Hello Madison Helms ! Nightwish fans here, your reaction just appeared on our radar.. Welcome to the world of symphonic metal! And thank you for checking this legendary band, performing here at Wacken Open Air festival 2013, together with Floor Jansen, the 3rd and present female singer of the band, in front of a 82k+ audience. Also a recent sad news - these days Marco Hietala, the bass player and male singer of the band, announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least - we'll see what the future brings to us. About the instrumental and vocal added parts - it's good to know they recorded their orchestral and vocal back tracks with prestigious institutions as London Philharmonic Orchestra. London's The Metro Voices choir group and London's Young Musicians Children's Choir as their regular partners. As I saw you enjoyed this powerful performance of the band, together with the stellar vocals and charisma of our Dutch metal queen, Floor Jansen. As a main rule about listening to Nightwish: expect the unexpected :) I hope you'll continue on this path. Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory): " Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. Marco Hietala is the Bassist and vocals .And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen . Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her. There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). I hope this helps. I want to welcome you to the Nightwish community. I hope you like them enough to continue the journey. Believe me Nightwish will surprise you with their songs. You will never know what to expect. They are unbelievable live. I want to warn you that Nightwish fans are hard core. So be prepared. lol " Hoping you'll continue this journey with us, I'll drop here a list of songs with the current lineup of the band you may like (please consider this list of links only as "a tip of the iceberg", an indication that they have a vast and very diverse repertoire, and not as something mandatory): "Romanticide" live at Wacken 2013 (metal) ruclips.net/video/zz_7OCCQlXs/видео.html "Storytime" live at Wacken 2013 (uplifting vocals) ruclips.net/video/pvkYwOJZONU/видео.html "Ever Dream" live at Wacken 2013 (uplifting vocals) ruclips.net/video/1Xi4n8dJcF8/видео.html "Song Of Myself" live at Wacken 2013 (dark/metal) ruclips.net/video/lQu5QjidHWg/видео.html "Dead Boy's Poem" - live Buenos Aires 2018 (soulful ballad) ruclips.net/video/S8E3L7ggLMM/видео.html "Ghost River" live at Wacken 2013 (metal) ruclips.net/video/05eitd-EA6I/видео.html "Dark Chest Of Wonders" live at Wacken 2013 (metal, the greatest show opener ever) ruclips.net/video/OvOD6xecph4/видео.html "My Walden" live at Wembley 2015 (celtic / folk) ruclips.net/video/knqeI807ZlY/видео.html "Sleeping Sun" live at Tampere 2015 (ballad) ruclips.net/video/rsotlzr9wNw/видео.html "The Islander" live at Tampere 2015 (Marco in charge..) ruclips.net/video/Zo8ncK_5kzc/видео.html "Stargazer" live at Tampere 2015 (operatic vocals / metal) ruclips.net/video/NhEuAPYm_Ug/видео.html "Sahara" live at Tampa 2016 (middle eastern vibe) ruclips.net/video/lTvYfLa4Wlk/видео.html "Slaying The Dreamer" live at Buenos Aires 2018 (metal) ruclips.net/video/wA44tjaP5n0/видео.html "I Want My Tears Back" live at Buenos Aires 2018 (celtic / folk vibe) ruclips.net/video/TBOdgxjb0kM/видео.html "Devil & The Deep Dark Ocean" live In Buenos Aires 2018 (metal) ruclips.net/video/t26r_vAYQ0Q/видео.html "Weak Fantasy" live at Tampere 2015 (dark metal) ruclips.net/video/AN239Pbqbjo/видео.html "7 Days To The Wolves" live at Wembley 2015 (dark metal) ruclips.net/video/XvsfwAPbWXc/видео.html And if you want to hear Floor growling :) then try "Yours Is An Empty Hope" live at Mexico City in 2015 ruclips.net/video/DuwY1d-KIss/видео.html Last but not the least - they just released their 9th studio album on April 10th 2020 named "Human :||: Nature" - just take a peek to their official playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLihZ3gi5Yvzc0pfH2cbNKUUX8o3pb8eVg (for example: "Shoemaker", the 3rd track from this album, tells the story of Eugene Shoemaker, one of the founders of planetary science, whose ash was sent on the Moon after his death, as a tribute from the scientific community ..) The links presented above are with the current singer of the band, Floor Jansen, since I'm a fan of the recent era of the band, with Floor as the singer. I have nothing against previous singers, but I do not consider myself the most suitable person to give specific recommendations from their repertoires. ** I think it's your place, fans of previous Nightwish eras, to present to the reactors the best recommendations with Tarja Turunen and Anette Olzon, because you know and appreciate them directly. I encourage you to add the best recommendations in the comments. ** That being said, I will add here the message left the other days by an old fan of the band, @Fabrizio Gorla: " To be fair to the old fanbase, you may want to include also some of these songs. Then 7 weeks ago she dropped the third cover, in Dutch: "Is Dit Nou Later" from Stef Bos - already 242K views. Just before Christmas she made a powerful cover of "Ave Maria" - already 236K views. Four weeks ago she added a remastered / remixed version of the first one, "Let It Go" - already 141k. @@rhmdutchman1550 When I have time, I search YT. But as a rule I rely on the "radar" of reactions from NightDreamers' Reacticide discord. For example, here the reaction was posted already for about 20 'when I got home from work. So I'm a little late.
