Wow ... a very sincere and humble Steele in this video. I thoroughly enjoyed you perspective and detailed breakdown. Thank You for taking the time to make this video.
Nice video, Mr. Steele. And much needed. I can direct anyone who asks me what it’s like to fly fpv straight to this for some plain talk from you who has been around for about 40+ fpv years, as measured in 1 actual year=7 fpv years (just like human years compared to dog years, it’s the same). Just foolin’ , but the point is that nothing substitutes for experience, nothing. And you’ve got a ton of it. So thank you. You are much appreciated.
Dude I have been on youthbe for years and I have left very few comments.. But this video is amazing and you put this into perfect perspective. I am dead set on getting the dji fpv now. So thank you for this!!! You gained a new subscriber for sure man!
I believe its the same thing i felt when i swapped between bf4.1 to kiss, it's the immersion feeling the realtime feed just allows us to have on our mind that we are there and not we're piloting it from down here. all that boost our confidence cuz we get that inner feeling we do what we want and not having that lil fear dat keeps us from pushing hard... at least that's how i feel about it (when i flew you rig first time the momment i cut thootle and i went down i really had that chest feeling i was falling and was amazing)
@@dansnowman29 aint just kiss its whole rig, imho stout v3 have shitty durability and expensive but the performance in flight is unique and ill keep using them (its the only weak point of the rig), i got two light weights one running session other the hero 8, i can tell str8 forward that the 575gr version you get a whole different quad flying experience, i flew marmottes, kakutes, xing motors, tmotors the old and new ones, iflights, apex w/ diferent gear and nothing came close to that feeling i get on the 575gr version apex light weight.
Yeah i get that too and now that Kiss started supporting DJI I finally got the DJI FPV goggles- Kiss/crossfire/DJI is a pretty awesome setup- i'm just learning to watch the latency when farther away from myself... it's all just sofa king fun!
Thanks for finally giving the DJI system an honest try and seeing how much it's improved since initial release, and what it is amazing at. Glad you're enjoying it!
Mad respect Steele. Just got a my set of DJI and can attest to that fact that they are both different beasts. I think it's fair that you were talking bad on it before because it wasn't the greatest when it first came out but with the updates it is getting better.
Fantastic video and comparison. I am still a beginner and could never fly good enough, like you, to notice that little bit of missing latency on DJI FPV. I will never touch analog again, HD flying is that good. Really uplifting video for the community. I can’t wait to see some of your production style videos. Respect ✊🏻

