Texas chainsaw massacre is one of the best films of all time, the grittiness and documentary style that turns more psychedelic towards the end in such a physical and intense way is incredible, nothing else like it
Feel honored to have contributed something to your channel! Glad you had fun with the bracket, dope video as always! That scene of them having dinner at the house at the of TCM always makes me feel like I need to take a shower after the movie over
Would love to hear your actual top list of horror movies on a video some day, or recommendations of lesser known horror movies that are worth checking out. Anyways it was a fun bracket🤙
The “is the Blair Witch Project real” phenomenon truly was a thing. I was only 4 when it came out but can vividly remember it still being debated when I was in middle school.
Wtf that first match up is so hard. The Exorcist and Rosemary's Baby would be on the top for me, sad to see one of them leave so early. Very cool video tho, thanks Myke
I kinda miss the "feel like complete dogshit after watching" horror movies of the 2000's. Remakes like "The Hills Have Eyes" and stuff like "Saw" and "Cloverfield". There was this very bizarre aesthetic across the entire genre for like 7 years that was basically a grimy disgusting feeling where anything you touched you could probably get some fucked up disease.
I didn't know you had another podcast. I'll have to check it out. Also, I didn't know you were into fragrances. I'm a fraghead so it would be cool to hear your favorite niche or designer fragrances.
"The one relieving thing about Texas Chainsaw is that there were no black people in it" Slight correction: that truck driver at the end was a black dude and not only did he attack leatherface, he managed to run away 🙌🏾
I love the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre as well and great to see your love for the original Wicker Man, another masterpiece! In my bracket Psycho would have beaten out The Thing, but your picks were super cool too (two Argento's against one another in the first round is just plain wrong, both of them are all-time greats). If I could add one more film it would be Witchfinder General with the great Vincent Price, that is one of the greatest and most disturbing films I have ever seen and very much like The Wicker Man not your standard blood and guts scary horror flick! Oh, and Evil Dead Trap from Japan, need to give some love to Asian horror too!!
Sad to see no Hellraiser in the bracket, even if it wouldn't have made it past some of the heavier hitters. Thanks for the video Myke, was a fun watch!
Candyman is definitely the deeper film but something about the bizarre style of the og nightmare film gets me everytime i watch it. its very rough around the edges, and its corny looking at it through a modern lens, but I've rewatched it soo many times, especially on halloween
Definitely loved this video! Did not expect the final 2 to be what they were but respect on the selections! Also, OG Candyman is a masterpiece that is criminally underrated!
Kill List (2011), Censor (2019) & A Dark Song (2016) are a few of my favourite British horror films that I think you would appreciate it. Apologies if you’ve seen them!
I Love the content but damn Bro😂 Suspiria 2018 is one of my Favorites of all time. It’s a completely different movie from the OG but I think he built upon it.
the soundtrack and visuals of the OG was what set it apart ngl I love the 2018 movie too (and Thom Yorke made a fantastic OST), but it doesnt hit the way the OG did
@@mykectown it’s one of the few modern horror remakes that actually Remakes the movie😂 instead of BSing an impression, it has its own style, I recommend rewatching not thinking of the OG because it got better for me every time
Some good picks here man. On the left you had me until The Exorcist, that's my number one! On the right, our only really polar opposites are Shining vs. Lambs and Thing vs. Alien. But awesome to see The Wicker Man progress so far!
I've only seen about 50% of these, have some stuff to see this Spooky Season! Most of the ones I've seen were on the right side. Have never actually seen The Exorcist, but am going to see it in the cinema on Saturday.... Hardest choice here was definitely Alien vs The Thing, would definitely have to be The Thing for me, scared the shit out of my when I had COVID haha Also The Shining vs Silence holy shit, how can you pick... wow you so easily picked that one damnnn, have you read the books? Great video man Love Blair Witch too Really need to watch Wickerman and Suspyria. Think The Thing is my fav on this list.