You have just met Floor the greatest singer on the planet . Floorgasms . Her hubby is drummer of Sabaton . Your life has just change for the better . Queue Nightwish Army .Welcome
I never get tired of watching people's faces when Floor starts to sing, the confusion is priceless. They could make that a youtube channel; of its own and I would subscribe.
The rare thing, a genuine first reaction. Welcome to Nightwish. Gabriel Bardac will arrive soon with a whole list of suggestions, all of them good, provided there's "7 Days to the Wolves" (live at Wembley) among them. :) As someone else already mentioned, Floor (the singer) is married to the drummer of Sabaton, and they have a four-year old daughter. (This gig here was before she met him, though.) What else can I provide that others in the comments won't? A few more details about Floor maybe. She is Dutch, has been a professional metal singer all her adult life, starting in 1997 at age 16 with her first band After Forever, attending a newly founded "Rock Academy" in the Netherlands and a conservatory afterwards, where she studied musical theater and a year of opera. Her first band fell apart in 2009, she founded her own band ReVamp, which put out two albums, and had burnout syndrome in 2011/2012 because of overworking herself for her new band (songwriting, management, art direction, teaching singing lessons on the side etc.). She was at her sister's wedding when Nightwish called, who had parted ways with their second singer, Anette Olzon, and asked her if she could finish their world tour with them. She agreed and learned the setlist on her way to the US in less than 48 hours. (There is a documentary about this, "Please learn the setlist in 48 hours".) Together with a band member you haven't seen yet, Troy Donockley (UK; Irish bagpipes, whistles, guitar, bouzouki, singing), she was made a permanent member of Nightwish in 2013, a few weeks before this concert (although at that time, that was not yet public) and disbanded ReVamp in 2016 to focus on Nightwish. She lives on a farm in Sweden with husband, daughter, two horses and a few cats, has her own RUclips channel ruclips.net/channel/UCxy4Ijz2QKXXJaREs-isxwA and occupies herself with covers and singing lessons while we still have lockdown.
Welcome to Nightwish. Even though you don't say much, your open mouth says a lot😁 wait for Gabriel and fallow his list for more Nightwish. Stay safe 🤘😁🤘
You didn't use many words, but your face spoke volumes! Congratulations on your first Floorgasm! I strongly recommend you look for Gabriel Bardac's comment and pin it, as it contains jewels of great value in learning about the band and its history. This song is special. When Floor Jansen was contacted by Nightwish at her sister's wedding and asked to fly out to replace Anette, with (famously) just 48 hours to learn the setlist, this piece was not in it. It had been written for the first singer, Tarja, and was not in Anette's repertoire. But Floor had heard it when crossing paths with Nightwish on the European festival circuit while in her first band, After Forever, and liked it. She met up with Nightwish in Salt Lake City and continued learning the existing setlist, taking the stage with them for the first time on 1st Sept 2012 in Seattle. But she wanted this song and was disappointed it was not in the set. She dug out the backing tracks recorded for to Tuomas' score for Nightwish by the London Philharmonic Orchestra, London's Metro Voices choir and the London Young Musicians Children's Choir, and made an arrangement to suit her own voice, adding the phenomenal ending. In short order, Floor had an arrangement ready and persuaded the band to try it for the first time in 7 years on the 10th October in Austin, TX. By the end of the year, fans who had bought their tickets expecting to see and hear Anette, were chanting Floor's name not just after this song, but after the whole show. Tuomas' grin showed he already knew he had not just a stand-in, but a keeper! Of course, there were some contractual details to sort out, and it was not until after the tour, on 9th October 2013, that Foor Jansen was announced as a permanent replacement and member of Nightwish. By the time of this performance, their 39th of this song to her arrangement, about 10 months after she arrived with the band, they had polished it to perfection. It has never to my knowledge been out of the setlist since. The rest, as they say, is herstory!
Minor correction. Apparently, Anette did have a few goes at this song in its original version, in the latter stages of the Dark Passion Play tour in 2009 (the tour started in 2007, and I made the mistake of only looking at the original setlist, as used for most of the tour), so it was only 3 years since the rest of the band had played it.
