This is the most compelling Game of Thrones theory!
Rohit Singh See, the "Wall" is the immune system and the "Night's Watch" your white blood cells. Most of the time you want the Watch to keep out the bad stuff "The Others" Sometimes though, the 'bad stuff" isn't really 'bad' just misunderstood like "the Wildlings" your replacement lungs. So, it's probably best they just co-exist. Every now and then your body "realm" is attacked and in order to save itself, it picks a dangerous ally by giving you a fever "calling in the Dragons". Though that can lead to positive results, it sometimes requires a way of harnessing the savage attack, "Daenerys". Yadda, yadda, yadda Ramsay Snow is somehow both your dick and your asshole...
@@fictionmyth 6 years later I still wish Ramsay *was* both
Thanks 😆
You guys should watch darkviperau
L
11 years later & Rhaenys is going to need a heck of a lot more than a lung transplant!
hahahahaa
In the Game of Thrones books, Prince Rhaegar Targaryen was noted to be "breathing easier" is there evidence to suggest that he got a lung transplant from the Maesters?
Robert tried to him a lung transplant on the trident where he replaced the lungs with a breastplate.
I have cystic fibrosis and am almost at my 17th year bi-lateral lung transplant anniversary. I have had chronic rejection for 14 years but am still alive. I am considered unique for the fact that my chronic rejection stabilized 14 years ago and I now breathe at 30%, which is 14% percent better than before my transplant. Since it is so rare for organs to last this long the best the Doctors can come up with is that your body can in some instances become used to the new transplanted organ and stop trying to kill it so much. That does not mean your body won't attack the new organ, just that it is less likely. Bodies whose organs have lasted this long semi-accept the new organ as part of the body, but if I were to stop taking my anti-rejection medicine I would die, so nobody get any ideas about not taking your rejection medicine. I did have a dear friend who had a transplant as well but she only survived 4 years. It was 4 years of being able to breathe though and I know she would not have given it up. Thank you for this video.
That is awesome! My nephew has CF and is looking into getting a lung transplant now. It's great to hear that they sometimes work out really well.
Hey
How are you doing
Are you still alive?
How are you doing? The silence is worrying
Best to you friend. I too have recently had a Lung Transplant 3 years ago...and hope the very best for you (also Cystic Fibrosis patient.)
Alt Shift X is the coolest channel on youtube. Really love what you do.
I'm watching this video while waiting for the Season 6 Episode 10 explanation one.
I'm doing the same thing for the last season's last episode.
@@santiagopichiringo8476i am doing the same tho I am not literally for Season 2 finale of HOTD .
same here while waiting for the house of the dragon season 2 finale
I'm almost at my 20 year mark with my new lungs! I have been diagnosed with Bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome but second transplant isn't in the near future for me yet because I'm still doing well. My doctors say that I'm a very special case 😂
I hope you're still alive Amanda!
Where did you have it done?
Solution: Give people HIV before organ transplants. No immune system means no rejection! Nobel prize please.
Mark Wahlberg well, not really. HIV is known to cause various forms of cancer and brain inflamation. Its not that simpe m8.
Zatroskany yeah forms of cancer and brain inflamation! But mostly about 99.99% aids.
Metrallata
yeah but looks like he is aware of the AIDS. Not of the others.
Mark Wahlberg HIV also can have a 20 or more year incubation period.
That might not be a completely insane idea
Dude people like you need to be teaching.
***** You can thank forced education for that. If you have a class where people voluntarily sign up because they want to learn something. Its a great experience for all. If you get a class full of people just trying to get their required credits or even worse a public school full of kids from the ghetto with absolutely zero intention of learning anything its going to suck for everyone.
Jason Cates 5 year olds tend to lack the drive to enroll themselves in schools. Also education is powerful. Better education almost always improves both the economy and HDI (education is endogenous to HDI but it seems to also influence all the other aspects positively).
This is a really nice video, great animation and great explanations. Loved the humour in it too. Please make some more! Especially physics related stuff! (If you can of course) You could be the next khan academy
+Taeshawndretta Brown Thank you! I hope to do more educational stuff in future.
+Alt Shift X This video describes transplant in general, right? Mayhaps you want to describe more in the lung aspect?
This is really cool and I agree you should do more educational stuff along with of course the GoT stuff XD
@@AltShiftX sweet summer child
@@whiskerskibou8647he did make that video about religion so so 👀
This was so good! I too have cystic fibrosis (wonderful to see the comments below), and am nearing transplant time...it's great to see one of my favorite youtube channels (GoT fan) start off on a note like this. Well done Alt Shift X! Much appreciated.
Good luck to you, i'm 1.7 yrs out from a double lung trans. I've had 1 cronic and 1 t cell rejection. Theres alot about post life they don't tell you. Staying away from people, wear a mask almost always, dietary restrictions, skin cancer is your new adversary. You are tied to pricey meds and the hospital. Its a existance not a new lease on life, im not suggesting anything to you but in my case, not worth it.
