I am not interested with the rebranding, unless they have playlines at affordable prices. The dolls were fun and great but the prices keep going up and up, so the are also dead to me.😁😊😇
I hope that they continue to produce playline dolls as well and that they will be available in a convenient way for all of us. Otherwise, I highly doubt that they will have success in the future. I am still surprised and disappointed how they handle the release of their collectors line 🙄 Thank you for your comment❣️
@@Endollphins Because I am in Australia, the only way to get them was through Temu, Aliexpress or Shein so without the free shipping you can get, it is too prohibited. I love the term "dollar store Poppy Parker!" So funny! I am a huge Parker Parker collector and that is a hilarious name! I don't know why people get upset about it. Anyway, I think Defa Lucy is new to marketing a collector doll, and they don't know how to sell or market a higher end doll. I, too, do not like to jump through hoops to buy a doll, so I never tried to get the fancy Defa Lucy. She is beautiful and I hope they continue to innovate and make the doll more available in the future.
I still think that it is funny 😁 Not sure what Defa Lucy tries to achieve at the moment... They should have improved their playline dolls before getting into collectors dolls. Of course, the dolls are sold out since the production numbers are really low. So, I guess they will see it as success... I don't know what to think about it. Such a weird marketing! I am curious about what they plan for the future 😆 And I also think that a collector can be a fan of both doll lines 😊 Thank you so much for your comment 😁❣️😘
Hola! Me gustó mucho tu video❤
Thank you so much for your comment 😊❤️😘 I totally agree with you. Maybe the company acts a bit delusional at the moment... I hoped they would take the succes they gained over the last 2 years and put into effort to release better dolls for a higher price, but still in playline manner. The collector dolls are nice, but with all the hustle around shipping and ordering, they are simply not worth it... in my opinion 😉
Your styling always works wonders, my friend. I’m not a fan of Defa Lucy, mostly because I don’t like the thickly painted eyelashes. Love the new faces, but like you, I’m not going to chase them or join FB to order. Deleted FB years ago. 😊
Hey, I know you don't like them 😉 I like the thicker lashes, but I even liked the collectors' ones without painted lashes 🤣🤣🤣 But with all the barriers they built around them... I am out! Thank you for your comment ☺️❤️😘

Selling a doll through Facebook sounds like a weird idea. Surely in this day and age all companies who want to sell product would do so through their own website or through a shop on another website maybe (Amazon/eBay). I don't have any DefaLucy dolls, I managed to resist temptation, there were two that I liked but never got them. Even the fact that they were selling through Shein put me off if I'm honest.
I totally agree with you. It is weird to sell dolls like this... especially as a "big" company even for modern days standard 😆 As long as they were only sold on Temu, but when they popped up on Shein I googled a bit about the website and I made my first order on Shein because of Defa Lucy 🤣 I am fine with Shein, since at least I can operate it from my PC as well and is similar transparent like Aliexpress 😅 But when Defa Lucy is gone Shein won't see me again 🤣🤣🤣 I really like the Defa Lucy faces and they sometimes come with some nice cloth and accessories. The body is ok in quality, not less sturdy than a lot of Barbie bodies I had in hands over the last years... I just like to switch it out for mtm or Mengf 😆 But you can totally leave a doll like it is and most collectors are good with it. Only the bended arms and legs (because of the way they pack the dolls) are annoying. But they come straight again when you put the body in hot water 😊 I hope Defa at least make a regular site for their playline dolls... we'll see. But honestly, there is enough other beautiful plastic out there nonetheless 😁 Thank you for your comment 😊❤️😘
@@Endollphins same here I only use Shein for my Defa Lucy dolls! This business saddens me and it's very strange how any company that comes close to competition for Barbie seems to fumble the ball (the hideousness of Hasbro Disney Princess dolls comes to mind). I won't be jumping through such shady hoops for a doll that will now cost a fortune to ship to Australia, imo Mattel is the one benefiting from this bizarro business move. Perhaps whoever is in charge over there at Defa Lucy was made an offer they couldn't refuse ....... 🐴😱
You are so right! Sometimes, I would love to have a view behind the scenes. We as customers never can get a full impression because we will never get all the needed information. But still, I can not imagine that in the long run, that kind of marketing will pay out for Defa Toys. Maybe we are wrong, but to me, it also feels like a way too early grabbing-for-the-stars move 😅 Thank you for your comment❣️ And sorry for the late reply. I really didn't see your comment earlier 🫣
The way they're selling the collector dolls is a mess, for sure. I wanted the redhead so bad, because I love that black blazer, but I missed out on her. I ordered the blonde. So far, I've only sent my $20 USD deposit (via PayPal), communication via email. I have no idea when she's shipping, and I'm kind of afraid how much I'm going to have to pay in duties and taxes (to Canada). I don't have any other Defa Lucy dolls, but I do like this blonde that you showed.
