The way the show builds tension, you can feel the pressure rising from episode to episode. You will be uncomfortable at times, but the show is almost perfect. The cast and script are flawless.

When did you watch it?
For all of those who are still in doubt about what the show is about: Well, it's basically a dark comedy, with suspense undertones (because there's a body in the very first scene of the first episode and the audience don't know who is off all the characters), and is especially also a satire of 'white rich people problems', which of course there's almost no problem at all, only superficial and grotesque discussions and complaints and frustrations of basically nothing, while the staff of the hotel is having a complete meltdown. It's probably the most fun and entertainment show to watch this year. Oh yeah, and the cast is amazing!

@@danonck Yep. It is really good. It's a combination of Big Little Lies and Downton Abbey (the entire social and political thing, the rich and the poor people having a clash). It's incredible.

This comment section has taught me that no one knows what a trailer is for, or at least they’ve gotten used to bad trailers that spoil everything in 2 minutes. You aren’t supposed to know what’s happening, that’s why you watch the show… to figure it out!
@J K no, not exactly. Especially since the show is very clearly character driven… not plot driven. But obviously the trailer isn’t going to straight up tell you that. So, you have to watch the show to find out

no, most trailers at least give a general idea of what a movie is, is it horror is itt thriller is it a comedy, is it romance............... this seems like nothing with a littler bit of dark music over it.
This is how a trailer should be, intriguing and giving little to none away of the plot.
i don't think this is a good trailer at all. Its way too vague that it probably won't hit their desired target market. I'm all for intrigue but trailer should at least allude to the plot or the genre at least.
you mean like "The Event"? that show failed miserably after no one, not even the showrunners, know what the show was about after the first and only season.
Not all shows and movies are plot driven but rather character driven and story driven (yeah plot and story are two different things) hence why sometimes the trailers don't focus on plot necessarily.

If the audience doesn’t slightly understand the premise of the show then it’s not a good trailer. They gave me nothing to latch on to. I can’t think of a reason to watch.

@@zerokool-2058 My thoughts are that it tackles the wealth gap, if I had to pick just one issue anyway. The wealth dichotomy between the guests and the workers is there and then also in the honeymoon couple and also the girl's friend that came along with the family. There's many issues and whatnot and it doesn't always pick just one side of the problem, it does try to give each somewhat of a perspective, albeit for comical gain at some points.
@@hpbecraft Are there any episodes themed around 'influencers' taking free rides from 5-star resorts? That's a rich comedy vein waiting to be tapped. There's the wealth gap between staff and guests, and then another step down you have the bloggers and travel journos moving from resort to restaurant to resort living off the crumbs.

I decided the other day to give this show a shot out of pure boredom. Before I knew it, I binged the 1st 4 episodes. To me, this is one of the best new shows to come out in the past several years! I absolutely love one of the ongoing storylines with Jake Lacy's character and the guy who plays Armond.
But some characters are so wierd sometimes it looks uncomfortable to watch some scenes 😂😂
Yeah the last scene from Sundays episode definitely made me feel uncomfortable 🤣 that's HBO for ya though

Yes the Armond character is great (not just saying that coz im Australian and was amazed they actually let him keep his accent in it - US shows usually make them change it), but he was a great character who you really empathised with. And some of the hateable characters I really enjoyed too.

So... Downtown Abbey in modern day Hawaii, but funny? 🤔 I'm only asking because everyone is talking about it, and I want to know what all the fuzz is about. Either way, I'm going to have to watch it, because season 2 has Aubrey Plaza in it, and I'll watch anything she's in because she's awesome, and everything she does never disappoints.
I loved this series. It is innovative, unusual, profound, even ridiculous, it has everything, including the most awkward and cringemaking scenes ever.

Without doubt one of the best comedy dramas in many years. Completely original. It could go on and on because of the concept. New resorts, new guests. Brilliant.

This is perfection. Great casting, direction, editing, and the music is the best. The opening credits are the foreshadowing. Every plot twist, every angle, every sympathy, this series gets you hooked by how weird everything is when you scratch the surface. The resort manager and the lonely woman roles are brilliantly written and played.

Hi all, came to post that this is without a doubt the best series of 2021, came to me as a surprise. The casting is perfect and non pretentious, the writing brilliant and every episode is better than the last one. Adult and with a good directing this is a golden nugget. Usually i'm very critical and this is a fresh and healthy series for adults. enjoy it as much as I, i'm in the 4th episode and cannot wait for the next. Just hope they will know when to stop and not milk it too much.

Its Mike White, who made Enlightened, so you can expect comedy, drama and some great tension. Seriously watch Enlightened, that's gotta be one of the best shows ever.

This is one of the best series of 2022.A must watch series, hooked in 1 day, imagine all 6 episodes in one day. Briliiant masterpiece of Mike White.Above all, the music background is superb, something weird that you will love it till the end.

I've been looking for something to fill the void that the end of Succession S3 left and so glad to have found this. The pilot alone should be used as a case study in screenwriting classes. The level of screenwriting is top notch.

Apparently this will be an anthology series with a different cast next season, because of the show's success according to Wikipedia. I haven't seen the 1st season yet though I just came across this trailer and wanted to know a bit more about it.
If Pose is all about Elektra being involved with Drug Cartels that would be Fantastic.

I watched the series without watching trailer and after finished the series I wondered how could they represent this amazing show IN just 2MIN trailer.. this trailer couldn't capture the greatness of the series at all..
That trailer is a massive turn off and seems to completely confirm the negative reviews.
I guess that's a good thing because the trailer I just watched does absolutely nothing to make me want to see the series. Life is too short for this nonsense.
This was the most watchable, fun, refreshing show I’ve seen in a while, I pulled an all all-nighter and finished the first season in one sitting. You will laugh, cry, and cheer. The cast is amazing. Plus somebody takes a dump in a suitcase!

What is the tone of this show? The music makes it feel like it's supposed to be edgy and surreal and tense, but the performances and writing just feel like a comedy...
I heard it's a fairly dark/mean-spirited but still somehow heartfelt comedy/drama.

Mike White works are not so easy to define, which is nothing but a compliment. The series is certain to be funny, awkward, pointed and edgy, class conscious and insightful. All one needs to know is that this is made by the same artist who made “Enlightened,” one of the most criminally neglected series in TV history. That alone makes it must-see TV.
