    Bro's using a calculator to find delay time. This truly is math rock

  • @gpeddino
    @gpeddino 4 месяца назад +5

    The way Jonny hits the strings with his hands between each note helps to settle the downbeat throughout the song, and also creates as a percussive effect.

    Thank you for this video bro. This is one of my favourite songs so far this year and it’s awesome to see detailed, quality content like this. Please do speech bubbles!

    Jonny invented a new style for the rock's guitar ? A bit influenced by Steve Reich and electro?

    • @GuitarLivesThru
      @GuitarLivesThru  4 месяца назад +3

      @@davidfrenay8755 hmm..off top I can’t think of any guitar players that have based their whole style off such heavy use of delay. The Edge maybe? lol but that’s so different

    Awesome tutorial. There seems to be the belief that the song is played with 744/779ms delay (fluffy momo) and now 793ms. How much does it really matter and what would be the correct one? 744ms was admittedly fast when I tried playing the guitar to the original song.

    • @GuitarLivesThru
      @GuitarLivesThru  7 месяцев назад +1

      What you hear in the video is 793. I believe it to be accurate! I think if you’re 10-20ms off it shouldn’t make too much of a difference

    • @kaibevan4425
      @kaibevan4425 7 месяцев назад

      live is a lil faster, so fluffy probably was basing his timings on the live versions. you have to adjust depending on the tempo of the track youre playing along with. thats why you're better off getting a delay with tap tempo, so you can set it yourself according to the rhythm youre playing along to rather than calculating it for one specific track.

    • @GuitarLivesThru
      @GuitarLivesThru  7 месяцев назад +1

      @@kaibevan4425 You guys there’s a whole section in the video going over this in detail lol. Yes, it’s true if you are comfortable tapping you’re own delays in it may be faster, but if not just watch that and you’ll know what to do 👍

    I've been practicing this song a lot today and my top knuckles are reddish because I mute hitting them into the strings, I probably shouldn't do that lol but to make sure, exactly what part of your hand is muting the strings every beat ?

    • @GuitarLivesThru
      @GuitarLivesThru  7 месяцев назад

      Yikes! That doesn't sound good. Try not to make a fist with your hand as you're playing and it should solve the knuckle thing. Also, keep your thumb straight-ish. Little hard to articulate what part of my hand is muting the strings, but basically if you're looking directly at your hand it's like the U shape on the edges extending from the tip of your pinky down to the bottom of your hand and then up to the thumb. Like the smiley face that outlines the bottom of the hand

    • @sepi_
      @sepi_ 7 месяцев назад

      Just slightly pluck the first 2 strings with your thumb and the 3rd one with your index/middle finger thats how jonny does it
