Suyuk is one of Korean cooking techniques of cooking meat. “Su” means water and “Yuk” means meat in Chinese. Although Yuk mean is meat, it commonly meant pork- which is most popular meat in Asia.
In Korea when you order suyuk, mostly it’s either pork belly or pork shoulder/butt serves with a couple of dipping sauce and side dishes but no wrapping options.
So if you oder Bossam, mostly they serves Suyuk with wrapping vegetables and side dishes for wrapping.
Everyone eats Bossam differently, so try different wrapping, filling, vegetables and sauces and find out your favorite!
But most importantly, have fun while experimenting of authentic Korean food in your kitchen!!

I love cooking bosam! My aunt taught me to make it. She puts soy sauce, fish sauce, and a little sugar in the water, but doesn't put he rice wine, but I tried it with the rice wine instead of the soy and fish sauces and I love the nuanced flavor it gives!
I love watching your cooking channel. Your effervescent personality and cooking skills make my day every time!
Thank you for this great recipe!!!
Ooh finally!! I fell in love with this dish when I first tried it at a korean restaurant.
Carin Pang Hope you try my recipe at home one day!! :-D
Loved the bloopers! As always very charming n inspirational
I know this is 8 years old but I had a craving for bossam and came across your video. I really find the searing after boiling method much more appetizing than giving it brown color with coffee. I'm thinking of trying this, but also may sear with clarified butter to give it richer flavor and caramelization.
I love all your recipes... your a great cook and everything is explained in a easy way that I can just watch it and cook the most delicious Asian food I've ever had... keep up the great work your doing... can you do a basic "what you need to have in you pantry to cook Asian at home" tutorial?... thank you again... don't ever stop...

I'm planning on making this dish but I'm wondering, won't the pork taste a little bland since only a tiny amount of salt (considering the amount of meat and water) is added to the broth ?

Seonkyoung Longest

I was watching this video high, and I was so confused about the dogs popping up. I kept thinking I accidentally clicked away.
😂😂😂😂
Lmao now that you say, I get it. But a sober mind would probably think the dog pops up, because it wants some of this food, or it 'responds' to Seonkyoungs actions.
OMG I'm high too
Or add coffee .... for colour... and cinnamon to the pork broth 👌👌
