The RG353M is THE best feeling handheld I own now. It's magical, this feels like the true successor to the RG350M more so than the RG351MP ever did. I have more powerful handhelds, but this is the one I play at home the most and travel with now. Glad to see another review of it.
Just got this for 78$ on a AliExpress end of Summer sale with free shipping to Korea. Looking back at this video puts a big smile on my face. I think I got a bargain.
Hey mate great review thank you for showing us, hey just wondering if you still think this is a good purchase moving forward this year? Or if you think it's money wasted? I saw it and despite newer models being released this one seemed really well built and had enough grunt for what I wanted to do
If you can get it at a good price I would say yes, but there are better handhelds for cheaper but as a handheld this is very well made and feels premium
Torn on this and the RG353V. Leaning towards the V for the Gameboy shape. Might just wait and see what the 405M offers, if there's HAL sticks there, that would swing it.
I would definitely wait just to compare them both and maybe by the time the 404 is out the price for the 353m might drop the Hal sticks are a must in my opinion
I think KTR1 should be on the list to compare, it's available to preorder, I ordered 8+256GB plastic version, I already have RG353M and its a great handheld, RG353V is good too but cant play too long on it due to its shape.
Nice review. 1. What's the first fighting game you were playing in the video on ArkOS? 2. Would you mind providing some gameplay footage of SEGA Worldwide Soccer '97 for SEGA Saturn? That would be massive! :) 3. Do you happen to know whether PICO-8 uses the the standalone version of the Libretro core of FAKE-08? In other words: Are you able to access the RetroArch quick menu and use save states in PICO-8 games?
Agreed, plus the community support only makes it better. Also the RG552 is their most powerful SBC based handheld. I want to go back to getting ports running on the RG552, RK3566, and RK3326 devices. I got Mystik Belle and Ultionus running on the RG552. But I'm trying to get it running on RK3566 devices too.
Thanks for the video Sonic I’ve been eyeing this one for a while. How does it compare to the retroid pocket 2 + in power? Rp2+ build quality and buttons suck so I’m looking to replace it but it’s really powerful I love the form factor of this and the 4:3 screen but I wonder if it runs Dreamcast as good. Is that video of you playing it running with or without frame skip? Also could please you try if this can handle the “gut-v050” crt shader on 16 bit systems? That’s the one I use on my rp2+ looks incredible
I would definitely prefer the rg353m over the retroid pocket 2 + power wise I would say the same or close to each other Dreamcast was used with no frameskip added but it’s not to say it’s already on? I did not notice it if was as it was so smooth…I loved the rg353v, I can definitely say this RG353M is my new go to for on the go gaming now. I will do a video on 16 bit video for it and use definitely filters buddy
My PS1 is lagging on the RG 353M and heard you can change the retroarch from 16 to 32 bit to improve this. Do you have any idea how I can do this please?!
If you go in to settings and pre system configuration, and change the core for psx in the options, once you start it up…hit start! Go to game setting…then near the bottom should be pre system configuration go in to it and then you have a list of all systems go to ps1 and then you should be able to change core or emulator. Hope this helps, let me know if that works for you
@@SonicLoveEmulation Thanks but I've tried the different emulators already and it changes nothing, I'm using duckstation at the minute, even the playstation start up sound stutters a bit!
Not sure why it should, I will check on mine but I don’t think I had any issues with it…the only other thing it could be is bios file…and the only other thing I can recommend is changing the firmware maybe
Personally I would go for the Anbernic RG405V it’s quite powerful and is on sale for around £133 nice 4 inch screen and plays up to some GameCube and Wii and ps2 games all sega Saturn games run well and so dose psp and Dreamcast games get from here just look up RG405V 3 different colours
I've noticed DS games have some fps/sound issues on this device when launching through Linux. If you want to play DS games on this device I suggest making use of the dualOS feature (android) to play them comfortably.
Good video i have 351m and am looking to something that can atleast play dreamcast sport games with no hick up but in a perfect world something that can run ps2 ncaa 07
Metal shell huh.. Woohoo lol Nice handheld if you are after a small pocketable device. I see they have inline shoulder buttons instead of going with stacked ones, to bad but I guess with a small device its not as much of a problem cause its easy to reach. Oh, and no giant Anbernic logo on the front.. +1 for that.
I will do the android side of the rg353m and if there is anything else you wish to see let me know in the comments
Hello
Sonic love! If there is a TV outlet, can you show it!?
I also love Bonk 3!
So I just purchased one of these. Could you please tell me how to save games to my favorites list😅

