I mean sheep are known to be quite the herd animal if one sheep goes they all go so if the sheep do truly take the werewolf shepherd as their herd leader the sheep will be with them everywhere church roof is not even a question the sheep are there if werewolf shepherd is there so the funnier part of this would be a werewolf running around your town causing mayhem and like 100 sheep behind them at all times
I also imagine the sheep just kinda calming the weresheperd so sure he wakes up on a church roof with 100 baking sheep and everyone knows he is a werewolf but the only problem is a few houses were broken into and raided for food for the wereshepered and his sheep
And the sheperd gives 100* value with his sheep's wool so everyone just deals with it even leaving a large stack of meat and veggies to prevent the property damage

I just love the idea that despite turning into a mindless beast every full Moon, the Shepard is so dedicated to his flock that not even becoming a werewolf can compel him to harm the flock. I also love the idea that he's so kind to the flock that they get one whiff of him in wolf form and they're all "OH ITS YOU!" and not even being an 8 foot tall snarling man wolf can make him frightening to them.
I'm not amazed by the fact that the werewolf didn't eat his herd during any full moon, I'm amazed by the fact that the sheep climber up to the church roof.
Professional courtesy, perhaps? Plot twist: the flock are really sheepweres, that turn HUMAN during the full moon. That would explain how they could do things like climb on a church roof in the middle of the night.

No. A werewolf in D&D under the effects of the moon change is forced into acting the alignment of the change...which is chaotic evil for a werewolf. When not in the forced change of a full moon, they are their normal selves. But while the moon forces their change they become chaotic evil and act that way. This is actually why one of the most hilarious punishments for someone evil...is to inflict them with lycanthropy as a werebear. Werebears are lawful good. While transformed they would actively undermine their own plans. Edit: Those born from a lycanthrope can have other alignments and remain that way ONLY if they are born while the mother is transformed. Even with this they must be within one step of the mother's alignment. So a first gen wereworlf could be neutral evil, or chaotic neutral. A second gen can deviate a little farther, a third gen farther yet. The catch is...you must be a born lycanthrope, never get the curse lifted (all clerics can lift the curse with a relatively low level spell) and must be born during a full transformation and survive it. In 3.5e D&D went into some depth in official books about lycanthropy and the rules for it.

The fighter: im a weretiger and all that howling is cutting into my siesta time....and his weird request of looking for the people taking his sheep was narrowed down to some cattle rustlers from a rival farm. How is it weird? The rustlers are werewolves too. Not really smart ones neather.
Oh I loved playing this concept! He was such a lovely guy (used shifter instead of werewolf due to it being a short campaign), loved his sheep more than anything. Bit awkward, good heart. He also could summon sheep shears whenever he wanted to. Bonus.
