You can look like anyone. Bottom line, the recruiters are looking for a "certain something". Not everyone has "it" I'm not sure what it is. But I was hired as a mainline fa immediately. But the fa's work as a team and able to work on your own and be your own boss. And be able to handle any situation thrown your way. The recruiters know who they are looking for and hire them. Good luck!
Thank you for the info.I’m currently in the navy getting my college degree in hospitality once I get out I plan on doing 20 years as a flight attendant

I am studying tourism at Vocational Institute, I will graduate in December and after that I am thinking of applying to Finnair. This video gave me a lot of useful information so thank you so much for the info and I hope that I will be a great flight attendant like you one day🥰.

Are you required to be vaccinated? I’m interested in applying these days and I’m super scared also super curious at the same time . Thank you so much for this video!
Thank you so much for this video I just graduated and my mother wanted me to become a flight attendant she thinks it would be a wonderful opportunity for me and before I just jump straight in I want to know some information and this was so helpful I'm so scared because I'm not the type of person to like you know leave the nest and I'm always with my mother i just took a trip to Florida for the first time ever being on a plain my body felt very weird and sick being in a new Environment I don't know what I should do but I know ounce I'm ready this was so helpful ❤
Recruiters know what they are looking for.mom wants you,not enough.look for another career that u will be very happy in! It's not for everyone.flying is not for everyone, you never see family, friends, alone on Christmas,NYE,birthdays, every holiday. There are many other fields in airline industry!! Travel benefits too!! thank you this!! i’m thinking about this but have no clue if it’s right for me. i’ m 20 yrs old and think this career might be perfect for me for the next decade or so, but what’s the schedule like once you get promoted to higher levels? When i’m 30 or so, and have kids, etc… will i be able to manage a flexible and healthy work-life balance?
Yes because your seniority will be at a point to where you can preference your schedule the way you want it. A lot of the more senior FA’s get 2-3 weeks off at a time because they get awarded what they bid for. They might work only at the beginning or end of each month and have the middle of month of, for example. Source : I’m a flight attendant
Hey! This video was super helpful. I am currently in the process of my second phase interview and I wanted more clarification if the airlines cover for hotel stay and airfare for training? Or if it’s only for the food that will cover?
hi there and congrats! 🎈 the airline will pay for the hotel during training and they will fly you there but you will have to at for food (at least for my airline) they provide lunch but other meals you pay for
Should you save up money (and how much if so) in order to start? Since the training is unpaid & can relocate you. Do you recommend saving up enough to live off of for 2 months in another city/state?
First, thank you for taking the time to discuss this topic! Second, I have a few questions about options. Do you choose regional or mainline? Also, do you get to choose between reserve or lineholder? Are they strict about dress code specifically runs in panty hose throughout the day?
thanks for watching! and essentially yes you choose regional or mainline because its different when you apply. reserve and line holder is not really a choice, its what your seniority can hold. and they would prefer you didn't have runs in your pantyhose but no one is following you around checking lol
Thank you so much for this video! It was so much more information than I expected & was everything I needed. I’ve been thinking for a few years about applying but never knew enough to take that leap. I have one question; I’ve been thinking of going to University for a degree & was wondering how difficult it would be to be a flight attendant & go to school. Would you recommend getting to a more senior status before starting school?
hi there! thank you for watching! and honestly school and being a flight attendant in the early stages would be close to impossible ☹️ your schedule will be too all over the place. after gaining some seniority I believe it would be doable but I wouldn’t recommend it for now
Thank you for your video and all the helpful information. Im very interested in this career and actively trying to get involved. One question I have for you is didn't you have too or do most airlines prefer you to have already gone to some type of flight attendant school or classes before applying or should you apply without any experience and if accepted they send you to the classes required?
Thank you for this most informative video! I do have one question. I'm not a good swimmer, I can swim across the pool but only dog-paddling or on my back. I'm not comfortable in deep water at all. I have to know the bottom is at or just below my feet to be comfortable. I tried learning, took some lessons, but no use. Will this hurt my chances?
Your video was very informative! I plan on becoming a FA. I live in Miami but currently work as ramp agent for MIA, does that experience help in getting hired as a FA? I also have 2 passports, Canadian and American, Im just wondering if my ramp agent experience will make me stand out as a candidate?
EXCELLENT video ! I saw another video and she stated that you can be told to report to the airport but not be assigned a flight. Do you get paid for reporting . Reserve will receive days off every week?
yes ma'am that's correct! you will receive hours for sitting at the airport even if you aren't used. & reserves get a minimum of 1 day off a week but could be more.
Considering this at 43 am I nutts? My youngest is 14. I’ve always wanted to be a flight attendant could never part from family but with.. looking forward to a new adventure soon.
how old would you recommended working as a flight attendant? Im 19 yrs old in college right now and don’t graduate for another 2 years and a half. I would want to join reserve but I worry that the schedule would be too hectic for a full time student.
I applied and within days, I received the next step and then the video interview, but they cancelled it and did not give me a reason. I was not sure why, but a day after I received a face to face interview and now I am going to Denver next month. I am super excited and need to know what to wear on the plane. Where do I get some scarfs from, I want to walk in the airport as if I am going to work.

