Hello thanks for the video. I have a Samsung mu7000 series. Please confirm that what I will need is at least a Coi3 laptop for this to work. Does it need to have both devices connected to a wifi? If it does, Are there any other methods which do not need a wifi connection but wirelessly connect my laptop to the TV?
All you need is CPU starting with 3rd Generation Intel® Core i3/i5/i7 and Wi-Fi adapter that supports Wi-Fi Direct function. You don't need wi-fi router because your laptop sends out signal directly to your TV's wi-fi using Wi-Fi direct technology.
There should be only one universal dongle. The market is flooded with so many brands -- that it makes difficult for a consumer to unify their devices. Apple says, come and take a bite off me... and be broke financially. Google says, come... i am cheap, but i will monitor you for your life. Samsung says, come and join me, you Apple sheeple! We are already watching you through your TV. Logitech says, hehehe! Ripped ya off with Logitech Revue. No update. No firmware. Your obsolete device isn't our problem now. I think i will just rely on HDMI cable. :)

Is Miracast the same as Intel WiDi? As I understand, WiDi uses a separate wifi connection to it's host and not the main Wifi. Which means my laptop can stay connected to a different network, and my smart TV does not have to be on the same network. Is that understanding correct? Is it also the same with Miracast?

Hello, please help. I have a dell inspirion Core i3 that’s giving me problems with the wireless connection to my TV. It had recently been installed windows 10. 1. Initially, it was able to detect the TV and the TV would attempt to connect, but eventually it would fail. At one point, i was able to connect wirelessly to my smart tv and it worked fine. After a few minutes it disconnected and it wouldn’t connect anymore. 2. I then took it back to the guy who installed windows and he did a reinstallation of windows 10 and now the PC can’t detect the TV at all. Please help me what should i do to fix this. Thank you
it's the driver issues I guess... What's the model of your laptop? Install wireless drivers and some software related to Intel wireless adapter. Download them only from dell's website.
If your dell Inspiron 3521 came with Dell wireless 1705 card (you can check in device manager) then wireless display function is not compatible with your model. Please confirm the model of your Wi-Fi adapter. This wi-fi adapter costs 7$ and supports Wireless Display ali.pub/2k19uu

If you have windows 10 and Intel's CPU, then go to right bottom corner and click notification icon. Then click connect. In the list should be your TV (it should be already ON) simply click on that devise from list.
The same method doesn't work for you? Simply click on the lower right corner of your screen (notification icon) and then click connect. Can you see your TV in that list?

You can stream any local/remote videos with any version of windows using VLC and the Smart IPTV app. It is possible to stream your PC desktop with this setup as well.
That's a common problem. In 90% cases you can fix it by updating your Wi-Fi drivers to the latest version as well as firmware of your TV. Google for firmware Akai smart TV (and the model of your TV). Copy to USB and then plug it into to your TV... Maybe your TV can update wirelessly ...!?

It works using Wi-Fi direct technology. It is good for watching videos and browsing but definitely not for gaming. There's like half a second delay.

Absolutely the same! Both work using WiFi direct connection. Your WiFi router doesn't take any part in this process.

It doesn't matter actually. Screen mirroring is using Wi-Fi dirrect connection between your laptop and TV. So there's no need in WI-Fi router.

Check the specs of your laptop. If it has AMD's CPU and graphics then it's not gonna work.
