    love this thank you for filming it. I can't believe how much it's changed. you don't even realise until watching this video but I can still remember most of it except the Hythe as that's changed dramatically. feeling old as I was only 1 years old when this video was made 😣

    Back in 86 did you think one day the world would have access to this?
    It’s eerie watching this in a way
    It’s like watching the past and present overlapping each other

      Absolutely not preinternet, it was just a new toy and I wanted to show people back in Australia my home town. I find it odd watching it now , its like a parallel universe.

    All those cars that now you won't see single one off those or even you do it's very very rare to see those old classics that never look old and love those old times wish I was there back then now every thing is changed and gone bad. It feels like world is ending.

      Has Technob I know what you mean, driving was a pleasure then and less Big Brother in general. Most of those freedoms have been eroded.

    Nostalgia right there. Grew up on 25 The Avenue and attended Hamilton Primary School on Cathedral Road back in 1986

    Very sad how many hawthorn trees have gone from both sides of Rowhedge Rd. They almost made a kind of avenue down to the village. Now there are only about four or five sickly specimens

    Were are all these cars gone why people don't keep them they looked great wish I had chance being born before so I could see the 80s and 90s

    • @TheWurn2

      The main reason is that they rusted away very quickly! Exhaust pipes rusted and fell off frequently. They needed frequent maintenance of which the average person could do the basics too, which is practically impossible now .

      @@TheWurn2 true also the thing is that after 2005 so many people starting buying cars on finance and after 2010 even more people and today so many people have cars on fianance which is ridiculous because what's the point of buying a fiance car when you don't even own it, what's being proud it that I rather but the car like people did 20 or 30 years ago and enjoyed the cars for long time then sell and buy another but now days people buy a car new the 2 years later they buy another new when the older one might only been 3 or 4 years old but back then people still called a 10 year old car new usually old car would be like more then 10 years. Hence people used to keep cars for at least 5 to 10 years before changing. Now I see people calling a 2015 car old and it's only 2019 yet. Back the e.g. a 1990 car in 2001 still would be new or just a second hand new.

      @@hassankhan384 all true. Having two dogs the idea of having new cars all the time is not on for me! Car dealers also look amazed if you want to pay cash now.

    Hello, I was wondering if you might consider licensing some of your Colchester material in a documentary I am involved in making? Please let me know and I can send my email address. Thank you! Katharine

    • @TheWurn2
      @TheWurn2  10 лет назад

      A Ford Fiesta belonged to my Dad, which I borrowed for my stay in the country. The camera was on a tripod on the passenger seat which I had to grab hold of occasionally to keep it steady.