Just got my Lung Transplant! 6 weeks out...and feeling AMAZING! I posted on this video years ago under "Analog Waves." Good stuff man...So nice to feel this light in the lungs now.
@Vedant K I really appreciate you asking. I am!
@@mickeydavis5157 are you still still alive ?_?
@@mickeydavis5157this was alt shift x’s first video
how are you my friend
did a maester record this video?
I will be at Ten years for my transplant on July 11. My Doctors seem to think that I have beat the odds but......................Oh well , be happy!
+James Amann As a former transplant nurse, I understand what a milestone this will be. May you continue in good health. How important do you find regimen compliance to be?
Well m8 There is a good new for you they say ....
WhatS Dead May Never Die !!!!!!
James Amann God Bless!!!!
How are you doing?
It's cool to watch this video and now and see how well of a vloger you're become after watching all your song of ice and fire videos. Keep it up! I love your stuff!
Thank you so much for making this video! It's really simple to understand and promotes organ donation awareness, yay! I'm a double lung transplant recipient and an organ donor. I don't know what organs could be procured from my body, but I'm still a donor, and I'm thankful to MY donor for giving me more time with loved ones. Donate Life!
You are the greatest I love your ASOIAF theories and you even made this intersting
I have 20 great ASOIAF theories, literally, if you are looking for a partner for one video. I founded and run the Q@ora space A Theory of Ice and Fire (same as here) and I have created some theories like Arthur Dayne is Lancelot and Rhaegar and Dany’s father; Aria will go to King’s Landing and steal Arriane Martel’s face; Theon is a greenseer and it’s why he hears Bran talk to him through the tree, and it’s Theon who will go into a tree eventually to stay instead of Bran; Jaqen is the real Aegon VI who got switched for Young Griff at Illyrio’s Manse at age 9 (Arya’s when the story starts); the series will end with the wedding of Jon to Sansa or Jaqen to Arya mirroring Aragorn’s wedding to Arwen and Henry Tudor to Elizabeth York.
If ever make a decent enough amount of money I'll invest a lot of it in this channel could see this becoming similar to crash course. You're doing good.
I'm here 9 yrs from the future......so here's what went down.
Game of thrones series
COVID-19
House of the dragon series
I love how his old videos are like "Here's about everything about the lungs in animals" to him giving the full lore of cookie clicker
very helpful coincidence that i find out this was your first video just days before my physiology exam. i appreciate the phagocyte.
I'm here from eight years in the future. I discovered this channel from its all tomorrows vid, and the transformation is amazing. What a cool range of content
I don't like making comparisons, but you are like the Australian CGP Grey
This was really interesting. My husband has early-stage lung cancer, and I was wondering why nobody had even suggested a lung transplant (apart from the obvious shortage of donors) as a future possibility, but had not asked thus far. I had not realised how low the odds were of long-term survival after a lung transplant. Now I understand why this isn't really a viable option for my husband, who may well live another 10 years just on regular chemotherapy.
You're a good narrator, and obviously very knowledgeable (both in science and in GoT!).
Hope he got well
Walter Hartwell White
this is why we need bio printing. no rejection it's theirs.
all of your videos are awesome man. thanks a lot
Bruh you should make more videos like this it was definitely fascinating!!!
“You really don’t need your organs once you’re dead” is my justification for cruelty squad
ah so this must be a prequel to the Bolton skin changing theory.
If only we could grow a persons own lungs from stem cells :P
Yeah
I know you have a life and everything, but please make more videos. At least weakly :D
This was so informative and watchable!
Really great videos. I liked your R+L=J one alot. Very fun and informative.
This feels like a school projecr
I love your channel man. So good.
i watched this for no apparent reason drunk asl and its interesting daw
AH! You're australian. I was trying to pin down your accent in other videos ._.
I hope we get a way to clone organs soon so we can avoid transplant rejection
unassumption But...but...that would require stem cell research AAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!
John Lennon LOL, that is the ultimate irony, people who often say that they want to protect life dont want stem cell research.
+Zatroskany And I will bet 99% of those don't even understand how stem cells are harvested.
I was here
Exurbia made another banger of a video here
Yes, but what about Dany and her dragons
Ok, so i just watched the last of your videos, please make more :)
Could u just keep replacing the lungs then? It sounds like the damage is just to the lungs so could u not just replace the lungs every 3 or so years and make the rejection not a problem?
Note: I'm aware there isn't enough extra lungs to do that. I'm just saying if there was would that work?
is this like a final project or something?
