Just getting back into plastic models after a 35 year break. Your videos are wonderful, and are helping me to relearn old skills, and learn new ones. I have just ordered this same kit, but I have a number of other kits I don't care much about to practice on before attempting the BF-109. And like Tom W said, I'm pretty sure I built this same kit back in the 70's. I was probably around 10 or 11 years old then!
Btw.. be carefull when placing the socond half of the wings and the seam line.. you can do a good job covering it but if you do some pressure or pick the model by the tip of the wing... that putty breaks and the seam opens
Actually Alex I made a mistake at this stage when I put those parts on. Being inexperienced with aircraft models I put too much pressure on with clamp. I have a section of the wing that has a dip in it near the flaps. Oops ! I am hoping it won't be too noticeable. I have learnt my lesson. Btw. U got some good tips in seam lines from watching your vid mate.
Armour Empire thanks! And dont worry about that seam line i was inexperienced too because its not a usual fit.. usually is on the wing root with the fuselage!
G'Day Alex. To add to all the comments here, this is the first vid of yours I've watched and I thoroughly enjoyed it! The skit at the end was hillarious! I've learnt a lot from watching and I must say that your video editing is excellent, one of the best I've seen in the business. Thanks for putting these up. I've not built a model in about 20 years! I've gone a bit nuts and bought a heap of Mr Hobby paints and an Iwata Eclipse HP-CS airbrush plus a few kits so I'm all set to start again. I've been educating myself for about 6 weeks now and haven't even cut a pieve off the spru yet. Wow times have sure changed since I was a kid! Back then if you could find a book to teach you techniques you couldn't afford it! The youtube/forum age has made things so much better :-) Cheers mate.....she looks awesome! Edit: And your music selection suited the film perfectly.....very nice!
Thanks Alex. After a long and rubbish day at work, I've spent a very pleasant hour watching you build your Gustav. Great result on your model! And a good result for me too as I can feel the modelling interest flowing again. Lovely build and vid. Cheers mate.
You obviously put a lot of work into the model and the video, well done and thank you for sharing. I miss building plastic model kits. Many fond memories of success and failiure, only competing with your own expectations.
It is absolutely beautiful work Alex. It is magazine worthy that is for sure. You should definitely put this into a show if you get the opportunity. I think this one may be a medal winner.
Absolutely brilliant ending! It was the "rivet counters" that sucked the life out of the hobby for me. Someday I hope to get back into it when time permits. Thanks for the efforts to develop an instructional video to share you techniques with others. Of course, I'm sure you're being paid handsomely for doing so. ;)
Even tough i don’t like revell, for obvious reasons, you did a great job! I started a trumpeter 1/32 bf 109 E4 and the quality of the kit is fantastic!
oh my, you made a german here very happy :) what a beauty, she is stunning! i have thes ame kit in my stash, now my fingers are itching. love the rivet counter discussion and the engine start scene :)
Hallo Alex, I restarted building kits and I enjoy very much your uploads how to build airplanes. Their are a big help for me and I have learned a lot. Keep on going!!! You're top!!!
Great video Alex, I really enjoyed the whole build, and moreover I'll be usimg this as a reference for when I get to build my G6. I had a good laugh at the end with your alter ego! :) Thank you for sharing!
Carlos meu amigo obrigado por tudo.. e por tudo tu sabes o que é. . A i n tro e tudo não era possivel se... thanks for watching... ah e fico contente q tenhas gostado do gemeo... :) Abraco
Lovely and gave lots of ideas. Only problem is its not easy to read the names of the colors when you show the bottles. Something like captions would make videos much more easy to follow. Hope you dont mind me giving you this little advice. But all the rest is great :)
Hello Alex, the color of the propeller blades on German aircraft was RLM 70 black-green. The bulletproof glass was installed on the inside of the G variants. Bulletproof glass outside were available for the F variants😉👍
....Your Most Welcome Amigo..!...I have to Many Models to build...It's beyond Me.! ...As of Yesterday...I started to Build a 1/72 scale Blue Angels from Italeri....Looks easy....Should have it done by weeks end...
Absolutely beautiful! I wish I had a fraction of your talent. I wouldnt listen to that guy sitting on the lounge with you. He's just bitter and twisted that he doesn't have your skill and craftsmanship!
A few Fit & Filling Issues, You have As Always Rose to the Challenge, Gr8 Job!! Bought Kit Myself Now. Keep Making Us All Smile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have no shortage of kits so will probably do some double- tripple- or even quadruple builds.. who knows! Then again, I was supposed to have built a lot of 1/48 scale stuff THIS year and that didn't happen.. so we have to wait and see.. :)
AlexModeling Ha ha ha ha ha... when I win the lottery, Alex... when I win the lottery!!! :) For some reason my wife won't let me kick my son out and take over his room.. (don't know why he can't sleep in the car??) so for now I have to carry on storing my builds as best I can.. :)

