Can confirm. This grip break is extremely effective. It’s actually the only one I’ve found that works for me consistently.

Good to see you dropping vids again. Watched you nearly a decade ago, and the washing machine double under is my favorite playful move with newbies. Thank you for another great demo! Keep them coming please.

Learned this as a white belt. I thought it was a thing most white belts learned so I didn't think much of it. I was actually confused why I don't see more people doing it. In competition I don't think I've seen it done yet by someone I don't train with. Even on the highest levels I rarely see it, although I do remember when Ronda Rousey used it.
It actually makes me think sometimes that maybe there are armbar details that I'm missing and those people who don't use this grip break know something I don't but seeing this video now makes me consider that maybe a lot of schools actually don't teach this grip break at all.

Yeah, it’s kind of obscure I think because if you do it wrong it sets the other person up for the hitchhiker escape.
But, if done correctly the hitchhiker escape does not work.

Slick tip. My grappling dummy won't know what he's in for.
