Hey guy thank you so much for your time and effort on these videos. As an amateur who found his passion a little later than others(22) I haven’t let down my hands in the past 4 months. Thank you for your service these definitely make me feel like I have a teacher!
Thank you for this instructional video!! It isn't just demo. I got this piece as homework. Mahn, I've been trying to figure out how to play the arpeggios, as in what's the rhythm, for two weeks now haha.
I'll be danged, I never noticed and neither did my teacher about lines 2, 3 and also 5 & 6 not showing the rests for the two following measures where the rest was shown before. Guess whoever wrote this piece assumed that one would know to rest. In either case, I love this "The Fairies' Harp". Been playing it for over a year and it's one of my favorite pieces. Almost can play it by heart.
Just happened to think about this rest thing. I went to play it and then it came to me that maybe there is no rest sign for the Left Hand in the Bass Clef because really the left hand is not resting, it's crossed over to Treble playing the G & B notes. You think???
The lessons for this book were done years ago andit is one of 17 books that I have marked to be redone with longer, more in-depth lessons when I get the time. I will include the dynamics in the new video if I ever get to it.
I love this video and instructor. I laugh when he roasts the writers of the book, but for real that honesty is why I trust what he's saying.

Good for you on playing this piece by memory. Missing symbols is actually quite common in beginner books until the symbols have been introduced.

Exactly. That's why I said that (sort of) in the video. However, the bottom staff should still have rests to account for the beats. :)

Oh and here’s the lyrics
A fairy harp hangs in the woods,
played by every breeze.
Vanished today are the fairy folk
who hung it high in the trees.
Just curious, any reason why you don't address the dynamics of this piece here?