Great choice Myke! TCM is an incredible movie! They just dropped a video game on it a couple months back & it's based off the original one! Hope to see more of these, this was fun & mad entertaining‼‼✨✨
YOOO RESPECT FOR THE WICKER MAN! That fuckin ending scene is legit terrifying, in a way I haven’t seen replicated. Midsommar went for it a little, I got the impression that dude fucks with The Wicker Man
I enjoyed this! Of course I enjoy the topic. I just wanted to say I agree with your final choice.it’s probably my greatest horror film of all time as well. For the time that it was made, it’s so gritty and raw, yet very entertaining and watchable. Also cool to see you place Wicker Man as high as you did. Great video!
Definitely would like to see a 2nd edition of this bracket with some more foreign horror movies or some films that are lesser known/discussed like Carnival of Souls.
Scream is my all time favorite. Matthew Lillard, Neve Campbell, Skeet Ulrich performances in the last act of the movie is one of the most impactful performances in the horror genre of all time. Scream gave the genre a jolt that it desperately need in the mid 90’s as well. RIP Wes Craven
You should do more brackets man! Also love Texas Chainsaw but i probably would've gone with The Thing. Both are masterpiece and sit side by side in my eyes
Dawn of the Dead takes it for me, it's my favorite horror movie so it was pretty clear from the jump. Hardest match-up was The Shining vs The Thing, had to let out a "AAAH" and go with The Thing by a hair.
I love this myke me as die hard horror fan sooo dope Candyman 1992 my All time favorite horror film ever. I'm going to see saw x Friday and the new exorcist next Friday
I somehow just stumbled upon this. Was very fun. I think the bracket is really missing some things like French New Extremity, J-Horror, Classic Universal Monsters, Hammer Horror, Silent Horror, a true blue splatter film maybe... but you can't get everything the first time around. I would have so many different picks on the way there, but I also got to a Texas Chainsaw victory as I was watching. I actually
I would love to see what your own thoughts on each DEHH bracket are! I feel like your choices always get out-ruled and I’ve been trying to make sure your favs don’t get screwed on the new ones I send to y’all 😅
Read Quentins book a month or two ago and watched all the films he was mentioning that I hadn't seen. Texas Chainsaw Massacre blew me the fuck away. It really is a perfect movie, and I was ready to nitpick it as hard as I could and instead I came away loving every second of it
I have The Thing vs Exorcist in finals. With Exorcist winning by a slim margin. Only cause it’s the foundation of effed up Horror films. Dark psychological that set the bar so high.
Make c town, your energy is so cool!, watching your participation in dead end hip hop the past few years I come to that conclusion. I WISH IT WOULDA BEEN ANOTHAAAA!!.....lol....(how long will they mourn me(....
All your picks were same as mine. As an Indian🇮🇳 I would like to give you a recommendation: plz watch an Indian movie named "Aamis" (2019). It's right up your alley. You're gonna love it myke.
I'll give it a shot. IUt looks really cool. The fact that it takes after banned violent movies is a plus. Haha. I've only seen a few Indian horror movies. I really liked Bhoot. But Under The Shadow is incredible and I think it was very much underrated.
texas chainsaw massacre is great. the only horror movies i rank with it are night of the living dead (original), rosemary's baby, evil dead (original), freaks, persona, and lost highway. i adore wicker man as well, though consider deep red to be argento's best. i am not very into saw, but saw x felt was actually engaging and effective.
Yeah, nothing tops Texas Chainsaw. Wicker Man is tight. Agree with most of your picks. I too love Final Destination and don't love Saw. You should give Susperia remake another shot. I doesn't compare to the original, but is really cool. Did you like Bones and All?
I guess TCM would be the most dreadful choice out of all. You should do more of these maybe tier list for Carpenter movies or just rankings of popular director's films.
You should make more of these about whatever. It's fun
Texas chainsaw massacre is one of the best films of all time, the grittiness and documentary style that turns more psychedelic towards the end in such a physical and intense way is incredible, nothing else like it
True masterpiece

