Very Stupid Fire Emblem Challenge

- This idea was originally just going to be a Lub Lub quote, but I decided to make it a fully-fledged, one-off (Unless I can think of an even more ridiculous challenge) video.
If you're utterly bored out of your mind, and you're up for taking on something with incredibly low chances of success, then try my challenge idea for Fire Emblem 6. You've got more chance of finding eight shiny Pokemon in a row than completing this.
He leveled up Res more than he leveled Speed.
What a god.
He will take years to reach a point, but he will reach it without a scratch.
Celio Hogane unless he's fighting, uh... promoted and rng screwed serra
Celio Hogane without a scratch? LUUUUNAAAAAA!!!
Hi I subbed for the fact that I found Smash bros. XD
Also he got the same amount of Speed than resistance.
A knight vs knight battle
Knight 1:are you dead yet?
Knight 2:no,are you?

Wow, how are you so elusive?!
I can't move very far. In fact, you missed me entirely by yourself.
Knight 3: END THE FIGHT!
Knight 1: what's your resistance?
Knight 2: 25.
Knight 1: HOLY MOLY what's your speed
Knight 2: the max a knight can have

the goombas of FE best line ever
They only made dodging animations for Soldiers because they made a character that can actually miss a Soldier.
Funny Addition to this video that makes it even better:
Dataminers recently found that, due to a quirk of the way growths are decided on during a level up, every Growth Rate in the game is exactly 1% less than its supposed to be.
Which means... Barth actually has a 1% chance to increase Resistance when he levels up.
... A growth that you procced multiple times. Wow.
@Genuine Angus Beef but wait wouldn't that mean that he'd also have a 99% HP growth? Meaning that he can technically not level up hp ?
@@derdeutschemitdempinguin4891 oh my god
@@derdeutschemitdempinguin4891 Late to the party, but yes, Barth doesn't have a true 100% HP growth. I have videos of this happening on my channel. Not sure if it's for the reasons mentioned by the OP though
Here's the best part: Despite having a 100% HP growth, he still didn't max health. XD

That is an insane challenge. I may have only had experience with the easiest Fire Emblem games, but even somebody who has barely touched the franchise can tell that Barth is pretty much crap and should be ignored entirely. Though speaking of knights that are ignored, there was a knight that I found to be really useful in Awakening... but for the life of me I can't remember his name.
What knight? there was a knight in awakening!? Hold on, I've just gotta replay awakening to make sure i haven't missed anything...

+whoisthisgit To "force" the resistance gain you coulda save right before level ups, passed the turn to advance the RGN, and then enter the arena, not that I'm speaking from experience or anything '_>'
+DeeVeeTee583 Is RNG determined on a per-turn basis? I thought it was determined once you started the level, but I'm hardly an expert xD
Alexander Cobra I've only done sacred stones but it seems you have sort of an RNG "deck".
It seem to checks the next "card" every time you have to roll an attack and then when you subsequently level.
It also seems to discard the top "card" every turn while there are enemies on the field (don't ask).
I'm suggesting he passed the turn until the stars align and Barth gets perfect res.
A harder version of this challenge is doing it with FE Shadow Dragons Marth. He also has 2% Res growth but it's harder because he gets only 29 levels (1-30) and no promotion/promotion gains.

The same happens to bishops because enemies will use strong magic, unless they use physical weapons.

