one of our brown belts recently taught this (not identical setup but the finish)....can't tell you how many times it had failed on many of us but that last step of scooting out your hip to the trapped arm side is GOLD!!!

Awesome lesson!! I was missing the detail about shrimping the hips & re-locking the guard before going for the submission. I've been playing with this position called the "ratguard" I'm sure you guys have seen it or something similar, great for punch protection & fits right in with your lesson. Thanks so much!
