- In this video we show our latest product for the much loved Land Rover Discovery 3 and 4
This is a military style MOLLE plate ideal for extra security and adding accessories.
These are available on our website www.powerfuluk...
i actually can’t believe i’ve stumbled across the is product! i currently have both sides in my basket & can’t wait to buy & install these, aswell as the defender box. genuinely fantastic video/product!
Simon. Another fantastically designed and really useful product. “Top team”. It is also great to see you have designed this with different mounting options, as not everyone is brave enough to drill holes in the bodywork, as well as all the accessory options to add and make the most of the product. 👍
AMAZING! Makes me miss my LR4 even more. Before she went away I was REALLY lookin forward to this beautiful bit o' kit. Great work.
Well done Simon and the team, another great product! A little idea that also might work, when I was fitting a maxtrax carrier I used super strong rubberised magnets with integrated M6 nut, they provide quite strong attaching points as well as distributing the load in similar manner as your blocks. I believe these magnets might be good alternative.
We love magnets - I will start searching - the great thing about the 3 printed "flippers" is that we can change the design very quickly.
Simon, us freelander 2 boys need these. Design some and take my money 🤣
Don't forget the Freelander 2 girls aswell ... I will get this on the list.. need to look at how to fix in the gutter mount
Yes please for the freelander 2!!!
I still think the D3 and D4 was the best looking landie ever made and for me personally the most capable all rounder, thus just adds to their looks me to would be frightened to drill through the body but if it was going to remain could be an issue come sales time, but nit sure adhesive would be solid enough.
Yes drilling is note very reversible ! we will look at other options. Road signs are now attached with double sided adhesive !
3M VBH tape is very strong, I would have no qualms using it to fit these.
@@L663 totally agree adhesives are most likely very good with tech these days just can’t tell my brain that I’m sure it is totally adequate. But a mechanical fixing will be much stronger if a tree branch grabs it
With them held good and tight at the top rail and mounts/feet screwed to the plate then even if the adhesive came a loose hopefully not much, if any damage would happen and you wouldn't loose anything so you could restick it with some new adhesive.
Any potential for creating these for the L322?...Great idea and great product, Simon!!
That’s exactly what I was thinking.
Freelander 2????? 🙏🏼🤞🏻👍🏻
Good to see the disco getting some love!
Also wouldn't it be easier for the drilling option to make a through whole in the steel plate so you can mount the stand offs and the drill straight through mount the rivet nut and tighten all at once without needing to double hand things. So to recap just had a hole in the steel plate that lines up with the hole in the stand off m6 hole.
What a great product guys, wow, very well thought out! I’m in the US, am I even able to order this thing!! Without spending a fortune!
So, I bought a pair of these a few months back and plan to use 3M VBH tape for the bottom mounts and as I have a Frontrunner Slimline II installed (guessing quite a few peeps will have a roof rack of some sort), will be “working out” a way to fix them to it at the top. I’m, sure it can be done if not already by someone (let me know!), but will let you know how I get on! Great Product though - even just to look at out the box! 😎
Did you get this sorted out? Would like to see pics, etc
Did you manage to do this? I have a flat dog roof rack and would love to also install a Molle plate
I would be very interested in a reversible version, thank you for your innovation!
We are working on it !
I like it! If you're in to cutting and bending sheet metal - how's about doing a front tow cover/skid plate for the Disco Sport. Take a look at the one on the Matzker Land Rover site, it looks ace. I'd buy one in a heartbeat.
Love this concept BUT having to take my tent and rack off to install would suck. My setup is made to be permanently there as an overlanding rig
Well impressed with these they are now on my wish list
Excellent ! We have sold a lot of these now and have good customer feedback !
this is a great looking bit of kit, would love to see something like that for the freelander 2
The team are working on it this week !
@@L663 oh wow I look forward to seeing it built up and how it is installed, underrated little machines
Awesome. Can these still get mounted on if you have a Front Runner Rack on top?
Lovely job 🚘🚙🚗👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you 👍
Drilling the body is the main issue, but i think a good idea is to come up with options u could put on the fixing points if u want to take it back off
Should have gone to Specsavers!!! Oh Simon…it will be alright on the night! Useful but I would go for the stick on version as I hate holes!! 😀😀😀😀Richard
Hi Richard - Yes the "no drill" option needs more investigation. A balance between easy to fit and secure in a crash etc is the issue i have to weigh up here !
@@L663 Would a rare Earth magnet help (as long as there are no electrics behind of course!)? I’m thinking good strong sticky pad (a camera Mount seems very effective) plus a built in magnet but manufacturing that plus costs would be a challenge. Maybe the customers who need the plate will not worry too much about holes…the cars are relatively old already so might not be so sensitive? Hmmm…🤔🧐🙂🙂🙂
I have thought about Mollle panel but on the inside of the rear 1/4 windows on the Freelander 2, not sure on fixing yet as need to take the trim off to have a good look.
Awesome video! Can I purchase the bottom mounts separately?
Guys loving the molly plates. My only issue would be that they are very easy to have them stollen.
Yes - we do offer a shear nut kit for the top mount - I will get that added to the D4 page on our site
Brilliant idea, love its versatility. Can you still mount this with A full expedition type roof rack?
Hi 👋 very nicely designed and helpful for off road tracking.
🙏🙏
What about using suctions cup mounts for the lower section against the vehicle waistline?
That idea sucks.... sorry could not resist that - yes this could be a good option - cornering forces are the big concern.