Yes, but I don't usually like using them still.
for me Only Oswin and FE14 knights are the ones I like. FE13 knights are okay, FE knights are meh, And FE11 knights are beyond terrible. Oh and radiant dawn: Meg.
Tdawg7 idk man Gatrie was pretty damn good when I played POR
"A lot of people hate armoured knights on Fire Emblem, and it's not difficult to see why"
Oswin has a few words with you, sir.
Oswin is probably the reason why most other knights don't seem that good to me, since FE7 was my first FE game. Gatrie and Brom from FE9/10 were pretty good as well, but given the choice between a strong General or a Paladin, I'd pick the Paladin every time.
whoisthisgit general all the way... except vs a heavy magic user army, the general almost always wins against all other classes (taking special weapons out of consideration)
movement won't save you from getting outdamaged by the general. Again, only mage users have a natural advantage over Generals. A paladin is just too wimpy to compare, combatwise, against a General. Paladins have only two real tactical uses: rescuing and taking out sniping/soft units, like mages and archers.
***** I can't consider speedruns = hardcore, sorry.
Just considering stat growth potential/ base stats and weapon diversity General kicks ass. Paladin is arguably, in almost all hard runs, (without any RNG control, just normal playing) inferior to a General, in those departments, and yes, though the paladin is superior in skill, speed and resistance to a General, it is inferior in anything else. Yes, the paladin has more movibility, but in a tbs it has little effect to move more, you will actually get surrounded in the next turn and get owned (if not playing an easy/normal run, of course).
On your RGN (sain and kent being badass): I congratulate you, in my runs both paladins and generals are quite good, but Oswin never gets a scratch in his armor and Kent and Sain have got to be careful to not get surrounded and die.
Also, I'm no casual, don't use that condescending tone... it's not necessary
11:04 the fact that the enemy loses is just laughable, his stats are way better than Barth and still...
Legend has it that Barth was tired of everyone making fun of his low res growth, so he became a pirate, went to a land where everyone has low res growths (Valentia), and killed a general so he could forget about his past.
that 2% growth actually indicates that he would get a res point in 50 levels in average, and the max number of times he can lvl up is only 30
"He is the knightest knight that ever knighted"

That is true, i hate how the RNG-Goddess is on the side of the enemies....and in FF Tactics Advance, i got the "luck" that i only get critical attacks in a very speacial kind of zone....the Death zone where all dead characters stay dead .___.
I miss my beautiful Bangaa Dragoon
+Yuubi Timberwolf and also 6% hit rate= 94% hit rate...
Recently when playing Fates, there is one enemy with that damn 6% hit rate, and i need my character to miss that hit to survive... and then it hits, and that unit died. dammit.

I have another stupid challenge in Awakening. Only bow man as soon as possible
+SomeCallMeAlex EXCEPT Ricken, who is a Sniper :P
+SomeCallMeAlex what. only bow man?
TheHDEpics really? Archers dude
You would need at least two of them, and they would need to be next to each other all the time, otherwise one will be surrounded and won't be able to move or attack. Using Virion upon recruitment will be abysmal, and you will probably need to complete chapter 3 for access to reeking boxes in order to give your lone units the Defence, Resistance, and Avoid to survive.
I love how Barth is pretty much the best armour knight in FE6
although when one of the other two choices is Gwendolyn that's not saying much
Idk about that, the one time I used Bors he ended up okay by the end, and could even double things sometimes, when I used Barth I couldn't find any use out of him outside of just choking some points because his combat isnt even that good, he's literally just a wall cause he can take so much damage, physical damage anyway.
7:58 Yeah me do better. Ha that won't ever happen.
And I thought Gunter from FE Fates was bad...
+TomboyGamerGal well at least he has growths!
RPG nerd He has growths that are crappy like Reina's, the Hoshidan counterpart. Tbh most of the promoted characters like him was only meant to be used early in the game to help the player out since most of the units are so weak.
TomboyGamerGal
Reina's growths except for defense and resistance are actually pretty decent, but she'll fall off a bit during the end.
60% chance of gaining one resistance point.
30% chance of gaining two.
0.00000000357627869% chance of completing challenge.

Is it seriously that low?
Yah Oswin is the only exception to the rule. He's a beast when you get him and a beast when you promote him

FE7: Oswin
FE8: Gilliam

Amelia doesn't count since she is better as a cavaliers
Raleigh Allen She can still be a knight.
+Raleigh Allen only for rushing through the story. A fast general will always top a Paladin or Great Knight
+Len1million Valbar's pretty decent. Unfortunately, in a game where only 1 speed difference is necessary to double, he gets doubled by just about anything, so he's not as good as he could be.

I'd just like to point out that with a 2% growth Barth has about a 60% chance of getting a single point of Res after training him fully.
Amazing.
What I'm trying to say here is that your Barth got seriously blessed with Res.
Hah! And people complains about Gonzalez's resistance...