Suspiria would have definitely won on mine with Hereditary being the runner-up. The favorite of mine that is missing is Possession
Always good to see possession get a little attention
Agreed
The “is the Blair Witch Project real” phenomenon truly was a thing. I was only 4 when it came out but can vividly remember it still being debated when I was in middle school.

Would’ve loved to have seen The Descent vs The Hills Have Eyes. Caves vs hills!
The Descent gave me so much anxiety lol
Your whole bit with Britt Ekland banging on the door singing "Willow's Song" is hilarious.

Sad to see no Hellraiser in the bracket, even if it wouldn't have made it past some of the heavier hitters. Thanks for the video Myke, was a fun watch!
Had the same reaction seeing Texas Chainsaw saw it for the first time last year. Love all the messaging and themes in it just so much to take away.
Candyman is definitely the deeper film but something about the bizarre style of the og nightmare film gets me everytime i watch it. its very rough around the edges, and its corny looking at it through a modern lens, but I've rewatched it soo many times, especially on halloween

This was dope! Love everything you do my guy❤️
definitely would love to see this for every movie genre you like
This was a lot of fun! Definitely got me in the mood to watch a lot of these.
Awesome video and a fun watch
I love when you talk horror (Alaska, Kam & you make a great trio on Crate 808, too)...

this was tight. i would love a volume 2 with more horror movies!
Definitely would like to see a 2nd edition of this bracket with some more foreign horror movies or some films that are lesser known/discussed like Carnival of Souls.
No movie has affected me on as much of a personal level as Hereditary so for me that would have come out on top!
Surprised there was no Evil Dead on the bracket.
Damn dude didn't realise your taste in horror was so based. Checking out that podcast for sure.
Psycho would win for me but it would be close.
Fun bracket! The Thing won for me. I’m with you with The Wicker Man as well.
Do more brackets! Maybe a metal one
Fun bracket! Looking forward to more of these!
This was a lot of fun to watch. Would have loved to see Get Out, Barbarian, and Saint Maud thrown into the mix.
Didn’t expect a bracket but I love horror movies so this is dope! Gonna have to fill it out myself
I've been subscribed for years and never knew you had a movie podcast!
Also the wicker man rules
Would Love to see a tier list version of horror movies to see where they rank
Good list. Glad to see 'Candyman' get some love. 'His House' (2020) is a good recent horror film, too.
I wouldnt be surprised if you and Sadistik have talked about this. But what I'd give for a weekly pod or so with yall talking movies.
Ayyy got so excited when i saw tou upload this.
Have you ever listened to defeated sanity, myke? Just thought it might be something up your alley. ✌️
THE THING BEATS SHINING ??? OH HELL NOOO !
You should do more brackets man! Also love Texas Chainsaw but i probably would've gone with The Thing. Both are masterpiece and sit side by side in my eyes
Definitely putting the last two on my watchlist, idk how I’ve gone this long and haven’t seen them
Hmmm 🤔 this was fun. I notice Myke likes horror movies in the daylight. Could just be a coincidence lol great vid
i sometimes forget ‘The Thing’ is considered a horror movie. I can only think of Kurt Russell with a flamethrower lmao
You gotta find more of these to do, this was cool. Also, like you… the second I saw Texas on there, I also knew you’d put it at One 😅
Calling the Susperia remake dog shit is that craziest thing about this video ngl
Loved this please do more brackets for any media 🙌
Dawn of the Dead takes it for me, it's my favorite horror movie so it was pretty clear from the jump. Hardest match-up was The Shining vs The Thing, had to let out a "AAAH" and go with The Thing by a hair.
The witch is so good. Hold thy tongue daughter
Mykeeee you should do a video or something with FD signifier, I’m sure the conversation on hip hop would be very nerdy and dope!
We had almost the same exact choices, except Hereditary would've gotten to final four for me. Texas Chainsaw is the greatest horror film ever made imo
I love this myke me as die hard horror fan sooo dope Candyman 1992 my All time favorite horror film ever. I'm going to see saw x Friday and the new
exorcist next Friday
Terrific video as ever Myke. Would love to see you do one for Billy Woods/Armand Hammer et al.
Yeah, that would be a lot of fun! I'm gonna do more of these. Just gotta figure out which ones. Stay tuned!
TCM was the clear winner for me too, with The Thing a close second, since Dream Warriors and Evil Dead 2 weren't on the list
I somehow just stumbled upon this. Was very fun. the wickerman is my favorite horror movie. it's cool to see your love for it.
Martyrs the French film was a master piece
Halloween over Texas for me. The more dark and sinister atmosphere and THE SOUNDTRACK wins it for me.
Let out a xenomorph scream when Alien went out first round
I LOVE that wicker man made it a far as it did, on your list!
This was super dope 🤟🏾
The original winkerman so damn good I remember seeing it for the first time when I was 8 back in 1996 scared the hell out of me definitely 😀
Not me yelling at you for your false praise of "the Chris Rock Saw" - that mess was garbage! 😂😂😂
Do you have a review out for The Witch? I’d love to hear more in depth thoughts about the whole movie
I have The Thing vs Exorcist in finals. With Exorcist winning by a slim margin. Only cause it’s the foundation of effed up Horror films. Dark psychological that set the bar so high.

the thing over the shining is wild. I agree though, idk about wicker man being better but the thing us my fav so theres that
texas chainsaw massacre is great. the only horror movies i rank with it are night of the living dead (original), rosemary's baby, evil dead (original), freaks, persona, and lost highway. i adore wicker man as well, though consider deep red to be argento's best.
i am not very into saw, but saw x felt was actually engaging and effective.
Great video Myke !! Loved the topic
There were a couple of other movies that didn't make the list, The Hills Have Eyes and Phantasm.
Nightmare going out first round hurt my soul
Me too!!!
anything missing from the brackets that would have put up a good fight? Evil Dead 2 seems like a notable omission.
Yeah, nothing tops Texas Chainsaw. Wicker Man is tight. Agree with most of your picks. I too love Final Destination and don't love Saw. You should give Susperia remake another shot. I doesn't compare to the original, but is really cool. Did you like Bones and All?
TCM is the correct choice.
You should do a bracket of albums produced by El-P
I guess TCM would be the most dreadful choice out of all. You should do more of these maybe tier list for Carpenter movies or just rankings of popular director's films.
Weird that they didn't decide to put Ring against The Grudge or Cure. Still agree a fair amount.
Couldn't agree more about Suspiria, the original is one of the best movies ever, the remake not so much