Welcome to the wonderful world of symphonic metal and Nightwish. The singer is our Queen Floor Jansen, a Dutch singer/songwriter and vocal coach. She's married to Sabaton's drummer Hannes van Dahl and they have almost 4 years old daughter, Freja. Greetings from Finland! ⛄👍
Nightwish Army, UK division here. Welcome to the world of Nightwish Madison. I see Gabriel has made contact so you're in safe hands to guide you through the world of Nightwish. All you need to do is strap yourself in and enjoy the ride, which is, Nightwish.
For your info, the singer is Floor Jansen (Dutch) and her husband is Hannes van Dahl the drummer of Sabaton. Beautiful reaction love your facial expressions. Greetings from the Netherlands
Welcome to Nightwish, the expression on your face says more than words. Wait for Gabriel he can inform you and advise you about the list of fenomanal setlist of this concert. Have fun.
That must have been the most surprising face expression I have seen in a long time. Hahahaha. amazing. Welcome to the world of Nightwish. Guess your sub total will explode in numbers now. Hahahahaha
Hello lovely young lady! Most Americans see and hear a little bit of Amy Lee in Floor Jansen (Yahn-sen) when they first experience this song. Most Nightwish fans do not like the comparison. In Europe there are many Female vocalists in metal, but in the USA there are very few. Don't worry about it. You will understand how different Floor is once you hear more of what she is capable of doing vocally. Amy is wonderful at what she does, but Floor will leave you amazed after every performance you hear. How ironic that at the end you mentioned Sabaton. Another symphonic power metal band. It just so happens that Floor Jansen is married to Hannes van Dahl, the drummer for Sabaton. You should follow the suggestions from Gabriel Bardac below for additional videos to check out for further exploration of the amazing Floor Jansen and Nightwish. 😊😊😊🤘🤘🤘👍✌
I've seen tons of reaction videos, particularly Nightwish, and this is the first time I've seen a reactor not panic when hit with an annoying ad, and then have the good sense to back up to reestablish the flow. Bravo. Also, that feeling? Yeah, we've all had that with this one. Hope you do more NW; I see Gabe's been here so you've got the rundown. Be well.
Welcome, from the Nightwish Army. You really can't go wrong with any of their songs, especially live. But if you follow Gabriel's map, you'll have a great view of what the band has to offer. (Oh, and if no one's said it yet, we refer to the goosebumps caused by listening to our Valkyrie Queen Floor Jansen as a "Floorgasm" 😁) Great job! 🤘🤘
Floor Jansen is a vocal athlete with incredible range, agility, versatility, vocal stamina, and stage presence. She is a soprano with a range of more than three octaves (D3 to F6). It is apparent when listening to her sing that she has spent the better part of her life fine-tuning her instrument with help from several vocal coaches. Floor can sing in multiple languages and genres and is a vocal coach herself. It is incredible how she is able to take any song and make it her own. This woman is a true gift to her craft and an incredible addition to a band that has always been great until 2013 when they officially hired the undisputed Queen of Metal Floor Jansen, making Nightwish the greatest band on the planet.
Thank you so much Madi for reacting to this awesome song 👍🤟🌹❤️. The Nightwish Army is strong 💪. You have to react to the song....Song Of Myself from the same tour 2013 live in Waken. Infact all their songs from that concert is absolutely amazing 👌. You won't be disappointed 👍. Once again thank you so much for a wonderful react and take care of yourself and stay safe 🙏❤️🌹🤟🤟
Welcome to Nightwish ! You've just taken your first step into a fantastic new world. Nightwish is an incredibly deep and diverse rabbit-hole; joy awaits when you take a deep breath and jump right in. You've already seen the response from the Nightwish Army - no doubt it's quite a bit more than you would've imagined. We're an unusually passionate and dedicated bunch - because we know just how good they are. You've barely scratched the surface - do yourself the greatest favor and keep scratching; you won't believe what you'll find. You "weren't expecting this" - we Americans never are, because Nightwish is nearly unknown here in the States. I was turned on to Nightwish in 2008, by a singer I was dating. That relationship didn't last, but my NW relationship has. Seeing them live in 2016 cemented the relationship - I highly recommend the experience to anyone. They are in essence a live band - their albums are great, but onstage is where they really shine. Their relationship with their fans (as you saw in this video) is heartfelt and deep; the exchange of energy in a live performance is something you'll have to see to believe.. Now that you've heard your first Nightwish song, you may think you've got a pretty good idea what to expect. You'd be wrong. Their music is so wide-ranged, it's almost impossible to believe from song to song that this is the same band. Don't believe me? Check back after your next four NW videos - I guarantee delight. Again, welcome to Nightwish - your next favorite band. (MAKE AMERICA NIGHTWISH)
Nightwish Army reporting from the Netherlands. Welcome to the wonderful world of Nightwish. What you've heard here is just the tip of what this band can do. Nightwish really hits you in your hard. And that's what makes this band so unique. There were 82,000 people there. Her name is Floor Jansen and she is Dutch. Try Song of myself with Floor of course.