Yes a very well made handheld and not the most powerful handheld out there but it dose a very good job….I like it
So in love with my rg353m. Feels so good in my hands. My one and only complaint is that it's a bit too heavy.
Hi is it better than the rg353v ?

Definitely a bargain
Nice! Thank You! 😎
Oh! Fantastic the way this video end! 😀
Thank you for watching
Really liking the look of this handheld , I’ve been redoing my 350M with the Adam firmware and it makes a massive difference.
Not tried that yet but might check it out and this is definitely a good one not the most powerful but still a solid handheld
very happy with my 350, first and "cheap" model, with adam image, awesome firmware, never had an issue
Me too but I would like to try batocera on rg350m but will that even be possible?
@@onkelhiphop , not heard about Batocera on the device
Yo~ cool view~have a good one!🤟
thanks man
Great content bud, cheers.
Much appreciated

This is best Anbernic device by far
you might be right

Sorry the right name of the shader is “gtu-v050” under crt

I've purple one, I mostly use Android side Daijishu. Hail SLE.
oh right cool have to check that out
Did you install batocera or it came with it? Awesome video.
thank you, batocera is stock os and I added ArkOS as it runs Saturn and Dreamcast better I think
Is it easy to install ArkOS?
It comes with botecera.
Really nice ,it looks nice in blue too, does it come with arkos system sonic
no sadly, it comes with Batocera…but ArkOS is readily available to it just flash it to a sd card and you are good to go
Great video does it play gta etc smooth
What gta games and on what emulator buddy
@@SonicLoveEmulation ah playstation maybe or psp . I have a choice of this console or the rg353v not sure what to get lol what would you recommend ...
How much is your spend cost? In pounds or dollars?
@@SonicLoveEmulation I can get the rg353v for £112 pounds . Brand new Or the you have reviewed 2nd hand great condition for £100 pounds.

You need to try the new Gamma Os for the console
Ya man I checked it out it’s not bad at all
I cant decide this or the the 353p?
Both are very good it’s the same but one is metal so it’s just a personal choice of what you want to have
RG353V became too cramped for me. Got a RG353M for $70 on Ebay practically brand new open box.
@@jamiemorgan3649 that's a bargain man
Is the controller good? Better feeling than Powkiddy x18s?
yes the Hal sticks are very good but it’s not as powerful as the Powkiddy x18S though
Have you heard much about the rumors of the RG405?
just seen pictures so far not much els but be interesting to see more about the rg404
Good video i have 351m and am looking to something that can atleast play dreamcast sport games with no hick up but in a perfect world something that can run ps2 ncaa 07
Thanks man I will be doing a ps2 long play video and I will see if I can get that game in there to test
Hello. What name first person shooter GBA?
James Bond
@@SonicLoveEmulation Thank You.
which game at 13:25?
007 for the gba
Hi, do you have any issues with android when sd card larger than 64Gb is inserted in second slot ?
I have a 124 in mine. No problems.
Metal shell huh.. Woohoo lol

Yes definitely no big huge logo always a plus in my opinion. It’s a ideal handheld to take on the go this one
Does this connect to the tv?
I want this Handheld so bad but my funds are almost non-existent. 😭
I feel your pain and ya man it’s a great little handheld
Still not paid your heating bills? 😁
Ha ha
Can this play 3DS games?
No buddy 3ds is a tough one to emulate I would say so far only the oden pro can run some games well but that still dose not run everything
@@SonicLoveEmulation Ah, that's a shame. Thanks for the info!