I totally get you. And I am sure that you'll be happy with your doll. Hopefully, they ship her save and sound to you. I guess there will be additional fees since Canada also seems to be pretty strict with this 😬 But I hope it won't be that bad. As I said, I don't think it is a bad doll. But the way they released those 2 dolls is wild! It is definitely not fair to all the collectors who liked their new faces and made them successful... I simply don't know what they are thinking! Thank you for your comment❣️
well, I really like the one with silverish hair, but those dolls are supposed to be a cheap Barbie alternative. Yet, their basic dolls cost as much as the Made to Move dolls, which of course, have way more articulations. Also, all reviews seem to show a loose hip articulation and very little hair, so they're not worth it in my opinion. And there is no way I'm buying a MtM doll just to swap her head.
Thank you for your comment. I get your point. I really like to buy mtm and other doll bodies only to swap the heads 🤣 That is why I love the doll hobby today... you only have to put in a bit of effort and in the end you have a beautiful doll that expresses your style and everything that you think is pretty and not only something that is put together by a product designer. Still, I also collect dolls that stay as is right from the box. But rarely.
They slowly following the path of Mizi/IT dolls Mizi was quite affordable when she started few years back The quality was okay but not the best but the prices were reasonable Now she is on par with IT toys dolls And this is what is happening to Defa Lucy
I can agree with you on some things. I remember the dolls from the early 2000s. I did buy a couple, but not sure I still have one. I know the dealer on IG. I just didn't need the new improved line. I bought 10 of the dolls that were offered on Temu and Shein. I hope they will continue to offer the budget dolls. I think I'm done with the dolls again. I liked them enough but not enough for 30 of the same faces
That is true... I usually also don't fall for the same-face-syndrom dolls. But I really liked the Defa Lucy faces and I hoped they would evolve their line, for example, with different screenings, rather than release a semi-collector line with a nasty ordering system 😑 Thank you for your comment❣️
Hello! I really enjoy your videos you have so much useful knowledge and information, I really enjoy all your restyles as well You have such great ideas and your restyles come together so nice ,could you tell me what outfit and accessories you styled the blond doll with? Thank you for all your hard work and the amount of detail and time you put into each and everyone of your videos I look forward to seeing more in the future!
I bought my first two from SHEIN and they didn't bother shipping them in a box so I got my all mangled up and clear plastic window of the box was torn open. Its a miracle nothing happened to the doll but it put me off buying from SHEIN. Unfortunately they're kinda expensive everywhere else.
They stated future releases will be distributed from their new US distribution centre so my guess is all the up and coming playline dolls sadly won't be ordering live in Europe and don't want all the extra customs. I was starting to enjoy the brand shein and temu were an easy way to get them the entire way to order the collector doll left a bad taste in my mouth felt seedy
Maybe they think that the US market is enough to succeed. I have no idea about the selling numbers... but it is a very unfair treatment for collectors all over the world. I don't think that their new playline dolls will be worth the shipping costs for me. The collectors line is interesting, but not with this order system. Anyways, there is so much beautiful plastic out there also without Defa Lucy 😊 Thank you so much for your comment 😁❣️😘
I was excited when I saw pictures of the new face but lost interest when I saw the price. I went on the website just to look around and it won't accept my email to even look at anything. No thanks.
The site didn't even except your email? How? I have to admit that I didn't even try, it already annoyed me too much when I read how everything has to be done to order this second doll. No clue what they are thinking! There is not a large number of dolls. So I guess they will be able to sell them, but in the long run, I can not imagine that this tactic will work out... but we'll see 😅
Defa Lucy release unboxing. I'm glad to hear that you know me. ❤❤😊 Why that big company went for replication, I don't understand. I think litigation is a natural result. Even so, I admit that Lucy you're touching is pretty! 😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you 🥰🥰🥰 Very nice to read that you agree with me! I hope they at least will release playline dolls again that will be available for more people again.
