Super helpful. I just ordered a LS-284CEX with integrated leveling base. Your video was very helpful to me. Thank you.

I'm using the Urban 284CT. Solid products, excellent built quality. Definitely up there with Gitzo,RRS and Manfrotto. Infact Leophoto have a pletora of accessories that you can select base on your camera equipment specs. Best of all the price is way way cheaper from those I mentioned above

Which Leofoto tripod and head combo would you recommend for someone shooting landscapes and waterfalls, I shoot using Fujifilm xt30 and 55-200 although at some point I may upgrade to a XT3, I dont want to break the bank but do want a nice sturdy support.

These look to be well made but their designs are pretty blatant copies of Really Right Stuff. The prices, however, are much less (as much by half) and they include extras such as bags and spiked feet, which RSS does not. I’m surprised they haven’t run afoul of patent infringement issues but, since the quality is comparable, I’m tempted to give them a try. (I have an RSS travel tripod that I really love but, at the cost, is probably the only one of theirs that I’ll ever be able to afford.)

patent infringement in China. Yeah right. Good luck with that.

Good on them. Selling a travel tripod for $1500 is insane and I cant believe its sustainable.

Had RRS bothered to patent their BH series' distinguishing features, they'd be able to stop the sale of Leofoto products in key markets like the UK, North America and much of the rest of Asia. From what I've read, however, RRS never patented the features in question, and their continued silence suggests that's probably true.
Of course, RRS pretty obviously copied Gitzo's Systematic tripods, and likely other competitor features (if not entire products), and somewhat ironically, a number of new Chinese companies are now "knocking off" the same products that built Leofoto, and for significantly less money (Artcise being the most notable).

Very informative - thanks for the nomenclature explanation! Now can someone please explain the meaning and history of “faf”?

It's a British phrase - to "faff" is to waste time doing very little. "Faff" comes from the 17th century word "faffle," which means to flap about in the wind. "We were just faffing about."

Debating between two tripods: Leofoto 223c OR Leofoto 253. Really on the fence on which one to get ... I mainly see the 253 giving you 1 ft extra height (not sure if its worth it). Anyone has experience with either? any help or advice would be much appreciated. (mainly looking to use it for low angles, especially milkway/sunset). Thanks!

Great video. Just found Leofoto tripods. I’m looking at the Leofoto LS-324 with the LH40:head. What do you think of this with a Nikon d750 with a 70-200 or 200-500 or 150-600?

Ohh damn, my LeoFoto tripod is missing that miserable stick in the center...
But those claw feet look capable to serve for self defense.

    Another Chinese knockoff?

    • @LondonCameraExchange

Without sounding like a salesperson, these are the polar opposite of 'another Chinese knockoff' - the design, engineering and quality of the LeoFoto range are superb and definitely something you should head in-store to see first hand. I promise that you won’t be disappointed.
