  • Two kayak trips to Buzzard Bay, Massachusetts to get some Black Sea Bass and ended up filling the cooler both days with togs, scups and BSBs. All on slow pitch jigs made by DeepLiner.
    Rod: DeepLiner Logical 55
    Reel: SEiGLER SG with 30 lbs braid and 20 lbs AFTCO leader
    Jig: Deepliner Spy V and Spindle 80 grams
    Rig: Hobie Pro Angler 14 with YakAttack camera mounts
    Song: Non Partial, Non Political from Soja, Soldiers of Jah Army.

    how were the 80g jigs holding down there? did you guys scope out much or did you feel it was an adequate weight for the depth?

      I was there for a year and that was all I used. 80 to 150 grams depending on the current.

      Mano de verdad que estas varas hechas por los Japoneses son lo mejor. Cada ves que alguien que hacen varas customs aqui las ven, se quedan con lo voca abierta. Desafortunadamente, DeepLiner no creo que todavia hace delivery en este lado del mundo. La vara es DeepLiner Logical 55 #0 con un SEiGLER SG reel para aguas llanas. Recomiendo un Shimano Ocea Jigger 2000 para aguas de mas de 300 pies.

    What are your thoughts on slow pitch rods for blackfish? I haven’t tried it yet but any people say the rod action is too slow for proper hook sets. I love slow pitch for sea bass but wonder about tog.