Very infomative! now i need to stop smoking😧
We need a remake of those videos with better audio and animation
Not sure whether you're still into explaining medical stuff. But I'd really appreciate your superbly developed video-making crafts for some more videos on organs, neuroimaging (!!) or whatever, even corona vaccines. I know Kurzgesagt have some of it covered, but from what I've seen so far, I bet, you'd have one or two more topics up your sleeve on which the internet is still missing proper explanation videos ;-)
“The immune system being a xenophobic bastard”
Lol 😂
I found this video a little bit depressing as someone who was transplanted 7 years ago at 20, tick tock tick tock.
As a recipient of heart and double lungs, going on 8 1/2 years, I can tell you I personally know many, many lung and heart & double lung transplant recipients who are more than 10 even 20 years out! Try an focus on the positive aspects. Your heaviest artillery is your will to live. Keep that big gun going!
+margi inskeep Well I think I read that the major risk period is the first months/year after transplant. So your prognosis is probably much better than the empirical one for all cases!
Yes, the major risk period is the first 6 months to a year. Most everyone deals with organ rejection at least once during that time. I had rejection once 3 months post which was treated with a three day course of Solumedrol. I have been lucky and not had rejection since. Everyone is different.
Never knew Demon Slayer's breathing lessons are part of Westeros lore
Very good! Easy to understand.
😂😂call me weird but I love his humour/sarcasm
Dude.. Hemsworth, the aussie Viking (who I discovered was aussie after watching the Raised By Wolves (a show I previously did not know about about 38 minutes ago) summary here), and now this guy - but also Holden, original Mad Max and Midnight Oil - I am starting to think the genes of killers, thieves and looters, muxed with local shamans, are accounting to something. Wait, isn't Nicole Kidman also one of the exported killers and looters?
haha you were such a noob back then XD
good progress, very impressive
I don't consider this noobish at all tbh
it is... it is...
but watch his latest videos, you will see the difference i am talking about, he progressed immensely.
its ok to be a noob when you start, as a matter of fact, you have to be a noob when you start... its not an insult, its natural, and i was just poking fun at how it was back then and how good it is now.
beepIL ^But he isn't . What you consider noobish is only a pinch of humor.
Ok
sweet now i can give my dad a lung transplant!
This reminds me a lot of kurz ge sagt, it's funny that you posted your first video ( this) 1 month before their first video (on evolution),
Just wanted to say I think your videos are very well done.
P.S. "In a Nutshell" copied you. (just kidding, but not really, but maybe, maybe.)
just plz invent proper and stable mechanical lungs (and hearts) already science, i will embrace being a cyborg when the time comes and my puny organic body begins to fail me
krissmus ****This
thanx
De todas formas
Cool adobe flash animation friend, did you use C++ or Basic?
Now I don’t wanna be an organ donor. Holy hell being unhealthy sucks, give me a clean death any day.
The first video on the channel
Great video, apart from the first bit; breathing is not respiration.
Got here from Doppler's video, to which I got from the "R+L=J" video :)
Hold up, I always always thought you were a kiwi! No?!
A small green fruit with a furry exterior or a small bird native to New Zealand?
You know, I disagree with Cumpanions, your older videos are pretty decent too
Smoked a ciggy to this, and liked 👍
Can we get more educational videos?
makes sense
great animation+explanation
What iteration of Watchmen is this about?
*heard his voice*... thinks: he's probably an ass. lol great vid.
does an imune imparing deseise like aids fix tht problem?
Our technology evolves faster than our primitive bodies.
POG !
If the jus secretly lung transplanted the dragon he couldn't breathe fire.
Thank you
violent removal with a rusty spoon :P
I was born with cystic fibrosis I had mu double lung transplant 26 years September 20th 2018 😁😁
So, are you survive or not?
Great video,
Nice art, good information, just try to get les monotone with your voice.
Great channel, sub'd!
Great vid, i really liked it!
good vid, keep up the good work!
The zipper body mods to show off a terrible monster mouth is disgusting

You can have living lung transplants, don't ask me how it works exactly I only get the gist of it. My mum is trying to help my friend who needs one, I'd do it but I've just had a kidney transplant and I'm not allowed shame :( x
*lip smack*
Sorry, mate.
Are a registered donor yourself?
It would be hypocritical for him to be advocating people to donate their organs if he wasn't a registered donor.
interesting
looks nasty bro
like x10
What the shit did I just watch
1:49 !!! :D
You're Australian?
"So, these are the lungs. They are vital organs in tetrapods." Incorrect. Lots of amphibians have vestigial lungs.
Are you a doctor? My girlfriends a doctor and she likes song of ice and fire. Just curious.
I'm not a doctor, no
Andy Botros your girlfriend? nice save man

👌✌👍
oh shit what up, new most recent comment as of 8:16pm in the hoouuuse!!
Would getting HIV stop your from experiencing organ rejection.
Yes actually. However if you take aids medication you'll experience organ rejection again
