I was just listening to a program about Stradivari violins. I was inspired to give another fan note to my 5330 MR trumpet! I traded a big name high end big bore for it. Since then I’ve played two recitals and several band, jazz band and symphony (lower parts 😳) on it!!! I’m 69 and pretty sure this will be my main instrument for life. I am astonished by what a great fit it is for a very “experienced” player. It also gives me an individual sound when I’m not in the blending mode!!
I bout a YTR 232S my sophomore year in college. It played so well, none of the other trumpeters knew I was playing a student trumpet. I play a Zeno YTR 8335S and a YTR 9445 Chicago Artist model C trumpets now. I donated my older trumpet to a middle school music department devastated by a tornado. It looked and played brand new when I gave it away.
i smashed my kitchen up in a blind rage from trying to play trumpet....i smashed my cooker hob up with it and although the bell dented it did not crease...the third valve slide bent slightly but freed back up....I am totally amazed at the build quality of the yamaha intermediate horn....not sure the words "easy to play" can be applied to the trumpet....it is prudent to learn another type of instrument eg stringed or woodwind etc in tandem with trumpet as you may find, like i have, it is just too hard to play.
I current own a 2000 model and I am a recovering trumpet player(since high school) playing again after 20 years drought. Quite frankly, with my EMBOUCHURE not quite right, it's easier and more in tune for me to play a C scale on the Yamaha trumpet than some other student or generic brand. It just sounds better and more in tune. They are right on the money

The few notes played on the 5000 really sounded nice.

I'm sorry to hear that, Keep on trying with it, playing, not smashing it up!
If your learning to play go with a beginner, then later introduce an intermediate
I've been playing for about 6 months now, I practice all the time. I am now switching to a professional trumpet. Keep trying!