Welcome to the jolly group of Nightwish fans! We are many and you may see a spike in your subscribers if you choose to react more Nightwish. If I may recommend you something, your next target could be "Storytime" from the same Wacken 2013 show.
Maddie, Nice reaction, thank you. I have seen that look a thousand times, about five seconds after she starts to sing. The jaw drops and the eyes open wider. You have a thousand subscribers, congrats. I think the Nightwish Army may add a few more. LOL I am a early arrival, the masses will soon follow. Gabriel will fill you in on the history and the future of the band and a song list. Funny you mentioned Sabaton, the vocalist ( Floor Jansen ) is married to Hannes their drummer. A lot of reactors mention Amy Lee sort of sound. Yep sort of....with much more range and power. Welcome to the world of NW, and enjoy.
There is nothing (nothing!) in this world that is more beautiful than to literally watch somebody falling in love... believe me; everytime you hear this band, you will fall in love all over again, and again and again. For me a day without Nightwish (with Floor, sorry earlier Nightwish fans, but I discovered the band after 2013, and I went back to the earlier years with the 2 other lead vocalists, but it's really not the same...even the other bandmembers seem more vibrant, passionate an enthusiastic performing with Floor than even with Tarja...) is a wasted day. Have fun discovering this life-changing band!😊
Wonderful reaction from Maddy Metal! Love your Babymetal reactions and so pleased that you have found Nightwish! Judging by your face you totally get this. It was wonderful watching your jaw drop over and over again, keep up the fabulous reactions and stay safe!
"You say it best, when you say nothing at all." I'm terrible with remembering names but I think the quote is from a Ronan Keating song. This song, performance and Floor Jansen's vocals can leave you speachless. Greetings From Finland!
@@bobbyscott5162 Ronan have done it too. But originally it's Keith Whitley. The duet never happened in real life, it's a product of a sound engineer who combined Keiths recording with Allisons.
Glad you liked it. things are going to be lot more crazy for you, the army will be on there way soon if they are not already here. Next should be Romanticide from same concert
Welcome to the Nightwish Army. We are one and we fight together. Some of our best weapons are love, empathy and respect. Our powerful secret weapon is a flower. Naturally as a Dutchwoman she's called Floor. Floor is a Dutch variant of the Latin name Flora. Flora was the Roman goddess of flowers and spring. When you listen to her you also become one. You become an ever-opening flower and start to fully realize your potential. We are so glad you're here. With us you can feel at home.
🤘🇫🇮 Nightwish army Finland You need addblock for youtube or ublock to stop the commercials popping up ;D Mesmerized look in your eyes told much. You will probably continue your journey - Sray safe and take care... You will have a visit with long list of Nightwish compositions and songs, list is not mandatory just suggestions...
Hi Madison, great reaction. 😊👍 I just clicked on this after watching your "Storytime" reaction. Glad you decided to give this absolutely awesome band a listen. And don't worry about the Evanescence comparison, so many people have done it that I, personally, am used to it. One thing that sets Floor absolutely apart from every other singer on earth, is her versatility and her knowledge of the vocal mechanism and how to use it in soooooo many ways. Thank you for the video, reaction and comments. Stay safe and stay blessed. 😊❤🤘🤘
Nightwish army incoming UK legion reporting great honest reaction hope you enjoyed your first(of many) floorgasms floor Jansen is without a doubt the best female singer on the planet
The music is called symphonic metal and is very populair in Europe and South America. The band is from Finland and founded in 1996. So far the band has had 3 vocalists 1 Tarja Turunen (Finish) pure opera voice also very good live. (until 2005) 2 Anette Olzon (Schwedish) more pop style. fine in the studio but not good live. (until 2012) 3 Floor Jansen* (Dutch) (current). * She is the vocalist you saw in this clip. She has a classical vocal background education and can sing any style she likes from jazz to opera high to growling low. Believe me when i tell you you have not even scratched the surface yet of what she's capable of. Band members Tuomas Holopainen (The keyboard player and creative mind behind the band. He writes about 95% of the music and lyrics) Marco Hietela (the viking with the long beard (Bass and vocals) Jukka "Julius" Nevalainen Later (2015) replaced by Kai Hahto because of health issues (The drummer) Erno "Emppu" Vuorinen (the hobbit like guitar player) Troy Donockley ( a person who did not play on this song but is a multi instrumentalist from the UK) The clip was shot a few months after Floor jointed the band right in the middle of their US leg of the world tour. They asked her to join after tensions