These 2 are Meng Fan or short Mengf bodies. I use them very often for dolls on my channel because they come in various colors and articulation. ruclips.net/video/7BoTxfgmPbU/видео.html In case you would like to get a bit more information, this video shows quite a bit of information about matching heads and skintones.
No prob 😉 It is a Mengf or MengFan body in white skin. The body for the blond girl has the wider torso from 2020, the girl with black hair does have the slimmer 2021 one 😁 In case you would like to see reviews and skin matches for these bodies, these 2 videos could be helpful 😆 ruclips.net/video/7BoTxfgmPbU/видео.html ruclips.net/video/dHoYovEN1kY/видео.html
DeFa Lucy has a website where you can see the doll. However it's very weird on how you actually buy and pay for it. I somehow ordered it and have paid the $88.00 its costs to get the doll. Time will tell if I actually get it.
Maybe I couldn't see it because at the point it was sold out or simply not for sale... or because I didn't use VPN 😆 Anyway, I'm very sure that you will get your doll 😊 I truly don't get why Defa Toys decided to launch the dolls the way they did... but I don't think that they act overall unprofessional. They want to get access to the collector doll level and it would be very dump taking people's money and then not deliver 😅 I think everyone who did order and pay for the doll will get her... But I'm still surprised that there were so many different prices... $80, $85, $88 and then plus shipping? So confusing 😕 I just hope that they change their ordering system in the future 😔
Very sad to read! I will have the same problem and I hope they will at least change that for their playline doll line... in case they'll launch a shopping website for them. But who knows... 🙄 Thank you for your comment 😊
😊 Was bedeutet schon Clone?
Hello again, I have finally been able to comment, what information you give in your videos, how this tendency to leave Shein or Aliexpress spreads, I pass, I cannot understand it with how comfortable those platforms are for us, if you do not pass the 150 euros, you have nothing to worry about, by the way I already have my first hybrid of an action doll head and a Mengf type body, by the way there is a cheaper body of that type for about 7 euros, I bought all three colors available and they are different from the xian xian princess so fashionable, but I don't have an original mengf to compare, greetings and until the next video
I agree, I think it was a mistake to leave all those Chinese websites. For most of us, it is hard to order international otherwise. I bought dolls from all over the world for more than 20 years and it was way easier back than compared to today... of course, cheaper as well 😅 My action doll head / Mengf bodies collection is also growing 😁 I am happy that you like yours! I have seen those Mengf fakie bodies. But the price is always around €13 😬 for me. I can get a real one for only a bit more 😅 I paid only €16 each for my latest white colored ones... But I will try them out once I find a good deal! Thank you for your comment 😊❤️😘
I don't 100% agree with all you said, however I hated the way they release. Getting it from big retail site is safe, they will give me back the money if I gt scammed. But this way they did it, no thanks! Also the two new dolls are so boring...I liked the Extra treatment of the dolls.
Thank you so much for your comment 😁❤️😘 Overall, I liked the new dolls... but they could have come with some extras and different shoes 😅... and maybe a new body as well 😆 You are totally right with the ordering system. I still don't know why they decided to release them as they did 🫠
I not like that so few can get the collector doll and the play line have also be so expensive if they have a better price I will buy her but not the collector doll not like the way she is sold❤😊
You are so right! I just don't understand what they are doing. In my opinion, this doll line is the first one (in years!!!) that does have the potential to be a competition to Barbie. But not the way they proceed and I don't think the collector world needs a lower quality IT variant... for that, they already have Mizi 😅 But what do I know?😆 I wish them good luck anyway! I'm simply out. Thank you so much for your comment 🥰❤️😘
Which number am I? I know you bothered a lot of other content creators with that. I don't know if I'm able to tell you something different than the numerous collectors who have already tried to discuss with you. Defa Lucy is not a Shein nor Temu brand. Defa Toys is a Chinese toy company. Like Mattel is an American toy company. But nearly all of todays doll production takes place in China. Regardless of which company you're thinking of. So, nearly every doll, doll clothing and accessories in your collection is made in China. You have zero information where those dolls and parts are exactly made or under what conditions the employees have to work. You even get no information about what exact materials are used. And as an example, even if something like the whole issue with "glue seepage" comes up, companies like Mattel simply ignore the issue... since no one sued them. The complete toy industry depends on China for producing their stuff and that was not a customer choice. However, you as a customer can decide if you want to order directly through a Chinese website or if you want to buy from a distributor in your own country instead... if possible. If you think that would make a huge difference overall for how toys are made today, you should overthink your investigation. But I guess you will rather go on and bother more people instead of educating yourself.
