My all time favorite r/c airplane to fly. I still have my blueprints from Clancy aviation. I had the floats and used them on snow. If I ever get back into the hobby it will be my first build
Just finished building my own Mini Lazy Bee using your suggested plan. I had to recalculate the measurements from imperial to metric. Other than that I was using Depron instead of Foamboard. 6mm for top of Fuselage and spars. The rest is made of 3mm Depron. Depron is basically a type of foamboard without paper layers. Data: Weight ready to fly approx 100 grams. Motor 1811 -2000 10 grams, Lipo 2S 350 mAh, 25 grams. 2 Servos 3.6 grams each. Maiden flight planned for next Sunday Indoors. Tim, you have ignited the idea building my own Mini Lazy Bee, 😀Thank you for that.😀
I am absolutely going to build this one. I like the tiny tiny park flyers they're super fun. Thank you for sharing I love the bronco that's my favorite plain of yours that I've built
This plane is so cute! Also, this video is really gonna help me building my own rc plane. I already started the schematics thanks to you! As soon I finished your practical aerodynamics video, I instantly knew that your videos were interesting and fun to watch! new sub.
For the foamboard general glueing . . . I use a hot glue gun ($10 from Amazon, they work great). For plywood firewalls, stronger joints, etc. I use 5 minute epoxy.
Congratulations on a great build and successful maiden! I wonder what would happen if you reduced the prop size a bit so that it would be possible to ROG? Love the family pics and videos you included in this segment!
Ed: Thanks for tuning in, and glad we had a chance to head to the RC field with the Kids! You can certainly try a smaller prop, as well as much larger, lightweight wheels. I kinda found out about the prop arc after everything was together. Tim
Very nice build , What is the wing span and chord so to make sure the scaling comes out when i make one ? I had at one time a foam Cox Gooney bird that was a Lazy bee Never understood why they could not call it a Lazy bee lol any way it flew like it was on rails One of the best foamies i ever had i did convert it to brushless instead of the old 049.
Where do i add the cut on the wing for the airfoil (from leading edge to trailing edge) and how tall or thick is the foil? Im sorry it's my first time building one.
Lee: I used some poster board acrylic paint that was in my shop. Paint was quite thick and I did not dilute with water. Paint dried quickly, did not seem to affect the paper on the foam. Tim
Should I make a small hole on the side of the fuselage and put the servo through that instead of making a hole for the pushrod I think it's easier but I would like your opinion.
For a straight wing like this, CG is 25% of the chord, measured back from the leading edge. Just put your fingers at this point, see that the model balances. Close enough for these sport fliers.
New sub. Really like your videos and presentation.
PP: Very good and thanks so much for checking in! Tim
Thank you for answering all my questions! But i got more
Thanks so much! Tim

👍🏻😊 Tim
Who knew the full size lazy bee would be so fun. 3 channel but still so agile.
@@tpaul802 Key is to keep it light, model with its big wing flies well. Tim

I've always loved this plane. Thanks Tim for sharing. 😉 great video. 👍
Thanks for watching! Tim
Thanks! Buy some UNC gear with this tip!
👍🏻😃✈️ Dad
Well done, more like an Easy Bee.
👍🏻😊 Tim
Very impressive, a lot going on with this channel. Really enjoyable 👍
Harold: Thanks! Tim
New sub! New to the hobby.
Welcome aboard! Tim
Nice build Tim!
👍🏻 Tim
Another great job Tim! One of these days I’m going to get to try my hand at building some of your models especially the Bronco
Danny: Sounds good! Tim
Thankyou for sharing your knowledge., Just wanted to know what glue you are using.
For the foamboard general glueing . . . I use a hot glue gun ($10 from Amazon, they work great). For plywood firewalls, stronger joints, etc. I use 5 minute epoxy.
Nice! Cheers Tim!
John: No worries, look forward to working on the helicopter later this week. 😁 Tim

Awesome as always, Tim. I'll be building this as my next project. Thank you for the great videos! 👍

Larz: Just download the plans from the description, I wrote all of the full Mini Bee measurements on the plan. Wingspan is 18”, chord is 6”. Tim
I want a really slow flying model . I think a bigger version might be slower?
David: Try my larger Lazy Bee . . . flies nice and slow. 😁 Tim ruclips.net/video/TGF05dIDhco/видео.html

I make the "airfoil" cut around 25% back from the wing leading edge. Just bend it a bit, nothing scientific. Tim
Hi Tim, what paint do you use for your foam baord? I tried water based paint, and it loosened the paper from the foam. Thanks. Lee
Lee: I used some poster board acrylic paint that was in my shop. Paint was quite thick and I did not dilute with water. Paint dried quickly, did not seem to affect the paper on the foam. Tim

OK to make a small hole, put servo thru. Tim
Where do I put my fingers to test cg because it a ridged wing and what's the formula??
For a straight wing like this, CG is 25% of the chord, measured back from the leading edge. Just put your fingers at this point, see that the model balances. Close enough for these sport fliers.
Have you ever thought about making a stencil like plan how FLITE TEST does it cuz it’s pretty hard for me as I’m not that experienced.
Let me add to my list! Tim
Thanks man looking forward to it
Wont the battery slide and come out?
Glue on velcro to the battery and the fuselage, to keep battery in place. Tim
flys pretty good a bit squirrley tho cuzz of its size............
Roger that! Tim
Is the motor 2212??
GN: Yup, the 2212 should work just fine in the Lazy Bee. Tim
@@TimMcKay56isn’t 2212 too big??
