  • Hey everyone! Today, we’re diving into another IP smash project. I had so much fun with the last one that I couldn't wait to tackle another. This time, we're heading to Townsville to create a set of 40k Powerpuff Girls using the Celestine kit.
We'll be making a few modifications along the way to bring Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup to life in the Warhammer universe. We start with Blossom, using Celestine as the base. The build is straightforward with a few changes: we’ll separate the hair from the armor, replace the weapon hand with an open hand from the Astra Militarum Combat Patrol kit, and sculpt Blossom's iconic long red hair using green stuff. For Bubbles and Buttercup, the process is similar, involving hand swaps and covering the jet pack mounting points with accessories from the Astra Militarum kit. Bubbles will get pigtails, either sculpted or borrowed from Ork kits, while Buttercup's hair stays as is.
Once the builds are complete, we’ll give the models a zenithal prime and move on to painting. Each Powerpuff Girl gets painted in their signature colors, starting from a saturated base and working up to pastel highlights. We’ll use a light flesh basecoat for the armor, gradually highlighting up to an off-white. A medium-thin coat of white or grey contrast adds definition, and final highlights with a pure off-white bring out the details. For the black areas, we use a black contrast with quick edge highlights using light flesh. The skin gets a mid-tone basecoat, highlights with light flesh, and a skin wash for warmth and definition. Each Powerpuff Girl's hair is painted in their distinct color: Blossom’s red hair with a reddish-orange base, Bubbles’ blonde with a yellow contrast, and Buttercup’s black following the same method as the other black elements.
We mount the girls on flying bases, tinted in their respective colors to represent their flight trails. Despite a mix-up with the arms, the project turned out great, and they’re displayed on a homemade base using resin and simple household items. If you’d like to see more display bases made from everyday items, let me know in the comments! Enjoy the video and remember to subscribe for more creative projects and updates on fixing any build issues. See you next time!

It would be exciting to see Mojo Jojo. I imagine his model as a mix between an Ork-brain boy and a Jokaero.

I have been thinking about that as a future option, but not thought of using those models.
I was thinking one of the old Mars Attacks miniature platic helmets would work for part of it aswell, but that is a fairly costly way to make a hat for him haha 😄
Bw and hope all is well

I love these IP crossovers, they are so creative.
And now I can tell my daughter what happened to the Powerpuff Girls when they grew up :)