Looks a great fit 👍
There were several versions before we got to this design - we are very happy with the proportions etc - glad that people like the appearance - just need to work on the "no drill" versions now
I understand the no drill idea but I’d prefer something fitted securely I think with a little weight , and off road movements this may weaken the adhesive overtime ! I also think a rear window Molle wouldn’t be such a bad idea ! I’ll be placing an order soon I’m very impressed 👍
Can you guys please create “Raptor style” amber colored grille lights & hardware that fit the D4 grille specifically? These would act as daytime running lights. They look so good on Raptors, 4Runners, and Jeeps.
Would love one of these, but I have a flat dog roof rack installed which attaches to a narrower roof rail than the original Land Rover one. Not sure if this is the same as the front runner rails? Any chance of getting fittings for the top of the molle plate that will work with my existing set up?
Please make a “stick on” version... I’m not comfortable with drilling into the side of my vehicle haha.
I think you are not alone - others are suggesting strong magnets... we shall take a look
@@L663 It’s a combination of resale value (if I ever do sell it) and I’m not too great with drills.
I wonder if suction cup feet would work, save drilling?
Great video and great product but I still wince every time you drill holes in things lol.
Hi Simon could you please have a quick look at the Safety devices roof rack and see if you think these would be compatible? (It has a rail along the outside of the roof rail) so depending on the height of your top mounts it might work.
If you want a look at one sometime I am in your area regularly.
In the actual page where i would buy the molle plate all the discription talks about is it fits the new defender 110 series but doesnt say it fits the lr3 or lr4 series land rovers. So does it or is there another link to the molle plate that fits the 3 & 4 Discoverys.
Im in the USA EAST COAST and very interested in the molle plate for my land rover lr4 hse .ive already bought the gear box but didnt realise it won't mount at the bottom with out the molle plate.
PLEASE REPLY ON WHAT I NEED TO DO ?
And some sneaky more!
Still catching up after 2 weeks in France .... we have a massive video backlog !
These are pretty cool. I’d be keen to use this option to mount some maxtrax. But I still can’t bring myself to drill the body.
Yes we are working on a non drill version.... lots of people scared with the whole drillage thing !
@@L663 good stuff. I have a g4 challenge. I’d like to keep it original as much as possible. 👍
Nice out-take. Could save many people making the same mistake 👍🏻
I thought i would put that in.... it had me really confused for a while !
Simon are you able to produce the molle plate for a Nissan navara np300?
I have a G4 Roof Rack.
I’m guessing it won’t work with the Rack on?
Very cool!
I'm ready to order a set! Let me know when you start shipping!
These are available now

Great product. What is the possibility of fixing the plate with Front runner roof rack? thanks. My plan is to carry max trax on them.
Hi - I need to get my hands on one to have a look at.
Simon why not have an additional hole for the M6 though the Molle plate so you can tighten it without moving it out f the way?
lol , exactly what i thought
Good question - the problem was the angle of the molle plate is not the same as the side of the car which it would really need to be for this to work as the rivnut is always perpendicular to the panel and the molle plate bolt also needs to be perpendicular to the molle plate. The design also stops the blocks rotating - not a major issue but with a single bolt they could rotate. Assembly although more complex may be easier with our design as you do not have to align 3 items - just 2 at a time. It is a good question and made me think... I will take a look again tomorrow...
Brilliant ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thanks
So will MOLLE comparable equipment fit on this?
Very nice idea, do you make for other brands ?
Not at the moment but we were looking at the jimny
Can you/would you build just solid one's and sell it for security reasons to cover the glass 🤔
How would this be applied ? double sided tape ? bolted to body ? outside or inside ? interesting in your thoughts !
@@L663 bolted on the outside but instead of having mounting holes for the Defender box, make a blank sheet with same mounting points bolted to the body.
Could you design this for the Range Rover P38?
Wouldn't this interfer eith my ability to mount a terrafirma roof rack?
Possibly !
Can these be fitted to the rino rack pioneer platform roof rack system?
We have a lot of people asking about this and the front runner racks - so far we have not been able to get a vehicle with the racks on to test / develope and adaptor.
Very cool. Anybody know how this sounds going down the highway?
No complains of noise so far - anyone else want to comment ?
@@L663 How would I order something from your site if I live in The US?
Could you not have slightly extended to mole plate to fix behind the rear light/ and door catch to avoid having to drill into the body?
We did look at several options and i think we will bring out a self adhesive / Bonded version for fixing the lower blocks. Your idea is valid but we were trying to keep a clean look to the overall plate.
@@L663 thanks for the reply, I do like it though 🙂
Are you going to sell your own side storage box ?
Can this work with a full length roof rack such as the frontrunner?
Sorry - not sure of this is possible
@@L663 They would look slick with a Front Runner roof rack, It doesn't look like the top mount would be to far off fitting to the underside of the roof rack. Interesting. Im three hours away and would love to pop down for a trial fitting, obvs I have a Front Runner roof rack.
Human after all! Who’d have thunk it 😅
Hi Simon what material and printer are the 3d printed parts from and made on?
Hi James - have Ultimaker S5 machines and are using ABS for most parts.
@@simonjefferson thanks for the reply great choice!
Any plans to make a set for the Freelander 1 too?
There is a guy that makes some plastic window covers for the Freelander 1 - nice guy and the proceeds go to charity - I dont want to step on his toes but his product does not have much function
@@L663 I am aware of them and as you say they are purely cosmetic and not what I'm looking for...
Do you do them for the real defender ?
We will get the real Defender out tomorrow and into the workshop... so I will take a look !
Ou trouvé sa en france
💕💕❤️❤️🙏🙏
🥇🏆🥇👍👍
Доброго здоров'я привіт з Одеси Україна.
Freelander 2 ? Please … please…..
Why the fuck would you put a molle plate on? Wider car to get stuff damaged.
Good question !! Security for rear windows ? Carry stuff ? Hang stuff when camping
And it’s no wider than the wing mirrors