No problem... you know what? You just gave me the idea for my next video... and i thank you.. you will see after:) no my friend i would never be ofended by positiv criticism! And i thank you for that... and you are righ... i had to work a lot on that seam line after the major cluster f**** i ve made;) everuthyng is ok now and she is recovering just fine... thank YOU!:)
Certainly a prefect build! What kind of rope or string do you use for the wires that connect the cockpit, the antenna and the tail? And how do you glue that?
+Martin Jovanic hello! Thank you for your comment... i melted a plastic sprue rod with a lighter and stretched it creating a thin wire.. the i glued it with some CA glue:)
“Fuckin rivet counters.” Love it! Too damn funny! Despite the rivet counters opinions, like everyone else I think it looks great. Love how you use a sponge to show paint chips. I’ll have to try that on my next airplane. Thank you for sharing, Cheers!

It would have been really nice if you had given us all of the details about this build like the different paints and every little detail. But it look awesome by the way!
Eu acho o bf 109 um avião muito bonito. Não se prestava muito em combate, principalmente as versões finais, mas era bonito e os esquemas de decoração e camuflagem muito bacanas.
Mr.Alex, hahahaha, great vid, love it, and as always a very great bild, very good for a man of your kaliber, hahaha, two thumbs up and stay well mine friend
Yes the detail in the cockpit is much better but the rudder & wings are needlessly complicated. In addition, the original kit had only three pieces that made up the propeller (a one piece three blade prop, the prop boss & a back plate that fit into the prop boss) what detail advantage is gained by having to affix each propeller blade into the prop back plate?
excellent video, thanks for sharing, pre-shading is still bit of a challenge for me. Do you recommend the cup style airbrush over the bottle?? I tend to hand brush the smaller models in any case. Also I have not tried photo etch yet, it looks remarkable. Thanks again Alex
Yes i do recommend the cup. .. you should try pre shading... once you get the hand of it its very cool to watch the kit gain character... thank YOU for watching
Alex, you took a kit with obvious fit issues and made a showpiece out of it. Great work brother!
thanks:)

Great looking 109 Alex!! really enjoy how you use alot of different techniques as well as alot of different products..
My pleasure to assist Clint!
I built the an original one of these in the '70's. Movable control surfaces, retractable landing gear, detailed cockpit, & scale engine
I Still have the Matchbix One with the Verlinden resin and metal extras
Lovely and gave lots of ideas. Only problem is its not easy to read the names of the colors when you show the bottles. Something like captions would make videos much more easy to follow. Hope you dont mind me giving you this little advice. But all the rest is great :)
i actually had thought that but i was thinking that if we put the video on pause that would be able to see.. thank you for your sugestion!:)
Keep in mind we lazy bones are a-plenty: the effort to pause.... lol.
Excellent work on this famous fighter!
Thanks Alex:)
Excellent build and video with a great ending. Thank you.

Love it Alex! The ending very funny! Rivet counters who needs them! Always check out your video if i am buying a new kit!
glad you like it! :)
It's so satisfying to see these models done well, I'm looking for an airbrush for myself because I like to spray paint things because it's so much neater than a standard brush
John Fisher good luck on your modeling adventures :)
AlexModeling Thank you very much and do you need to use thinner when using an air brush? I'm assuming you do because spray paints have thinner in them
+John Fisher i mix 50 50 ratio paint and thinner either acrilic or enamel and pour it on tge airbrush cup
AlexModeling What type of airbrush do you suggest for me because I have been looking at cheap starter kits under £40
Awesome build alex thanks for sharing
Really high quality work. Well done.
+Timurlane100 Thanks:)

Mestre é mestre. Parabéns pelo trabalho!!!
really enjoyed watching, awesome work. thx
Great job on the 109!
thank you!:)
A really nice built! Keep the good work going
I guess the one Alex thinks it should be thrown out the
window, eh?
Great workmanship again Alex.
That gap at the aft section, underneath was quite the shocker to see.
I like the build along format, works pretty good.
Again, great looking build.
underneath its not a gap Dave. 109s were built in half sections and joined on the fuselage with that line.. up and below! thanks
Yes sir it was.
I thought I had seen one you had puttied in front of the tail wheel.
All these videos, hard to keep 'em straight.

