I have a 2006 450X and this seems to be exactly the same wiring as my bike, been searching and searching then finally found this video. Thank you very much for the meticulous walk through and details.
Very helpful. Thank you. Just bought a used crf250X with a tusk street kit and an ignition key switch. Some of the components were not wired properly and this will help in putting the bike together.
This is amazing and so informative. It's exactly what I was needing to see.
This video helped me greatly!!
Very good explanation of everything! More 250x videos please! Thank you.

Good detailed explanation,it really helped me wire up my gas gas ignition switch thanks.. Another way would be to leave the factory connectors on the ignition switch and use connectors on the new green and white wires so the ignition can be changed easier if it develops a fault? Thanks for sharing 👌🏼
Could u give me advice I have crf 450f and I want to add a hidden on off switch, can I spice in to the kill switch on handle bars, anddo I spice afore the connection points,, HELP LOL
Does grounding the ignition (As in pressing the kill switch or having the key OFF) drain the battery at all?
Dose this stop it starting with kick start as well or only off button
Is this similar for a 230f 2005
very nice! finally can tackle this job for my CRF450X. Where did you end up mounting the switch? Any pix? Thanks Alex.
Currently it's still zip tied to the handlebars. I plan to 3D print a mount for it at some point.
What ignition switch did you buy
Great video!!! no more videos for the CRF250X??

@@ac38 where did you end up mounting the key ignition switch, if you upgraded your lighting system with LED lights? if so.. how did you make the connection?, maybe your thoughts/review on the overall bike.
@@jmc10 The key is still hanging on with a zip tie. I will be 3D printing a custom mount, but haven't gotten around to that yet. I do not have any aftermarket lighting on my bike.
@@ac38 Hi, I was wondering if you can clear something from the wiring diagram, there is a gray wire coming from the main relay to the ICM.... can you show me a picture of that wiring from your bike... because I'm able to see the gray wire from the main relay but there is no connector available..in my bike that wire is not connected and I'm worried I may damage the ICM. thanks.
Can you post a link for the key ignition switch that you used ?

can the bike still be kick started?
Yes the bike can still be kickstarted, but the key must be in the ON position. It will not kick start with the key OFF.
@@ac38does this also work on a 250r?