@@Endollphins i'm not trying to bother but informed which is why i took the time to make a video on the subject because as you said i educated myself, my comment wasn't rude in anyway unlike yours. Plus i'd like to add that even if mattel and mga do contact and work with manufacture in china they make sure it respect human basics right. MGA have been called out for working with ouighour camp i even talked about it with sources on the video. So piece of advice, before telling someone to educate himself about human rights and manufacture, maybe you should apply that advice to yourself. I simply recommended you to take time to know what you're buying because i believe the doll community have to be aware of that so you don't have to be this defensive if you know this brand has nothing problematic. Best regards
I'm not rude, you simply don't want to read the truth. Thinking that Mattel and MGA are completely open about their production process is delusional regardless with what kind of organization they work with. BTW, all of your action figures are also made in China by Chinese companies. I guess your investigation is somewhat hypocritical 🤣🤣🤣 Go and bother someone else with it. So far, you couldn't find anyone who agrees with you, but maybe you're lucky in the future. And please, open up as well an investigation about the action figure producers that you like to buy your figures from. I am sure they are all at least as human rights friendly like Mattel and MGA 😁
@ lmfao, ok, you wanna remain blind that’s your choice, don’t be surprised to see afd rising i guess they have your vote 😜 Also, read my comment again you missed some point because you’re talking about points that I have already covered, anyway. You’re a content creator who rather stay in her bubble and don’t want to change habits for a better world. Have a nice day I wish you the best and never face any negativity cause you obviously have a problem to face reality. Also, wanna talk about my action figure ? You missed a point (again) cause I only have ooak doll that I made myself because yes, I made the choice to face reality and stay authentic and true to myself. Btw, yes you’re being rude, but I guess mental health matter and is legitimate only if it concerns you and not someone else
I dislike DL. Her mold is not bad at all, the body is terrible and the fashion is cheap, even in the “high end” release. Poppy Parker is not just a doll, there is a level of design and quality to her, attention to details, materials… any IT doll is an experience! This specific DL look is a cheap copy of the Rayna Ahmadi Eye Candy release. If you look her up on google you’ll see why I use the word cheap. DL face sculpt is ok, and her recent release has a lovely screening, but the quality of the product overall is bad.
Not everyone likes the same dolls. Thank you for reminding me of the earlier IT doll releases. I totally forgot that they also had low quality dolls for low prices. The hair was terrible, the clothing as well and some of the face screenings were terrifying! But at least they had more different faces. Anyways, Defa Lucy released their first completely own design. Over time, maybe they will be successful, maybe not. Considering the limitation and the price of the doll, I think they did quite well. But everything else is not my thing.
just because something is targeted at children doesn’t mean it is immune to criticism or expressing opinions. i am tired of that excuse and its frankly quite lazy.
I am still surprised and disappointed how they handle the release of their collectors line 🙄

As long as they were only sold on Temu, but when they popped up on Shein I googled a bit about the website and I made my first order on Shein because of Defa Lucy 🤣 I am fine with Shein, since at least I can operate it from my PC as well and is similar transparent like Aliexpress 😅 But when Defa Lucy is gone Shein won't see me again 🤣🤣🤣
I really like the Defa Lucy faces and they sometimes come with some nice cloth and accessories. The body is ok in quality, not less sturdy than a lot of Barbie bodies I had in hands over the last years... I just like to switch it out for mtm or Mengf 😆
But you can totally leave a doll like it is and most collectors are good with it. Only the bended arms and legs (because of the way they pack the dolls) are annoying. But they come straight again when you put the body in hot water 😊
I hope Defa at least make a regular site for their playline dolls... we'll see. But honestly, there is enough other beautiful plastic out there nonetheless 😁
Thank you for your comment 😊❤️😘
Maybe we are wrong, but to me, it also feels like a way too early grabbing-for-the-stars move 😅
Thank you for your comment❣️ And sorry for the late reply.
