Tree (the one where everything is actually a dollar)😁
@@BentleyHouseMinis yep, im gonna need to go shopping LOL!!
Question: Why didn't you cut out the draws and turn them into functioning draws. I've started doing that with a doll shop piece.
It could definitely be done but I was just focusing on the outer appearance for this video. Great idea :)
Thank you. By the way of course I absolutely adore your work,
I would like to see how they turn out when you are done with the working draws
What scale is this furniture?
It is 1:12 scale
Do more!
