Takara really hit it out of the park with this one. I can appreciate it, and I'm not even a fan. I'd like to see them do something similar with G1 Megatron, like maybe an airsoft or something. I doubt that it'd even be possible, but you never know.
Couple of years back I tried to kitbash an old MP Optimus into a working iPod Dock soundwave. A 3rd Generation nano fits right in the torso. Didn't get very far, but I'd love to take another crack at it one day.

I just got this guy for Xmas. It's awesome, but I've got a question. The HLJ page says it cannot handle a miniSD card larger than 1 gig. I am having a lot of difficulty finding that. I was wondering, since you didn't mention it in your video, did you use just any old SD card with a higher capacity'? Have you found the capacity to matter at all? Or does it really have to take 1 gig or less? Have a good holiday!
Hes anywhere from 65 - 100 dollars American, from what I have seen. Personally, if you are a collector it is totally worth it. Amazingggg figure, hell that would be an understatement.

actually, the box has a white soundwave on the front because the original music label soundwave was white like the music label optimus prime. this, sorry, is a reissue called spark blue, as it says on the box. they also have a black version that is supposed to be like sound blaster. ps thirty nine people dont got the touch.
brilliant! this is how you update Soundwave. no cassettes but SD cards. the cassette holder could be the mp3screen. i love it! he is an Mp3 player but still looks like Soundwave, and your right he is perfect for my classic collection!! fantastic! Takara?
@Hildaglitz Many PC's come with a SD card reader slot. Put the card in the pc and transfer your music list onto it same as you would an MP3 or other removable device. If it is micro, there is an adaptor for that. If you don't have a reader, i have put a micro sd card into a standard sd adaptor, put that into a digital camera and plugged the camera into the pc via USB port. Then instead of moving pics off the sd card i put music on the sd card, then popped the card out of the camera. Yatzee!

Luckily I got this old 512mb micro SD memory card from my old cell phone + a universal card reader... If you miss-transform his legs (heels facing foward) he does resembles his G1 counterpart. One of this days I going to print G1 soundwave stickers and stick it to this little guy. Anybody wanna get one, just go ahead and get it.

I will also have to put The Touch on it. I'm a new fan of 80s Transformers, after I saw a few episodes on RUclips. I like Soundwave the best out of the Decepticons so I got this MP3 playing version of him.
LOL i just did. i did some checking and once again Takara does it again! i heard about it i just never saw one. this is one i cant pass up...its Soundwave, he looks like Soundwave...but he is an mp3 player!!! Soundwave is updated! and now i understand the Soundwave on Randomus Prime. the original Soundwave has always been my fav TF toy from the 80s. he looks great.

She is into art...and i told her that back in the 80s lines were sleek, there was a look to everything from cars to toys to music...she asked me why there are no girl transformers and i think to myself that in this day and time things could be made a market that way..she asked me if they are all males then how do they reproduce lol..she came up with why they should have female chracters...its funny after all these years..i too am on the look out for soundwavemp3 player

I bought a Soundwave rerelease a few years back. It cost about $45 dollers. I can't imagine how much this costs.

There is the transformable Rumble/Frenzy earphones if that counts.
It looks like it uses the adaptors for the Micro-SD cards, so you can use them in the Regular SD card Ports.
