    Really great. I think it is urgent to put some green buildings in every town and country fields of the world, but just to absorb pollution, with recycled water, if the weather gets too hot, with deserts vegetation, if too cold, cunniculums, epiceas and arctic vegetations......

    All these buildings are so beautiful and quite stunning. But there are considerations not mentioned in the video. Green planting on these high rises, how would this type of planting behave in a fire? Also fire escape? Finally cost to build and maintenance. The concept is warming to the spirit.

      What about the embedded energy of the steel, concrete and glass? Isn't it better to have tri-generation, cross - ventilation and window shades in summer? Trees belong on the ground in parks or forests.

    I love the green walls = plant mats placed on the walls of the tower in substrate without needing soil. I am not convinced by putting trees on buildings because the roots will become constricted and their water usage is much higher than that of green walls. Especially in Australia that's not sustainable. It seems architects love to slap trees on buildings because they look cool in renders instead of using the much more suitable and sustainable green walls.

    the roots will destroy the concrete and it's very hard to trim the branches! the plants should be keep a small distance from building rather than inside building!

    I'm not sure what happens to a multi-story building covered in green shubbery when the waterproof materials and water delivery systems degrade over time ..that would be some mess to sort out . Quite frankly I think plants are best placed in the ground , instead of being a sales gimmick.

    • @goncalodias6402
      @goncalodias6402 3 года назад

      ya... the best i-tech to build envoirementaly is to build the buildings with the lowest technology possible. building with durable, local materias and little glass, avoiding flat roofs were it rains and cantilevers or inclined structures witch tend to degradate over time.
      build to last .you dont have to stick trees in the façade to make a building green. if you dont have to rebuild it for centuries, like the historic centers of cities they will be hundres of times greener than this buildings that need huge amounts of maintenance.

    A stupid fad that will fall out of favor and be forgotten. The enormous cost to build and maintain will eventually cause major changes. With land available for horizontal development at a far cheaper price only the trendious patrons will take the bait and buy into the cost involved. From a technical standpoint waterproofing alone is a daunting challenge especially if you want it to be trouble free for 50 years or more. Sorry, no sale.

    • @goncalodias6402
      @goncalodias6402 3 года назад

      the old city centers are still the most envoirementaly friendly built envoirement created. if it lasts with little maintenance its still greener than these "green" skyscrapers that have to be basically rebuilt every 2 decades or so.
      these architects ignore the fact that roads and parking space and not buildings occupy most of the land in urban envoirements, what we should have is better buildings and more public green space for the people instead of places for cars.
      invest in public transportation and build traditional buildings. the city of the future is the citie of the past, turns out that the way cities were built for thousands of years is actually the correct way and the people before us weren't total idiots.

      Mr. Diaz: I agree. Here in Arizona there are few buildings predating the 1900’s. In fact, our “historic” buildings were built between 1900 and 1930. My architectural firm specialized in preservation and adaptive reuse of many of these. There is no such thing as an intact building that must be torn down. The results of extending the lives of these structures were very rewarding. That firm continues this important work to this day. I left it to work with our County Government and with Arizona State University where I planned and then built many projects that preserved “out dated” large structures for continued use and enjoyment of students and the public. Most notable were several modifications and repairs to the Universities Gammage Auditorium by Frank Lloyd Wright. It was an honor to work on it and to actually use the original Wright drawings when researching new work.
      While I am retired now, I still get a smile on my face when passing one of “my” buildings that is still there due to my efforts.
      I studied art and architecture at the Ecole des Beaux Arts while it was located in the Versailles Palace complex. While traveling I became infatuated with Spain and the small towns. Their existence is so honest it is almost emotional. Barcelona is magnificent and my absolute favorite after traveling and working all around the world.
      My very best regards to you.