Randomly stumbled upon your channel. I love your fire emblem content. Definitely subscribing.
Wow, this was the first video I ever watched from you and it still doesn't dissapoint. I never really played fire emblem myself so you got me into it. Thanks man :)
Game: Fire Emblem Awakening - 2012 (Thanks youtube -_-)
But anyway, yes the FE6 knights are all bad but FE7 and FE8 knights are awesome! Gilliam especially!
That Silver Sword Swordmaster had a higher chance of critting Barth than Barth had of even HITTING him.
(WITH Barth having a Weapon Triangle advantage, mind you!)
I want someone to manipulate the RNG to give Barth max resistance.
11:00 Another example of a reverse David vs Goliath would be Jaws vs Oddjob in Goldeneye 007. Jaws' taller height makes him an easier target, whereas the reverse is true for Oddjob, his smaller height makes him dreadfully hard to hit.
Can you say me on what basis double attacks are made?
I love knights but god FE6's knights are just... underwhelming to me. Maybe it's because Daddy Oswin carried me through my first fire emblem game and he's the best knight of all time, but I've played the most of other fire emblem games since then and man... FE6's knights just feel terrible.
Player: i wonder if my barth can gain resistance
RNG: well yes, but actually no
0:48
Sacred Stones. Amelia. Trust me, it works (Anyways Cavalier is far better)
The funniest part is that the crit at the end had the same chance as Barth actually getting a res point. Overall, Generals have been among my favorite units to use, but maybe I'm just weird. Of course I also may have been spoiled by the likes of Amelia... the General who dodges like a swordmaster...
Barth is so bad that he doesn't even get a weakest characters in gaming episode.
That bishop fight was so epic
10:25 When Barth really wants his resistance point
Honestly, I wish there was a game like Fire Emblem, but in addition to promotions doing what they do, they affect stat growths and let you decide how you want it to affect them:
Wanna double down on what a unit is already great at? Go the specialist route and further push those high growth rates.
Wanna work on mitigating their weaknesses? Take the alternative, the primary growth rates remain the same, but the lower secondary ones start growing as reliably as the primaries.
So you could have a Mega Knight, like Barth here, taking little to no physical damage at the cost of still hitting like a wet noodle. Or you could get a Bruiser Knight, who can dish out what he takes and even double some classes beyond the fodder and other knights.
Suscribed cause you made me laugh while I can't sleep xD.
legit thought barth was good at first because i contrasted him with wendy lmao
ah knights.... almost indestructible but also almost unable to attack someome....
you will get there.....eventualy....as long there aren't any magic users
Really only used Barth for the triangle attacks with the other knights. Yes, I've trained up the knights and my god the rng god blessed me with surprisingly fast knights.
Due to your profound interest in Fire Emblem, I've actually started to play FE8 in my own time. And, to be completely honest, Gilliam seems to land double attacks on many enemies I've encountered. Only problem is, though he's excellent at being a meat shield, he's also kinda hogging all the experience..
***** A lot of the enemies in FE8 are very slow, even knights don't have much trouble doubling them.
That'd explain it.
Also, props on the four-minute response.
whoisthisgit i have to say that is an ungodly resistance (says the guy that used Ewan in sacred stones)
Here's something to go even further beyond.
Get Skill, Speed, Luck, and Res all capped on Barth with the same limitatons.
Sneaking of Donnel... He seems perfect for the "Most powerful" series.
"Sneaking of Donnel" ??
Anyways Donnel is not the most powerful character in Fe13
It's Morgan
Stat caps > Growth rates
I think Robin is the most powerful. He/she has it all: full availability, very high power, can be turned into almost any class and get nearly every skill, supports every character. I'd argue that he/she is actually too strong.
Jojjeno Donnel may have one of the best abilities in the game, but he is by no means a good unit overall.
Precision if you start leveling up him up he becomes a monster
billy schmied I heard there was this thing called Morgan, it's pretty cool.
Just in case you didnt know, Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light is only on the e-shop until March 31st, so I'd act quick. Its five bucks
FE6's knights are so awful it makes me sad. The only one I've ever had any luck with is Wendy and she's comparable to Sophia in that you have to babysit her and feed her kills. The only armor in a GBA game I've ever had major luck with is Oswin.
I've had luck with Oswin and Amelia.
I like his blue armor, though.
Six points of resistance? Goodness!