Yea I’m waiting till digital is at like version 10+ lol. Mostly because it will be cheaper to convert over but also it will be better with the latency lol.
Awwsomenesssss! Many more people will move to digital after watching this video, myself included(when I can afford too). A noticeable difference in your flying between analog and digital and eventually digital will fill those gaps. You always keep it real man! Inspiring!
Great video. Thanks for the info. Sounds to me like you just need to get used to Digital more than anything. I’m sure you will. You an amazing pilot. Well done.
Thanks for your honest opinion. This is very informative for most people new to fpv. What fpv system to choose for a full experience when flying. Keep safe and happy flying!
Love your insights Steele! I love the DJI system as it has fulfilled what I really wanted 6 years ago. I can do the flippity-floppity but enjoy the exploration and chasing even more. I have never been more jacked to fly FPV as I have been with the DJI system.
For people who have slowly invested in the best analogue equipment its not an option to just swap everything to dji system. Its all expensive. Maybe one day
Analog is literally the reason why my quad went in the lake last weekend. I was flying over the lake for scenery footage but it was overcast and on my FPV the water was literally a mirror of the sky and all I saw was black tree outlines. Well I didn’t realize I was losing altitude and went into the water. In my video I thought I was still 10ft +.... Really wish I’d had digital. I’d still probably have my quad. I just don’t have $900 to get a camera goggle system
Same thing happened to me a few months ago flying over glassy water, it was so flat and reflective with no ripples on the surface didn’t realise I has lost so much altitude during a slow turn and splash when I didn’t expect it, lost new build with GoPro.
@@GrauFPV yea cause seeing the ground and not isn’t important at all in seeing if you’re flight path is going into water or losing altitude. Clearly having bearing of your flight is overrated 🧐
@@mrmidnight32 what I'm saying is that it sounds like you cut it too close. im not ragging on you, but it seems it could have just as easily happened with a fancy digital system.
Dude... this is the explainer that has been missing. all the info has been out there, but nicely wrapped up with your expertise and no bullshit POV even if I don't agree, I know where you are coming from, that said, I have no reason to disagree with you, I know nothing I'm at the Analog tiny whoop stage... thinking about spending more and taking next step I've been waiting for this video... just to validate my own understanding of where the tech is. Thanks
@Russell Phelan cake and eat it. One can dream.. That’s why I think both will coexist for awhile. The plug and play crowd will go one way. The experimenters will be hard pressed to leave. This is obviously just my speculation.
I was super into whoops but have hardly even flown one since getting DJI, it just ruined analog for me completely. However with some of the newer whoop boards/motors/frames I was able to get a sub-40 gram DJI 75mm whoop on 2s which is almost as tiny and fun as the OG 1s 65mm whoops but in HD. A+ would recommend. (I'll try to have a build guide video, but I am an extremely lazy person so can't promise if/when it will be out 😄).
Very well said. I'm glad you spent some time with digital to see where it does work well, even though it's not perfect for your main type of flying. I started out with analog less than a year ago and I just didn't enjoy it as much. I live in an area with lots of trees like you, and I was constantly hitting branches because I couldn't see them coming. Since I was new, my reactions were slow and I couldn't bail quickly. Because of that, I would fly occasionally, but I never really enjoyed it. I decided to give digital a try because I already had several hundred bucks in gear and really wanted to enjoy using it. It totally changed the hobby for me. While there may be latency, the difference for me was that I could see the branches coming from much further away, and had much more time to react. I think having that confidence ramped up my learning curve substantially, and has made me a MUCH better pilot. Now when I occasionally do go back to analog for some of my smaller quads, I fly them much better just from having gained the confidence from the digital system.
I've followed you from basically the beginning of miniquads and the only conclusion I can reach regarding why people hate you at this point is because they ain't you. They are the kind of people that are unable to have a change of opinion on really anything in life (or they just won't ever admit it).
Very informative man. Especially for me an intermediate pilot who just did his first FPV flight today. For Christmas I got myself a pair of EV800 and binded with my Hubsan H501s which was beyond awesome. If you saw this 11 acre property its full of nooks and crannies with cargo containers all over on a commercially vacant property my boss has us stay on for various reasons. I obviously will be going digital once my feet are fully saterated with analog. But eventually wont everyone be digital once all the limitations are busted with digital? I think so. There's the price tag as well which plainly I'm just not there yet. But I will keep striving and learning and watching yer channel as well as the others I care to watch. You rock dude, but you know that already.... L8R Wikkid
I really like how you took the opportunity to reassess your view on digital. It's refreshing to see. I've been flying with both the entire time I've been flying FPV and I enjoy both options.
I have analog atm, I'm like 8 months into my fpv journey, having a blast. Why do you still use both? Also i have only used analog, is there much range differences between the two?
I have always appreciated your systematic approach to what you do, and why you do it that way. Consistency is a pilot’s best friend. Stepping out of the box, and sharing more ways to enjoy this hobby is awesome! Thanks for sharing your discovery’s! Definitely got me stoked all over again!
Thank you Mr. Steele, this video gave me my answer that i needed, but could not get from other fpv pilots. Others say that hd is awesome and latency is a bit more than analog, others say that on hd latency is unbearable, but you showed and explained in a detailed way that i needed to form my opinion. Thanks! And it truly is awesome to see people acknowledge that they change their mind and explain why.
Your attitude towards consistency is what makes you the badass pilot that you are. I admire that to the fullest. I´m glad to see that you are able to "change your mind" about a product you "talked **** about" (to quote).
You are an amazing fpv people and i think you make incredible review without any filter. Any human as its own way to think, you gave your first point of view and now (with more in depth review) you are able to give us concret examples in witch case you might use the product.
I'm personally still hesitating between both but I'm glad to have a fair point of view to be able to choose.
Thanks for everything you´ve been doing and keep doing it please.

@@MrSteeleFPV you rock mate. Great video. I'm still unsure but this really helps. Thank you.
I can see your pain in recommending DJi for most pilots. Good job on the video. Especially the last statements at the end of the video. Keeping people interested in fpv. Huge! Respect bro!