between the previous (Anette) vocalist and the rest of the band had rissen so high that they fired her. With close to a year still to go to complete the tour, and their next concert planned 2 day later they, needed a replacement fast. They called Floor because she had toured with them when she was part of the support bands"After Forever" and later "Revamp" on several occasions and they were quiet impressed by her vocals (who would not be?). She only had 2 days, including a flight from the Netherlands to the US, to learn the setlist and only had one rehearsal with the band a couple of hours before her first show and nailed it. Since they were making a documentary about the world-tour a lot of what happened was recorded. The documentary is called "Please learn the setlist in 48 hours" (ruclips.net/video/vhExkmWKMEU/видео.html ) As a next song to take a look at i would recommend their masterpiece "The poet and the pendulum" live at Wembley. Before you take a look at it i would recommend to take a look at the backstory of this song. This will make you appreciate it much more. here is the link ruclips.net/video/gbn9GczYBkw/видео.html BTW that last note she just sang? Nightwish fans created a whole new word for when she does something impressive like that. We call it a Floorgasm. Welcome to the club and boy are you going to receive a lot of traffic on your channel. ;-)
I would recommend strongly that considerably more familiarity with the band is needed before "The Poet And he Pendulum". A more gentle introduction would be to work through the Wacken 2013 setlist to become familiar with the band and have some time to learn their history.
I agree with everything you said, except that she should listen to The Poet and the Pendulum now. I think I can talk for the vast majority of the Nightwish Army when I say that she should experience more songs, to know more of the background and the struggles of Nightwish at the time to really appreciate the real deepness of this masterpiece (and yeah, I agree with you it's a masterpiece).
The new Gabriel? What's the use to overwhelm her with information about Nightwish, when Gabriel does his job? Please be careful with this. And to recommend The Poet and the Pendulum to listen next seems not to be a good idea.
@@artonx4719 I wouldn't be so harsh on him... Information is always good to share... I too think that Gabriel does an exceptionally good job in welcoming people into Nightwish, but to me it does not mean that other Nightwish fans can drop a little about their knowledge. But yes, TPATP is definitely *not* an early song to react. The experience with the knowledge of the band and the facts that brought Tuomas to produce this masterpiece is on a whole new level. Ad Astra!
@@als100 In my opinion it's not harsh. I think it's to much information and it doesn't show much respect at Gabriel. If we do all the same...what's next?
Welcome to NIGHTWISH...you've just started a journey that will blow your mind! The NIGHTWISH Army will show up soon and guide your next moves , you won't regret it! 👍
Welcome to the Nightwish Universe - the right place for lovers of the greatest music in the century. The melting of symphonic and metal creates a very unique vipe, which only the top musicians in the world masters - and only Nightwish does it to perfection. I think you felt the music, it gave you an experience - that's Symphonic Metal at its best = Nightwish. Just follow the setlist from Wacken 2013 - first one should be the opener Dark Chest of Wonders Wish I had an Angel and so on. And please always do the live versions, if possible. Nice reaction from you - Nightwish will touch you on your emotions down the journey - they are incredible.. Greetings from Nightwish Army Denmark 🇩🇰 👍 💪 🤘 🤘
Welcome to the world of Nightwish. Have lot's of fun listening to Nightwish and you also shoud listen to Storytime, Ever Dream and even better the whole Wacken concert. Greetings from the Netherlands
Nice reaction!!! 😂 great to see young people listing to nightwish and enjoying it like I do..... Oh yes we love this Band and ofcourse Floor our goddes.... So nightwish army give this young reactor some love and Support like you always do... This are the people that with their reaction spread the word on our beloved band... Stay real and healthy!!!
Your face said it all, that was me a year and a half ago,and I’ve been hooked ever since. I would definitely stick with this concert for now It is Epic . Enjoy The Ride
Originally Floor was sent by Allfather Odhinn to Midgard to gather the souls of fallen warriors to Valhalla, but she got distracted and joined a series of bands. However, Floor still gathers souls by her grace, beauty and the sheer power of her vocals. We give thanks for her at our Blots regularly and hope that Odhinn won't notice that she has never returned to Asgard. ALL HAIL THE VALKYRIE GODDESS!!!
watch out .nightwish army is gonna boost your subs. were here to help you if you want too, to go on in this awesome tour down the rabbitwhole.please react more and we will follow more.hahaha greets from the netherlands.
