As an American Indian Studies/Anthropology major, while I KNOW that BLM can mean Black Lives Matter, my immediate first thought is the Bureau of Land Management whenever I see/hear the acronym.

I've got no problem saying "Black Lives Matter" even though the whole this was poorly planned out and led to some pretty ridiculous situations due to it not having a clearly outlined agenda about what should be included and what the movement was really even about. "Black Lives Matter" isn't saying that the lives of black people are the only lives that matter, they are saying that black people's lives matter the same as everyone else's.
Despite you likely being lead to believe that racism was magically fixed when segregation ended, it is still very much present. Black people are still one of the most victimized groups by it.
I myself can't go into detail on the examples of this, as I can not speak for the people going through it. But if you look into what's been going on with black people, and actually listen to them, you may know what I am talking about.
I will warn you that a lot of what you may hear, might make you uncomfortable. The treatment of black people throughout history has been very brutal. I have a cousin who got secondhand trauma from learning about some of the things that happened.
However, as much as it is very heavy stuff, that can be very upsetting, it is still important to learn. If you don't learn about the bad things people have done, you won't learn how to avoid repeating them.
Also, feeling uncomfortable with this stuff is what's supposed to happen when you learn about it. It means you understand it was wrong, and are able to feel empathy towards the victims/survivors.
Sorry for the long response, I tend to rant when I feel passionate about something.
BLMGNF aka BLM a terroristic organization that uses Murder and weapons to justify it's own existence. That has been accused of embezzling and theft. Vs black lives matter... A motto that has good intentions. There wasn't issues with the movement, the issues were the organization.

honestly, I really oppose BLM's policy of letting loose free-roaming donkeys and horses, and I think nuclear energy (specifically thorium reactors) should be invested in rather than space-polluting wind turbines and solar farms. I got a friend who works for the Bureau of Land Management. Everything he owned that contained the "BLM" acronym had to be changed to Bureau of Land Management when it started becoming a problem for them in 2020.

Because the phrase “black lives matter” has a meaning in English apart from the organization of BLM. The use of the acronym clarifies this.

That happens because it's so ill-defined. Few people genuinely think that black lives don't matter. The problem is that when people say black lives matter, they mean a lot of different things which have a lot of different degrees of validity to them. It's the same with defund the police. It's way too short of a slogan to express any particularly meaningful position. We can't literally defund the police and expect any good to come of it, without doing other things like allocating that money to alternate ways of addressing the same problems and really doing that before the defunding. But, that isn't an automatic assumption that comes from the slogan and there are a few people who literally mean, defund the police and call it a day. (Admittedly that's fringe)

@@drippycity4135 it could mean you stand with the organization itself and all their beliefs. One issue with the BLM (Black Lives Matter) organization that I’ve heard from multiple people is that they are apparently against the idea of a nuclear family, which many people don’t like. That is the exact reason why my dad doesn’t like the BLM organization. It’s not that he dislikes black people, it’s that he hates how the organization is against the idea of a nuclear family or having a father figure in the family as he loves being a father in a nuclear family household. I’ve never looked into this myself because frankly, I just don’t care and I personally suck at research. I’ll let people think what they want of me based on my own actions, not me going out of my way to say Black Lives Matter whenever I get the chance.
A couple of people in one state started an "official" BLM group, ostensibly trying to organize, group together, and create a main power structure for Black Lives Matter activists.
In truth, these people were both scam artists who stole as much as a few hundred thousand in donations by basically running a sham organization, after which both dissembled and fled. I don't know if they were caught or if anything was even held against them, but they gave BLM as a whole a bad reputation.
A lot of people who talk about it being an organization, it being terrible, it being fraud, stuff like that, are unknowingly referring to this scam organization.
True Black Lives Matter activists are just normal people, across this and other countries, who generally aren't involved with taking or spending money, much less spending it like that small organization did.
All it did was money the waters and give haters ammunition, because they don't have to look very far or google very hard to find some kind of information they can abuse to pretend like everyone in this country is related to those two people and their sham organization.

Some black people dont seem to think so. Black on black crime has rocketed since they painted BLM on the street and cut funding for police they wanted defunded. Bring back law and order for Black lives to matter again.

Jokes aside, this is actually a very interesting phenomenon!
I think the reason why some people always say BLM instead of Black Lives Matter is because either they don't want the idea that black people do in fact matter in their heads or they think the name Black Lives Matter doesn't reflect that Black Lives Matter actually does.
Some people are racist but deep down not racist (yeah ik it's weird), they oppose Black Lives Matter but they avoid feeling bad and like a dehumanizing jerk by using the acronym BLM.
Some people think that by saying "Black Lives Matter" is excluding the other people of other races and implying that they don't matter. BLM just seems more broad in that sense. Now of course, this is a somewhat stupid reason to say BLM instead of Black Lives Matter, but it does make sense why people think that this is the case. Also not everyone in Black Lives Matter actually thinks that Black Lives Matter, yeah what a world we live in.
My theory on why they type BLM is because it’s much easier to type… Jesus Christ you people are something else.

Depends on where you live. It was a bit of a culture shock for me, moving from a liberal college campus to a rural town where 99% of the time when people say BLM they actually mean Bureau of Land Management. Total flip. I was confused as heck at first.

I think people just say BLM cause writing out Black Lives Matter is a lot, same with US, NFL etc.
It's because it makes it sound like the name of a specific group of people, rather than a phrase that is said by a lot of people who are unrelated to each other except for saying the same three words.

This was beautiful and hella funny, especially since Black Lives Matter is just Black Lives Matter; ya know because it matters that you articulate the words and whenever I hear BLM all I ever think of is the Bureau of Land Management since I am old and they had the letters first and being a US Government agency its always abbreviated. So, yeah if you say BLM to me I automatically think Bureau of Land Management.
