I live in Japan and sometimes I really don't understand their fashion because some people wear pants under skirts😅 but sometimes I see some people (even the guys and even grandpa) dressed so cool like they're going to photoshoot! Why Japanese people wear pants under skirts because we still have kind of conservative kind of fashion style, many girls are still not very comfortable to show their skin!

I saw this documentary about young Russian models sent to Asia (I think it was also Japan or China?) to do modelling. That story was really close to what Valeria shared. But there, they were so underpaid and they were invited in clubs to dance and drink to attract more costumers and they were paid a low amount but they still take it because they have lots of debts to their agencies because of the rent, the plane tickets, and etc. You could see that the clients preferred fair girls over tan ones so it's hard to get a job if they don't like your skin and your facial features. The agencies also divided these girls into 2 categories, baby face looking and matured looking. The younger looking girls go to Asia because that's what people preferred there while the later go to Europe. I felt bad for those girls. I guess Valeria got lucky.
I think she experienced the same, but when you're 16 and already having a work as a model and having fun and partying, you don't really realise you're "underpaid".
I worked in tokyo (and europe) as a model as well and it really depends on how reputable the agency is. Bravo models, the one valeria was with, is known to be good and represents some bigger names.
Bravo models still exists and they are still one of the good/leading agencies in Tokyo, besides Wizard, Donna and Zucca Models(which I'm with) 😊 I experienced Japan already two times for my job and I loooove it 😍❤️

oh so excited for this series! I had a very short modelling "career" (does not deserve the name) in the very early 2000s in Paris and Southern France. Led nowhere and I wanted to go to uni anyway. So so excited for learning about your international adventures!
Roppongi is also the red light district and sometimes the heart of dodgy business, so be careful. İnteresting thing is there is that part of Russia which is only a 2-3 hour flight away from Tokyo, where some of the high class sex workers in Roppongi come from. All in all its still very safe compared to other big cities of the world.
