The sound of genuine joy in your voice was refreshing and what you needed for sure. I watch your videos on a big screen and surround sound. Holy crap are those tires loud!! They did exceptionally well for right out of the bag. Burn off the new layer and they can only get better.
We don’t have much to compare to but the best 1.9’s rtr crawler tire we’ve experienced is the ones on the new redcat gen9.. they’re stickier than the proline hyraxes I’ve got..
Well, a tire that I didn't know that I needed. I was pleasantly surprised at how well these CT knockoffs did! Thanks for the review! Since I'm not watching these in order, I'm gonna go back and watch the last vid that sounds like a lot less joy than this vid was!
It's the only time I can think of where someone has knocked-off an RTR tire. And it's the only Amazon tire I've tried that actually mostly works, so it's a certified double-whammy.
I have a trx4 79 bronco I traded for.I put a set of printed inserts and modded tread.the canyon trails work awesome on the truck with a few upgrades.it’s unreal how good they work
The Canyon Trail (the real one) is probably my favorite crawler tire overall. Cheap, durable, and with a proper insert they will climb 95% of what any other boutique tire will. I own more sets of Canyon Trails than I do anything else-- I really need to try printed in a set and see how they do, but they're so damn good on $20 worth of double-buns I can't bring myself to put $60 worth of inserts in $18 worth of tires.
Have you ever tried cutting those stiffer foams? Kinda like how the Krazy Krawlers are cut but way more aggressively. I've done it to several lower grade foams with good results.
They're SO stiff. Not quite at the level of RC4WD, but too stiff for anything weighing less than like... 20lbs. They might be useful cut down into an inner for a dual stage.
They're almost impossibly noisy, but they actually did what was asked of them. They'd probably be downright "very okay" with some tire treatment, I may at least do a Simple Green soak to see if they loosen up at all.
A surprising treat after crushing defeat. 😂 Thank you sir, I was super curious about the 2.2 trails until I saw the price and did the Red Sanford routine. Good to know the snip n sype still does the trick. Any chance of monster griping and refoaming for a Dead Ringer 2.0?
I would LOVE to Monster Grip these, but the guy no longer sells directly but rather through "independent distributors," so I can no longer even find it listed anywhere. Still searching for oil of wintergreen at a non "make me pass out" price.
@@CrawlerCanyon there are automotive products proven to soften rubber. Project Farm has tested several stop leak producs containing rubber conditioners with positive results. You could grab them off the shelf of any auto parts store. Doctor up a few sets of canyon trails with different formulas. That would make a good episode/series.
One day, just maybe, the Amazon-cloners will knockoff a tire and stumble upon a workable compound. I dream of them getting it REALLY wrong and the tires ending up the consistency of gum erasers, so they would last like 4-5 battery packs, just leaving shed rubber everywhere. I'd buy SO many.
@@gumpycognac4505 I want someone to just throw caution to the wind and give us the stickiest, gummiest, least sustainable tires we can get-- but not for $40 a pair. Like... $15 a set. Just wear 'em down to bald in a matter of hours. It would be glorious.
@@CrawlerCanyon I have some Rock Beast clones that are basically like that, super sticky and i am sure i will destroy them in a few minutes as soon as the snow melts.

Loudest tires I've ever heard. But they actually worked, which I still can't believe.
And no helicopter or planes!! Could it get any better?
@@jackhando5465 this might be the first video ever without choppers, planes, or Kevin. Maybe they all slept in?
I find the lug noise soothing. Thank You for another good test

Another amazing video thank you Canyon never Even thought they would make a knock off tire of the Canyon trails mind-boggling

You've been cranking out videos at an alarming rate lately. Not complaining 😀
I liked your description of radio static better, I keep expecting radio Luxembourg to come through 😅😂
might look into getting a set for my Bomber. Thank you
What are you doing with the bezerkers?? Grayson needs some 2.2’s for his danchee
I would like to see you try j concepts 1.9 fling kings on the rocks in green compound I hear there unbelievable

What wheels did you use?
Basic Amazon 2.2s: amzn.to/3FUIR5K
I almost ordered some and i dont have 2.2's lol. Pleasantly surprising.
That sound haunts me from the few Amazon tyres I've tried! It's like bouncy ball rubber.

Mr.C is it time for a re-view of the fake canyon trails?
Pretty sure they're on the skewers.
Just imagine them with a competitive compound 🤯

These don't look crazy huge on the Capra, I tried showdown 2.2s on mine and they were comically large, even after I stretched the wheelbase.
Showdown 2.2s (and all of the Duratrax 2.2s) are absolutely massive. These faux 2.2 Canyon Trails are the same OD as a 1.9 Vanquish VXT2.
Nice!