Thanks so much for such detailed information. I'm pulling the trigger on FPV and totally going digital. I think for a newbie the clearer picture is going to be more enjoyable
Thanks for the commentary and giving something new a fair shot, I think you realize now why everyone nagged at you to try it, your insight is valuable to the community 👍

Wow ... a very sincere and humble Steele in this video.

🙌. Someone understands where I’m coming from haha.
That was my experience. Kiss is more responsive to me.
@@MrSteeleFPV it's like playing guitar or speaking through it :)
6:17 (the gardener did a curious job..)(lol)
Mad respect Steele. Just got a my set of DJI and can attest to that fact that they are both different beasts. I think it's fair that you were talking bad on it before because it wasn't the greatest when it first came out but with the updates it is getting better.
Fantastic video and comparison. I am still a beginner and could never fly good enough, like you, to notice that little bit of missing latency on DJI FPV. I will never touch analog again, HD flying is that good. Really uplifting video for the community. I can’t wait to see some of your production style videos. Respect ✊🏻
🙌
@@MrSteeleFPV I meant additional latency on DJI FPV of course. Thanks for the whoop 🙌🏻 Maestro.
The DJI goggle V2 was good, but I'm sold to the goggle 2 and new 2023 systems!
Sorry Fatshark, it's been a pleasure but, I just found someone way more attractive and up-to-date.
It's been lovely spending time with you, but you became old-tech and boring to be around. After all these years you didn't care much about improving to keep me around, now the competition showed up you decide to wear lipstick?!
I know it might hurt, but, you just can't beat the beauty of the feature-loaded DJI's goggles 2.
Welcome DJI to my FPV world, but be aware that I'm also flirting with HDZero, she really is an eye-catcher too! 😁

before this video, i was 90% sure of which system to get, now im 100% sure. Thanks Mr Steele
Great way to explain the two systems
Love your insights Steele! I love the DJI system as it has fulfilled what I really wanted 6 years ago. I can do the flippity-floppity but enjoy the exploration and chasing even more. I have never been more jacked to fly FPV as I have been with the DJI system.
For people who have slowly invested in the best analogue equipment its not an option to just swap everything to dji system. Its all expensive. Maybe one day
Thanks, for the perspective. Ii just picked up the caddx vista and dji fpv goggles.
If Steel is in im in.
I was watching that stream and the way you praised how strong the signal sounded like you were honestly liking the dji system
That's fucking sad, That's the last thing I would like to happen in a crash :´(
Same thing happened to me a few months ago flying over glassy water, it was so flat and reflective with no ripples on the surface didn’t realise I has lost so much altitude during a slow turn and splash when I didn’t expect it, lost new build with GoPro.
thats pilot error, has nothing to do with digital vs analog
@@GrauFPV yea cause seeing the ground and not isn’t important at all in seeing if you’re flight path is going into water or losing altitude. Clearly having bearing of your flight is overrated 🧐
@@mrmidnight32 what I'm saying is that it sounds like you cut it too close. im not ragging on you, but it seems it could have just as easily happened with a fancy digital system.

Thank you for listening and forming your own opinions. :). I appreciate people like you. Thank you for being you sir. 🙏🏼

That’s what counts. If you’re not having fun you won’t fly FPV for long. I’m glad you stuck with it and are happy with digital :)
I've followed you from basically the beginning of miniquads and the only conclusion I can reach regarding why people hate you at this point is
because they ain't you. They are the kind of people that are unable to have a change of opinion on really anything in life (or they just won't ever admit it).
🙏🏼.
L8R Wikkid
So, the lawn pattern... am I new to the channel, or is no one going to mention that?
😂
I was expecting the top 10 comments to be about that.
“What’s up guys and one girl watching this video“ 🤣 I cant get over how good that is.

As for the video, it’s important to mention that such epic image quality is possible to achieve only with unlocked version DJI at 1200mW. Stock signal strength and antennas are way lower
I would TOTALLY buy dji INSTANTLY if they allowed HDMI out(without buying the smart controller for like twice the cost of the goggles lmao) and if they had a lighter option, i fly mainly small 65mm whoops and light toothpicks, would love a nano sized tx, even if it couldnt do the 1200mw
