Honestly I love this, I think it's such a good game with awesome characters. They do awful things but you can't help but sympathize with them. They're kids who obviously have terrible parents, and they only have each other, but their mental illnesses that seemed to be around when they were young (at least with the girl and her apparent abandonment and self loathing problems) caused them to grow into pretty twisted people without them being totally insane. I mean, Andrew seems to be dependent on his sister, her to him as well but in different ways. He takes care of her, she's something that he nurtures and protects, and she's someone that even when he wants to strangle her, he knows he can't because he wouldnt be able to live with himself. She seems to be all he's had for a long time, maybe because of their parents pressuring him so much and because especially young children are very needy, he's had to look after her since they were both little, and it creates this feeling of guilt if he were to ever be the reason she got into trouble, or stayed in trouble. Her tears, her fear, that's what makes him so moldable. He knows she relies on him, and he has a sense of responsibility for her, so he's a failure if he doesn't choose her, even if it means doing something he doesn't want to or doesnt agree with. And Ashley has such bad abandonment issues even when she was young. Andrew seemed to be the only constant in her life, with friends who seem to leave her behind, parents who don't care. He's her only friend, and the only one who makes her happy, so of course she becomes obsessed with him and gets scared when he becomes the interest of someone else, and outsider. What would happen if they stole him from her? She would be all by herself, and she would feel betrayed by the one person she thought she could trust. Obviously her twisted mindset of hurting someone in order to chase them away comes from somewhere, im not sure yet if it's something to do with something she's witnessed in the past, or if it's simply the response she had to her personal trauma. But god I can't help but to feel for them. I mean, they are all alone and they have no means of food, of course their first thought when the neighbor dies is to eat him, hell i think most people in that situation would think the same! And Andrew killing the guard to protect his sister, yeah that was wrong, but literally what was he supposed to do? They look like a couple of teenagers! He's confused and scared and he doesn't want his sister to be hurt, so he did the first thing that came to mind. I mean all of it sounds terrible but also just sounds like two kids trying to figure out how the hell they're gonna survive when it seems like the whole world is against them.. I'm expecting an eventual friend, someone who has both their best interest in mind, probably a sweet girl, someone for Ashley to be constantly jealous of, and for Andrew to possibly gravitate towards simply for the sake of survival. Someone who offers them a place to stay, maybe even a small family or something, someone to drive Ashley insane. I want the drama lmao, a scene where they do this fighting but to an even larger scale. I want their individual issues explored deeper, and overall I hope to see some sort of growth by the end, hopefully on both parts. I love these characters, i want Andrew to find his individuality apart from his sister, and I want her to find someone else she can really rely on. I dont know what exactly to expect from this series, for all I know both of them will die together at the end (which would also be an awesome ending with great potential)
