- In 60/61 AD turmoil seized southern Britain. A massive anti-Roman revolt reared its ugly head in East Anglia, as tens of thousands of Britons attempted to evict the recently-arrived Romans from the island by the spear. At its head was one of the most famous figures in the whole of British history, Boudica.

Thank you Odyssey. Not sure it's the right niche but if anyone's very interested in Brythonic warfare and the way the Romans adapted to deal with it I strongly recommend Schwerpunkt's recent video on the topic. Keep up with the amazing work
I am not a snitch but you are trying my patience.
YOU DO NOT HAVE THE VOICE FOR NARRATION.
@@John.Flower.Productions ...huh?
@@Sheepdog1314 That comment is from one of Schwerpunkt's many profiles that he uses exclusively to do that with.
He is almost always the first person to comment on virtually any video in this genre, always with the same line:

Kudos to you for producing such a high-quality and insightful video!
Now I could be speculating, but I think the men would fight harder knowing their families will get it if they fall 27:05
I love this. I learned about her in a book called Warrior Women. I enjoyed it immensely. Thank you for this program.
Much of that book was false.
"Boudica" didn't revolt, The "Romans" revolted against her rule, The Most High chose "Boudika" to govern the people, "Celtic word Booda/Buddha"
No.
I am sorry but what in the goddamn, are you okay?
@@di3727You don't read. Pathetic! 🤡

Lol what is wrong with you?
1:08 Nero was a neckbeard.😅😅😅
Neckbeards are disgusting.
No one beat the Roman invasion, good go tho, Boudicca
The Germanic tribes did,and the Parthians also did at the battle of Carrhae
Go my warrior woman
Boudica ❤
I would take any Roman account with a pinch of salt. No way they would report accurately on the happenings of a people they deemed lesser than
Sure love hearing about our European history from a British born Indian woman.
All of Europe is being replaced. America too. No one will fight it.
Okay? Why does that matter, AT ALL lol. Like seriously, what bothers you about that? Are we as humans only allowed to teach history about our own cultural background? That sounds pretty stupid to me. What if you’re American? Our history is the world’s history if you go back far enough. I think you need to reconsider just how stupid that point of view is.

All this proves is Boudica should have married Mel Gibson...
Good one😊
Romans exaggeration is well known.
Is it just me or does the painting of Boudica at the end of the video look like Maya Rudolph from SNL.
Boudica would actually have talent
130 years later couldn't rely on any man to write truth.
130 years is not that long, only one generation removed from eye-witnesses. My father met many Civil War veterans. Civil war commentaries and histories are still being written, well backed up by archeological evidence. Archeology again and again confirms many of these Roman histories.
History is written by the victors
@mywifesboyfriend5558 Tacitus is considered to be a very fair-minded and accurate historian, he's not just a propagandist for Rome.
There is so little validity to any of this that most books related to it should reside in the fiction section of libraries. Like Arminius and Vercingetorix and, possibly, Hannibal, she is increasingly becoming an inflated national hero of almost divine proportions. The truth, like the Iceni, died long ago.
WAR IS EVIL

poor little man....
“War is Father of All, and King of All. He renders some Gods, others Men; he makes some Slaves, others Free.”

They should have just stayed in the Mediterranean.
she thought she could win, she was wrong. she destroyed her home territory instead of taking the fight to rome itself...
How could they have done that? The roman army at the time was far too big to be defeated, the Brits couldn't have wanted a long campaign going into Gaul and Italy, they didn't have the logistics. Who would have protected their lands and families while they were abroad, they weren't professional soliders like the romans.
The interpretation that the British rose up with Boudica because "Nero was more feminine and Boudica was the more masculine of the two" (minute 09:00) must me the most idiotic take I have ever heard on this interpretation.
Well, I guess the British were FURIOUS that the Romans didn't repsect their pronouns and that's why they rose in rebellion.
Interpretation of history in 2024.
Sorry, stopped watching the video there. If this is the new line you want to go, feel free to do it, but I guess you will lose your audience that is interested in real history and not in re-interpreted history.
The view count says otherwise.
Welcome to the future. 😊

Boudicca the only Queen I worship...
Me too. Also, Lily Savage.
Appalling woke re-interpretation... how's about straight heavy power play - rather than male female identity name calling!!! And what is the masterpiece of rhetoric that is somehow not expressed... rather than vague aphorisms???
Yeah, the claim around minute 09:00 was one of the most absurd things I have ever heard.
And I have seen the debunking of "Ancient Apocalypse" and stuff like that.
I stopped watching.
Odyssey had a lot of VERY good videos, if this is the new road they are taking they can do it without me (and probably without anybody who is even remotely interested in real history instead of a reinterpretation.
But I guess Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia.