But rarely.
They slowly following the path of Mizi/IT dolls
Mizi was quite affordable when she started few years back
The quality was okay but not the best but the prices were reasonable
Now she is on par with IT toys dolls
And this is what is happening to Defa Lucy
We'll see 😊
I can agree with you on some things.
But I really liked the Defa Lucy faces and I hoped they would evolve their line, for example, with different screenings, rather than release a semi-collector line with a nasty ordering system 😑
Thank you for your comment❣️
Anyways, there is so much beautiful plastic out there also without Defa Lucy 😊
Thank you so much for your comment 😁❣️😘
Why that big company went for replication, I don't understand.
I think litigation is a natural result.
Even so, I admit that Lucy you're touching is pretty!
😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you 🥰🥰🥰
Very nice to read that you agree with me! I hope they at least will release playline dolls again that will be available for more people again.
I ma y have missed it but what doll body did you use
These 2 are Meng Fan or short Mengf bodies. I use them very often for dolls on my channel because they come in various colors and articulation.

In case you would like to get a bit more information, this video shows quite a bit of information about matching heads and skintones.
Hello! Please could you tell me what's the name of the body you used?
No prob 😉 It is a Mengf or MengFan body in white skin. The body for the blond girl has the wider torso from 2020, the girl with black hair does have the slimmer 2021 one 😁
In case you would like to see reviews and skin matches for these bodies, these 2 videos could be helpful 😆

For the price of Defa Lucy I rather buy a Barbie fashionista doll
That's understandable, but personally, I don't like the new resin screening. Especially not paired together with very visible printing lines 😁
DeFa Lucy has a website where you can see the doll. However it's very weird on how you actually buy and pay for it. I somehow ordered it and have paid the $88.00 its costs to get the doll. Time will tell if I actually get it.
Maybe I couldn't see it because at the point it was sold out or simply not for sale... or because I didn't use VPN 😆
Anyway, I'm very sure that you will get your doll 😊 I truly don't get why Defa Toys decided to launch the dolls the way they did... but I don't think that they act overall unprofessional. They want to get access to the collector doll level and it would be very dump taking people's money and then not deliver 😅 I think everyone who did order and pay for the doll will get her... But I'm still surprised that there were so many different prices... $80, $85, $88 and then plus shipping? So confusing 😕
I just hope that they change their ordering system in the future 😔
@Endollphins Ja, wäre super ✌🏼
😁
20:16 they have a derpy look
I like derpy 😊
They look really nice in person.
I'm sad cos I have no way of buying them from my country like we used to
Very sad to read! I will have the same problem and I hope they will at least change that for their playline doll line... in case they'll launch a shopping website for them. But who knows... 🙄
Thank you for your comment 😊
I bought dolls from all over the world for more than 20 years and it was way easier back than compared to today... of course, cheaper as well 😅
My action doll head / Mengf bodies collection is also growing 😁 I am happy that you like yours!
Thank you so much for your comment 😁❤️😘
Overall, I liked the new dolls... but they could have come with some extras and different shoes 😅... and maybe a new body as well 😆
You are totally right with the ordering system.
I highly if you got time to watch my investigation about that brand and why it is problematic.
I guess your investigation is somewhat hypocritical 🤣🤣🤣
Go and bother someone else with it. So far, you couldn't find anyone who agrees with you, but maybe you're lucky in the future.
And please, open up as well an investigation about the action figure producers that you like to buy your figures from. I am sure they are all at least as human rights friendly like Mattel and MGA 😁
@ lmfao, ok, you wanna remain blind that’s your choice, don’t be surprised to see afd rising i guess they have your vote 😜
Also, read my comment again you missed some point because you’re talking about points that I have already covered, anyway.
🤡
Which fashion do you mean? I like the 'Fashion Doll" line and the Y2K collection that looks like they are ravers.
You guys are complaining when this dolls are obviously targeted to children. 🙄
You didn't watch the video and you have absolutely no interest in what I was talking about... But you had the urge to comment
Ok then... 😊
just because something is targeted at children doesn’t mean it is immune to criticism or expressing opinions. i am tired of that excuse and its frankly quite lazy.
You are so right with this❣️
The kids of today are the collectors of tomorrow 😁
They are for collectors too you know and these videos are meant for them.
