I know this is an older vid, but hopefully you still get notices for the comments. Did the Blackouts counteract any of the Flying V's very neutral tone profile? I have a Gothic series Gibson V with an EMG 81/60 set and it seemed to have no tone at all compared to my explorers at first. I came to appreciate that it just has a very mid/mid-high focus, and have been looking for a more low-focused pup. The Blackouts seem to have more lows and scoop some of the mids, which I hope will allow my V to mimic some of the punchy resonance from my other Gibsons. What are you thoughts, if you wouldn't mind sharing? I know we're sort of comparing apples to pears here since I have an older production V and you have a custom shop, but I'm thinking some of the tonal characteristics might be similar enough. I've had Blackouts in several of my guitars, and yes they will bring out more low end punch compared to the emg's.
