Valeria, I have been waiting for the update on your biological father since your last blog you did. I feel so emotional right now. Your mom has an enormous heart. My mother has been always a very confused and confusing person with some dose of narcissism, lot of mental traumas and even though she raised me with values, her negative way of seeing all things, affected me so deeply until today. You are very lucky that your mom is such a balanced person and respects your boundaries. The way she talks to you at the end of the video makes me wanna cry, because I believe that is the healthy way of a parent to talk to his child. She respects your personality and doesn't have any "demand" to reflect her own needs throughout you. Just beautiful.

I wanted to feel sorry for you but then I realized I was reading something I could’ve written myself. My mom’s the same. She thinks ‘differently’. She picks one of us (her 3 kids) to be a favorite for the month then cusses and threatens and just breaks our hearts with words the other two. Recently, we noticed she wasn’t talking to any of us. The three of us decided then that in the longest time, we’ve never felt this happy and healthy. We’re keeping things this way now on. Cutting ties with our own mother who always reminded us that we will never fit her standards and that we will never be as good as her. She’s been poison to us for as long as we could remember.

I admire you Valeria, you're strong willed and very brave. I cried with you when you spoke about your grandmother, and I think now I understand fully how lucky we all are (yourself included, as you've said, you were not feeling a void) to be able to feel loved and cared after, by whomever that may be, family, not family, distant relatives, who knows?
Thank you for being so raw and sincere in this vlog. I've been watching you for a year and a half now, and I can sincerely say that you have helped me become stronger, simply because you are strong yourself. What your mother said in your first vlog about your trip, how she knew that "Valeria" means strength, is true. Never doubt that, because I'm super happy that you've said yourself how proud you were after the cemetery.
Your children and husband are very lucky to have such a fierce and hardworking person in their lives, something your mother passed onto you in a beautiful way. Please tell her that she is an example, not only for everything that she did for you, but because of her wisdom also.
    Love from France :)

This made me cry. Probably because there is so much history going on, or maybe i had similar situation with my family too? Just seeing all of the history... my mother is kurdish and we went to see the village they used to live, this video reminded me that somehow... thank you for sharing this amazing video about you, your family and your roots. I really appreciate your videos, they are so worth to watch. Love you sooo much 🌸🌸 /sorry for my bad English

Never saw on yt such a deep video. You made me cry. Partly because seeing how strong your good values are made me feel sad for how many people are lacking of them and don't even know what beauty they're being missing. And secondly because you riminded me of my adorable grandfather who had a strong impact to me and I'll be loving him for the rest of my life. Grandparents are the sweetest thing we might have. Thank you valeria. You and your mum are unique human beings.

I am a Russian girl born in ‘94 in Moscow. I remember growing up and hearing news about the war in Chechnya, about the attacks on Stavropol towns and such, and always being terrified of them. I came to Kavkaz for the first time ever in my life in 2018 via the same very airport in Minvody to ski on Elbrus. This region is magical. Being there soothes your mind, nurtures your soul. The nature, the people, the history. This small part of your story resonates so much with me. I absolutely admire your mother. She reminds me so much of my friends’s moms, self-made strong independent women, very elegant and beautiful, very talented, very tender yet so tough who managed to make it through the 90s and even come out of the situation with some economic benefits (like buying a large apartment in Moscow all by themselves). She is the epitome of what it means to be Russian (even though I perfectly understand that her background is so much more than just Russian). I aspire to become someone as strong and as wise as I get older. I wish your family all the best, peace and prosperity, and lots of happiest years to come!

I know this is a really old video.. but I just found it. I have not seen my father since I was 3, and it brings me so much pain to think that I was unwanted by my own father... after watching this it makes me feel at peace, and makes me appreciate the sacrifice and struggle my mom went through to give us a good life. Thanks xo.

Your mother is absolutely amazing. Makes me feel so lucky that I still have and live with both my mother and babcia who emigrated here to Canada from Poland. Immigrant stories like this are so important, you see the backbones of every woman who suffers unimaginable circumstances... to see you being able to share this respect with your mother is just beautiful. It makes me want to brush up on my Polish and have more conversations with my grandmother. The strength of these women, women like your mother, is what makes the world turn.

And i also cry me eyes out when i remeber the passing of my russian grandmother. Having russian routes is a beautiful privelig - of being strong but also so deeply emotional with Hiding it mostly.