welcome to the best band & singer ! NW hasthe largest & most passionate fanbase on YT ,stay with live performances, the Wacken 2013 is a treasure chest of wonders :)
Loved the reaction. This is the song 13 of 15 at Wacken Metal Festival where Nightwished headline in 2013 in front of 82,000 people. Every song of this set is gold, my favourites are Romanticide and Song of Myself. You have started yourself on a journey and they have 100+ songs for you to have a go at not to mention their solo stuff. Floor Jansen was in a Dutch TV show called Beste Zangers, 7 singers of different genres,1 takes centre stage each week and the other sing songs that are by or important to the singer at centre stage. Only 1 singer knew of Floor and neither did the Netherlands outside the metal fans. Afterward she was the talk of the country. RUclipsr jenniezelf has all Floor's songs with English sub-titles of the chat before and after on her channel ruclips.net/user/jenniezelfvideos. Floor also has some covers of songs on her channel ruclips.net/user/FloorJansenOfficialvideos together with some vocal masterclasses, she was a vocal coach, and some videos around her home in Sweden. Enjoy the journey if you want to take it.
Great reaction! Please react to Nightwish's Storytime, Romanticide or Song of Myself from the same concert (Wacken 2013). And The Poet and The Pendulum from Wembley 2016. It's journey of emotions. Greetings from Chile
Congratulations on discovering one the the best, most versatile bands in the world....keep discovering and you will be amazed. Song of Myself or story time would be good places to go next.
I am jealous of your trip down the Nightwish/Floor Jansen rabbit hole; I know how much I loved mine and wish I could repeat it. Enjoy, it will be amazing. From her early days to her appearance on Beste Zangers 2019, to her recent covers during the lockdown, Floor has captured the hearts of many an unsuspecting listener. Try STORYTIME next.
loved your reaction. It is so fun to watch someone's first time hearing this band. Stay true to what you like. And her husband is the drummer for Sabaton so...Be safe and looking forward to more.
Hello Madison, thank for a very cute genuine reaction. Love how your facial expressions changed *for the good* the deeper the song got. I think you really like a lot of their songs. Thank you for sharing this with us. Cheers!

Instant like is instant 👀🎶👍 Watching your reaction was so precious 🐱👤Welcome to a new chapter in your life 🎁✨🌹 Hannes van Dhal says he is married to an Opera singer 🤣😜😁
This was the most honest reaction i've seen in a long time... Thank you... because of that i subscribed. btw... Keep the blue beanie, it suits you and is a nice recognizable mark.
It's funny you mention Sabaton. The singer, Floor Jansen, married to the drummer from Sabaton, Hannes Van Dahl. Time for your Nightwish journey into Symphonic Metal as the NW army arrives! Keep on the lookout for Gabriel, he'll help guide you on your journey! Great Reaction!
welcome to the fantastic musical universe of Nightwish and Floor Jansen, queen of the stage and goddess of music. from the same concert (wacken 2013) I suggest you to react to: "song of myself", "storytime" and "ever dream"
great reaction. best in a long time. no analyzing just profound joy. good luck with channel. by the way best band in 40 years FYi. and I was born in 52 so I`ve heard them all
We're glad you enjoyed this. If you would like more Nightwish, please consider any other songs from this same concert (Wacken 2013) and when you feel ready (as they are intense songs) "The Poet And The Pendulum", which is about Tuomas (the keyboardist/composer) and his internal struggles considering suicide - though if you read up on it you'll learn more about why - and then "The Greatest Show On Earth" which is a piece relating to the living timeline of the universe and our place in it as humans on Earth. Welcome to the amazing world of symphonic metal.
I'm not even a part of the night wish army, I knew of them heard some of the music and this was yeaaaars ago. Thank you my olds parts guy johnny parts for letting me know of them pre you tube interwebs. Thank you interwebs for letting me view them!
Hello Little one. Loved your reaction. Same as I had. Stunned and in awe... What impressed me was you sat through the whole song without pausing it... My suggestion is try 80's metal (Judas Priest, Dio, Iron Maiden etc). You won't be disappointed. Hope to see them soon😁...
This song was 90 minutes into the set, third from the last of the night, and her voice was still in top form Reaction suggestion for next song.. Song of Myself, from this same show
Hello Madison Helms !
Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory):
" Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer.
So be prepared. lol "
Hoping you'll continue this journey with us, I'll drop here a list of songs with the current lineup of the band you may like (please consider this list of links only as "a tip of the iceberg", an indication that they have a vast and very diverse repertoire, and not as something mandatory):

Last but not the least - they just released their 9th studio album on April 10th 2020 named "Human :||: Nature" - just take a peek to their official playlist: ruclips.net/p/PLihZ3gi5Yvzc0pfH2cbNKUUX8o3pb8eVg (for example: "Shoemaker", the 3rd track from this album, tells the story of Eugene Shoemaker, one of the founders of planetary science, whose ash was sent on the Moon after his death, as a tribute from the scientific community ..)