If you're a commuter and on reserve and don't get called to fly that day, but have to be there say 4 days in a row on call... who pays for the hotel? Is that on the FA or does the airline give you a certain amount of nights to use per month?
if you commute, that's strictly on you as the flight attendant. we use these places called crash pads where a bunch of FAs can pay monthly for a place to sleep when they need to which is cheaper than a hotel each time.
Hey I've been researching everything for a few days now, and it just occurred to me. I am missing one of my incisor teeth and am still a few years out from being able to get a implant to replace it. Would i basically be automatically ruled out from the process because of that?
Hellloooo❤I enjoyed your video so much ❤I’m planning to apply air line soon! So my question is the height. I’m not tall and I’m very concerned to fail bc I’m short. Did you have some height test or reaching test? Thank you in advance ❤
thank you for watching! I do not remember any reach test but I believe things have changed a little since I started. I am not completely sure but I want to say no reach test 😊 hope this helps!
Great video, i have one question though. Would you need to be a citizen of the country the airline is based in? I am currently going through high school and I really want to be a flight attendant in Canada.
Hey beauty ! Loved the video and it answered a lot of my questions but my one question is while training and relocating, do they pay for your stay ..? Or that’s out of pocket ..?
hi love! so in training they put you in a hotel but relocating would be out of pocket. my airline gave us a hotel for a week after training but other than that we had to cover everything!
Awesome video thank so much! Question for you I am interested in becoming a FA but I wanted know if you think I would have to cut my hair or wear it a certain way? Thanks for your time 🙂
I’m late so I hope you can see this , but I’ve been thinking about being a flight attendant and the only thing I can think about is how difficult it is opening and closing the airplane door lol, what if you can’t do it ? Or you’re struggling too much in training to do it ? Will they not accept you
Hey there! When can you start using the free flying benefits after training & how much people are you allowed to use the flight benefits for prr month?
hello! so I believe you can start using your benefits to an extent right away. and once a year you can change who all gets to fly using your benefits. its a few different options but contrary to popular belief you can't just hand benefits out like candy lol
if you pass training, yes. the training is with the airline that hires you. it’s like applying for any other job and getting hired, you have that specific job after training. hope that helps (:
So is it best to just not drink or go out when youre on call? I cant imagine being out or having had drinks somewhere and then get a call saying you have to work that day. Also is the pay different for mainline and regional?
yes its best to not to when on call because you can't drink a certain amount of hours before your shift but you can live your life (kinda) just have to be available 3 hours after they call.
So what I’m hearing is this career field sounds good for single people lol. Because if you have a family they can’t travel with you. How does it work if you have a husband and kids? Like I know you said it’s a monthly schedule.. so can you move your family to where your “home base” is? Like if your home base is Philadelphia… you may have to fly out of town/state or country for the days you’re scheduled to work.. is that how it works? And then on your off days you can come home?
it is great for single people but people with families also make it work.. I think the most important thing to remember is when you're needed at the airport, you need to be there. past that, your free time is yours. so if you want to pack your family up and move them, then by all means do that lol but if you want to live somewhere other than your base and just go to base on your work days, then do that. in the beginning is the hardest but once you get a line (a set schedule) then its a lot easier.
Question 🙋♀️!! Ok so I heard from a lady who has a friend that is a flight attendant that if you fail a section of training you have to completely restart? Is that true? Thanks for the video by the way!! This has really helped me think deeper into my career path
hey hey. I'm so interested in being one of the flight attendant but I originate from Botswana, so I really wanna know about the requirements and all that because it's not like we have much of the airlines in Botswana. sending love .❤
Question: why do flight attendants do a 5 hour flight then go stays at a hotel then go back and do another flight? Cant F. Attendants just go to a destination and fly back to their base? Can they opt not to stay at a hotel?
hi there and no you have to do what your trip says. sometimes it is a "fly 5 hours then go back" but sometimes its "fly 5 hours, layover at the hotel, then go somewhere else the next day" .. hope that helps
Hi love quick question! I’m finally looking into FA I had to break a while but my son is getting older, what exactly are they looking for in our resume? Im looking to change mine tonight more professional just want more of an insight what they are looking for
hi there! so they are looking for customer service experience mainly and if you have any first aid training or speak any of the qualifying languages that would be great too! (:
So I’m 19 and I really want to start but idk what to do. I’ve watched videos and I feel like when I tried to apply I wasn’t putting the right information to get there attention
I have some friends who are flight attendants and they look like they have the best of times and have met such amazing friends but the training sounds rough
yes it truly brings so many great people and experiences but training is something I would never want to do again lol

I’m late so I hope you can see this , but I’ve been thinking about being a flight attendant and the only thing I can think about is how difficult it is opening and closing the airplane door lol, what if you can’t do it ? Or you’re struggling too much in training to do it ? Will they not accept you
lol you definitely need to be able to open and close the door but we dont do that everyday .. the gate agents do
I don’t know what airline to apply for I’m 18… do I have to go to training program or do they train us?
what determines whether you're a line holder or on reserve?
your seniority .. you start out as a reserve until you’re senior enough to hold a line
Are you guaranteed to be a flight attendant after your six weeks training?
if you pass training, yes. the training is with the airline that hires you. it’s like applying for any other job and getting hired, you have that specific job after training. hope that helps (:
This has really helped me think deeper into my career path
so for my airline, we got one test redo but after that unfortunately they send you home ☹️ they will typically invite you back at a later date though!
Work Hours begin on how long you are in the air?
Do you have to be a certain weight? I know that’s an odd question, I’m curious
nope they did away with that luckily or I wouldn't of made the cut lol
Should I Do a travel academy first prior to applying to these airlines?
nope, just apply. they'll teach you everything you need to know (:
Do you know what mainline carriers do a vision or heating test?
I’m not sure which ones do, but I’m going to assume they all do
hi im 13 and i really want to be a flight attendant its my dream job :)
hi lovely! you can do anything! finish school strong and then get to the friendly skies 💙