Alex
Please, I believe what I said has been misconstrued.
I meant nothing critical of your workmanship.
I have always admired your work, your output,
and very jealous of your good looks.
I never noticed the colors switched around.
And am sorry to hear your Grand Father is not feeling his best.
Maybe, I should have elaborated just a pinch.
I was surprised for a modern kit, that didn't fit
that well, in that spot and you did a wonderful job of fixing what was given to you.
Certainly no critique of your build by any stretch of the imagination.
If I've slighted you in the least, it was not my intention. I would not be able to apologize enough, in both of our lifetimes.
I mean that sincerely.

Thanks for the video.
Tank YOU for watching it my friend
Love your videos. I pick up some tip off of each. Excellent work. Thanks. atb
BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Thanks
Thank you Alex!!
You're very skillful and I enjoyed this. One thing I noticed was the wing crosses on top should have been closer to the fuselage.
u r a real artist
David Cai thank you for your kind words... im just a modeler:)
Awesome job on the 109!! Very cool love it 😊
Great video. Had to order the simiular kit myslef! Will paintbrush it, can't compare with you're build thou! :)
+AlexModeling Thank you for taking the time to explain!
Keep up the good work :)
+Martin Jovanic my pleasure! Thanks
To chime in. I use a light gauge guitar string E. .o9
The model looks great! and the last part was awesome! :D haha
Glad you like it!:)
“Fuckin rivet counters.” Love it! Too damn funny! Despite the rivet counters opinions, like everyone else I think it looks great. Love how you use a sponge to show paint chips. I’ll have to try that on my next airplane. Thank you for sharing,
Cheers!
Thumbs up, glad to see the historically accurate Swastika on the tail!
Wow! Very Good Job !
Good Job Alex
nice work Alex.
makes me want to start working on mine. ^^
Go ahead and start!
Damn it. Now i need to get this one along with some Finnish decals. I'll have Unknown Soldier playing on a loop in the background while I'm building for extra patriotism ;)
Also Alex, you're not far from 20000 subscribers, congrats!
Yeah... i think im not doing completly bad aroumd here.. True... didn t noticed that until you brought it to my atention believe it or not
Many if not most Finnish cities don't even have 20000 people in them, so you could say you have an entire small city watching your videos now.
Thats an interesting concept... never though of it like this... im no plasmo thats for sure... small cities on Finlând?
Finland has about 6 million people. 1.5 million live near the capital, we call it pääkaupunkiseutu, which consists of Helsinki (capital), Vantaa, and Espoo. There are some big cities outside of it though, for example Turku, Tampere and Oulu. Rest of the population lives in smaller cities.

THIS LOOKS AWESOME !!!
Thank you!!:)
Welcome! You have great channel !
glad you like it!:) honest!
Well done!
LetThereBeLoud bitch
For future reference. You’re supposed to leave the center section of the fuel tube clear. That’s why it’s cast in clear plastic.
Thank you!
That is a complete perfection and the model must be a late bf109 G 6
Eu acho o bf 109 um avião muito bonito. Não se prestava muito em combate, principalmente as versões finais, mas era bonito e os esquemas de decoração e camuflagem muito bacanas.
You sir have a talent
Edward thank you so much for yoir kind comment! Im humble... thank YOU
Your welcome
Mr.Alex, hahahaha, great vid, love it, and as always a very great bild, very good for a man of your kaliber, hahaha, two thumbs up and stay well mine friend

I am new whiff modeling so hoop to learn from you 👍
The three sponges to hold the model.. Very clever.

From Lourinhã- very nice mottling job!
Lourinhã.. grande terra
Excelente vídeo, Alex! Estou começando no plastimodelismo e, espero, um dia, ter sua habilidade. Tenho muito a aprender.
+Alexandre Klafke vais chegar la Alex... eu ainda sou amador acredita! Abraço
Compared to the original Revell 1/32 scale kit this one is without a doubt needlessly more complicated.
I agree but its very good in detail and also very good to put together!:) thanks:)
GREAT BUILD
They sure are! That Nigel building the Titanic is the biggest of them all!
The blue bottle what glue ? Oh, and smart way of using a straw for the paint !
excellent video, thanks for sharing, pre-shading is still bit of a challenge for me.
Love the video .... just bought my first kit...
Dont know where to start though....
Academy apache scale 1\48
Follow the instructions step by step my friend... you can do it!
Just curious, is there another way to do that camouflage stuff in 33:47 without having to use that tool? And plus great build! :-)
great job !
