Thanks for this video, it was very interesting :) Can other issues be mistaken for IBS? I've had gut pain for 2 years now, with nausea getting added to the mix in the last 6 months or so. I've tried many elimination diets to no effect. I've been tested and scanned up the wazoo, with no issues being found. I am having allergy tests done next week. Oddly enough, I feel my best after eating what would be considered really unhealthy meals (e.g., bacon and eggs, cheeseburgers, pizza). My doctors are perplexed.
I’m 44, and definitely have had symptoms of IBS for years, especially if I eat the “wrong” things, or get into a high anxiety state. I have a lot of anxiety. However, in the last five months, I had two, separate, more concerning instances, where I had a small amount of maroon/blood-tinged mucus on my “stool”, both after a weekend of heavy drinking and junk foods. This happened once in September, after Labor Day weekend, and once after New Years. I had drank more alcohol and ate more junk with the holidays, Thanksgiving through New Years. Each time, I have continued to check for any more blood/bloody mucus, and it never happened again after these two, separate situations. Both occurrences, it was neither bright red or dark/black/tarry. It was just a maroon strand of mucus each time. I have a referral to a gastroenterologist, and assume I’ll be getting a colonoscopy. It’s a little scary, since my father had colon cancer. Granted, he was 67 at the time of his diagnoses, (stage 4) and had a poor diet, overweight, and type 2 diabetes for many years. I am in otherwise good health, weight, and fitness. Another concerning factor, is that my father had multiple colonoscopies by the same doctor, starting in his fifties. Polyps were found, but nothing cancerous. Then, after retiring, and moving south, he became symptomatic and had another colonoscopy, by a different doctor, who then discovered his colon cancer where the small intestine joins the large intestine. It turns out the first doctor did not scope his colon all the way, resulting in a very needless consequence of cancer. It should have, and could have been prevented. Because of this, I am tempted to think the virtual colonoscopy may be a better option. Your thoughts, Doctor, if you’re able? Thank you.
I’ve had stomach issues my whole life and I was diagnosed with IBS when I was 17. I’ve spent my whole life just dealing with it, and this video was so informative. I feel like my doctors never believed me about painful it could be.
I don't have abdominal pain ,but have similar to IBS , loose stools , mucas in stools , sometimes alot of just mucas , etc, after few weeks in tried celery juice for 3 days and it caused my edema ,but after 2 weeks of diareah my digestive system works better ,no more GERD and acid reflux ,no more mucas in stools , Some way this is all cleared
Thank you for the information. I have gastritis and I have eliminated so much but I’m thinking I have IBS also. Gas after I eat depending on what I eat and blasting
Best explanation thanks alot my Allah reward you .plz help am in pain round my stomach and upper everyday and bloating like am 8 month pregnant. They said I have inflamation and ibs.but stress me alo I can't press my stomach so painful
I don't have the pain but my gastroenterologist suggested I have IBS because I appear to be wheat or gluten intolerant after I started having the big D when eating store bought bread
Idk what I am suffering from but this thing is the WORSE. Better to have cancer and die than getting ruined in this way. I had COVID this March, recovered properly and starting from June I started having Diarrhoea, Colonoscopy came normal, I have abdominal pain, bloated, growling stomach and the worst, dry and bitter taste in mouth just after bowel movements.... Weight loss, ridiculous weight loss!
Same here. When it first started about 5 months ago, I was having bowel movement anywhere from 3-5 times daily. Did you figure out anything that makes you feel better?
I'm sorry, but I really despise this sort of "informational" video filled with cartoons and wacky sound effects. IBS doesn't make a person stupid or infantile.
what questions do YOU have about IBS??
Can IBS be a permanent condition caused by Post Viral Gastroparesis?
Thanks for this video, it was very interesting :)

Glad it was helpful for you!
Same here! Some doctors shouldn’t have a job. A lot of doctors are condescending, cold, arrogant jerks!
You are an amazing human being and Doctor. Your explanation to things are so comforting. Alot of western medicine MDs are not thorough or kind🙏
Thank you, this video is very informative and helped me a lot.
Thank you for this excellent presentation. My GI doctor gave me zero explanation for my IBS-C. Really appreciate your information.