The links presented above are with the current singer of the band, Floor Jansen, since I'm a fan of the recent era of the band, with Floor as the singer.
That being said, I will add here the message left the other days by an old fan of the band, @Fabrizio Gorla: " To be fair to the old fanbase, you may want to include also some of these songs. Just be fair and don’t make a comparison if you don’t want an open war in your comment section.

You can also react to Floor Jansen "tapping" other musical genres in Beste Zangers 2019 (TV show from Netherlands) here is a playlist made by Floor herself (start listen it in reverse order..): ruclips.net/p/PL8iSYWeQhlimgUnWw1FDdiJN0msPzqpLo
To understand better the context of this show you should visit also Jenniezelf's YT channel (En subtitled materials): ruclips.net/user/jenniezelf
For entire episodes of the show with En translation, you should check Denise Hofs's DM channel: www.dailymotion.com/xpinkeu/videos
In these pandemic times, Floor Jansen has decided to make covers for us, which you can find on her YT channel ruclips.net/channel/UCxy4Ijz2QKXXJaREs-isxwA - there are already 5 covers there, the first is "Let It Go" from "Frozen" (11 weeks ago, already over 2.067M views), the second - "Alone" from "Heart" (released 9 weeks ago) - 901K and counting. Then three weeks ago she added to the list a powerful cover of "Adagio" by Lara Fabian (!!!) - 277K views now..
Thank you! Waiting for more Nightwish reactions. All the best from RO. Stay safe.
Thanks Gabriel, you help new Reactors so much🤗👍

Shoot !!!
Few things say Nightwish better than a stunned expression:). Welcome!
(This gig here was before she met him, though.)
What else can I provide that others in the comments won't? She lives on a farm in Sweden with husband, daughter, two horses and a few cats, has her own RUclips channel ruclips.net/channel/UCxy4Ijz2QKXXJaREs-isxwA and occupies herself with covers and singing lessons while we still have lockdown.
agreed, a definite first time reaction. very much like mine. who are this band? why haven't i heard of them? wtf? etc ... etc :)
I'm impaitently waiting for your next Nightwish reaction!
BEST non-verbal reaction I have seen during a performance. We love first time reactions. Welcome to the Nightwish Army. Buckle up. It's a fun ride!!
I will☺️ and ya that's crazy that I mentioned sabaton without knowing that
@@madireacts See again soon I hope? 😊
Yeah. NOT! There is absolutely no Amy Lee in Floor's voice!
@@stillracer2514 I meant like the opera type voice and rock music in the back ground.
Good stuff Thorgrim but Sabaton is in no way a symphonic power metal band.
Your facial expression says it all
😊😊 WELCOME to Nightwish! 😊😊
NW Army is here 🤘🤘🔥🔥
Dutch detachement grenadeers has arrived, sir!

Nice reaction. Welcome to the Nightwish army. Enjoy all of their songs. We all have💪💪💪💪
Floor Jansen is a true gift to this world, as is Nightwish.
Hope to see you do alot more reactions from this once in a lifetime band! 🤘🤘❤
Welcome to Nightwish World. One of the most genuine reactions I've seen for a while. The Nightwish Army will come calling now. 😉😁
Good job young lady, your mesmerized expression speaks volumes. Nightwish will do that to us all!
So welcome to Nightwish family.
Oh gosh!! Definetely react to “stortytime” “ever dream” “yours is an empty hope” and “elan” live by nightwish
I can never get enough of watching the stunned expressions when Floor hits those high notes at the end of this song 🤣
Keith Whitley/Alison Kraus. Lol.

Hi Madison, great reaction. 😊👍
I just clicked on this after watching your "Storytime" reaction.
So far the band has had 3 vocalists
1 Tarja Turunen (Finish) pure opera voice also very good live. (until 2005)
2 Anette Olzon (Schwedish) more pop style. fine in the studio but not good live. (until 2012)
3 Floor Jansen* (Dutch) (current). * She is the vocalist you saw in this clip. She has a classical vocal background education and can sing any style she likes from jazz to opera high to growling low. Believe me when i tell you you have not even scratched the surface yet of what she's capable of.

Tuomas Holopainen (The keyboard player and creative mind behind the band. He writes about 95% of the music and lyrics)
Marco Hietela (the viking with the long beard (Bass and vocals)
Jukka "Julius" Nevalainen Later (2015) replaced by Kai Hahto because of health issues (The drummer)
Erno "Emppu" Vuorinen (the hobbit like guitar player)
Troy Donockley ( a person who did not play on this song but is a multi instrumentalist from the UK)
The clip was shot a few months after Floor jointed the band right in the middle of their US leg of the world tour. The documentary is called "Please learn the setlist in 48 hours" (ruclips.net/video/vhExkmWKMEU/видео.html )
As a next song to take a look at i would recommend their masterpiece "The poet and the pendulum" live at Wembley. Before you take a look at it i would recommend to take a look at the backstory of this song. This will make you appreciate it much more. here is the link ruclips.net/video/gbn9GczYBkw/видео.html
BTW that last note she just sang?
Welcome to the magical world of Nightwish! Please continue your journey into this amazing band
Now have you been Floor'd! She is amazing! Keep up the good work! Love Morgan from Sweden 🇸🇪 💞
Just follow the setlist from Wacken 2013 - first one should be the opener
Dark Chest of Wonders
Wish I had an Angel
and so on.
And please always do the live versions, if possible.
Nice reaction from you - Nightwish will touch you on your emotions down the journey - they are incredible..
Greetings from Nightwish Army Denmark 🇩🇰 👍 💪 🤘 🤘

@@madireacts expressions are everything and priceless, but fyi NW & Floor are on a whole other level from Amy & Evanessence
Your face said it all, that was me a year and a half ago,and I’ve been hooked ever since. I would definitely stick with this concert for now It is Epic . Enjoy The Ride
The look on your face at 2:30 and onwards is beautiful and awesome :) Welcome to the Nightwish Army!
Now that you have found the greatest band on earth - enjoy the ride little sister. You will not be disappointed. Subscribed to follow your ride.
Originally Floor was sent by Allfather Odhinn to Midgard to gather the souls of fallen warriors to Valhalla, but she
got distracted and joined a series of bands. However, Floor still gathers souls by her grace, beauty and the sheer power
of her vocals.
We give thanks for her at our Blots regularly and hope that Odhinn won't notice that she has never returned to Asgard.
ALL HAIL THE VALKYRIE GODDESS!!!
I will never get tired of this. 10:18 was the "this isn't possible" moment and it just continued. Great job, awesome reaction, do Storytime next!!!
The look on your face when Floor starts singing is the same look we ALL had when we first experienced this song with her.....
watch out .nightwish army is gonna boost your subs. were here to help you if you want too, to go on in this awesome tour down the rabbitwhole.please react more and we will follow more.hahaha greets from the netherlands.
welcome to the best band & singer !
THE LOOK ON YOUR FACE WHEN FLOOR HIT THE HIGH NOTE MADE MY DAY ?YOU HAVE MANY SURPRISES TO COME FROM NIGHTWISH ENJOY
Now do Storytime also from Wacken
Hi Madison.....welcome to the Glory that is Nightwish with an Army of Millions.....you won't be disappointed.
Great reaction! Please react to Nightwish's Storytime, Romanticide or Song of Myself from the same concert (Wacken 2013). And The Poet and The Pendulum from Wembley 2016. It's journey of emotions. Greetings from Chile
I love watching a new reaction to floors beautiful voice... makes me smile to see you enjoyed this one.
Congratulations on discovering one the the best, most versatile bands in the world....keep discovering and you will be amazed. Song of Myself or story time would be good places to go next.
welcome to the Nightwish army, young one. Your stunned expression right off the bat got another sub.
Cheers!

very cool reaction Madison,
greetings from the Nightwish Army from Germany :-)
Welcome to the Nightwish Army Madison! Listen to our pied Piper Gabriel and you won’t go wrong!
Welcome to the nightwish army, wee lass!
I recommend their song "the greatest show on earth" live at wembley 2015
Well come to the Nightwish world! There are lots of good songs
or masterpieces, but any of these from Wacken 2013 is super.
welcome to the fantastic musical universe of Nightwish and Floor Jansen, queen of the stage and goddess of music.
from the same concert (wacken 2013) I suggest you to react to: "song of myself", "storytime" and "ever dream"
great reaction. best in a long time. no analyzing just profound joy. good luck with channel. by the way best band in 40 years FYi. and I was born in 52 so I`ve heard them all
We're glad you enjoyed this.
Great reaction great facial expressions welcome to the family your in for a long ride enjoy
Just subscribed! Welcome to the NW Army and enjoy the ride into NW like I am currently doing! Top 5 bands of all time for me now! We Were here!
Nightwish & Floor Frikkin Jansen, kickin a** & takin names! Great stuff Madison, keep em coming:)
Hey Madison, greetings from Germany and welcome to the tonal treasure trove that is Nightwish!
This song was 90 minutes into the set, third from the last of the night, and her voice was still in top form
Reaction suggestion for next song.. Song of Myself, from this same show
Great reaction...subbed
The look on your face, priceless, jaw drop and everything XD
