- Swapping dirt and dirtiest blocks makes this challenge much more problematic. Luckily, I'm taking a geophysics course that should be perfect for this...

Looking through a needle stack sounds considerably more painful
Saw agrees
Yeah. Finding a needle in a haystack will take forever, sure, but it's just hay.
Finding a piece of hay in a needlestack, however, will take forever, but you'll also stab yourself many times.
@@tonmpaz Who?
@@tonmpaz I was thinking the exact same thing lol
@@robuxyyyyyyyyyy4708 Saw the movie death traps and such i believe it was a Saw trap.
when the merchant said "You have no idea how much dirt blocks sell for overseas." I expected them to be rare but holy crap
Yo thats true
I always thought that was a Sipsco reference.
@@redumulis2448 i dont think you know how old terraria is lol
Glad you're able to properly use your major in a "real world" scenario! Wonderful job making this very digestible for us non geology major plebs
congrats on 2 years!
who the hell buys member on channels? just flush your money down the toilet down the drain atleast that is more useful
Just imagine a geology teacher casually stumbling upon this video
Burgir
@@PuceGaming445 its literally just pateron built into youtube, so they get extra content and shit. even if they didnt, being nice and supporting a creator you like isnt a waste of money
Never in my life did I expect geophysics in Terraria. As a fellow geologist, I salute you for the brilliant demonstration :D
It's way too fun.
Embarque nesse carrossel
@7:36 Actually, freezing ground beneath water or when the ground is wet is done in real life sometimes to dig a pit or tunnel without water leaking in and eroding the walls. Once you build your basement or tunnel walls, you turn off the cooling and let the ground settle in against it.
Average gamer: *too lazy to do it*
The gamer that excels at geophysics: My time has come
You being a geology major definitely makes sense. I now understand why in the "all screens in one year video" had you discussing the formation of some of the gems IRL. You learn something new everyday! Thanks for the geology lesson :)
I couldn’t imagine the inventory management in a world like this.
Don't give him ideas.
Imagine replacing all the broken dirtiest block
"Non-invasive"
Proceeds to turn half the world into snow and ice
imagine they were stacking just not only in inventory, but while following you
I love learning little bits of actual science in videos about dumb stuff like finding the least dirty block in a Terraria world.
Damn he is REALLY dedicated to this literal piece of dirt.
I feel like more subjects can be explained through games like this. It makes it easy to learn and understand
enter, interactive learning
What an awesome video idea! I love the geology incorporation, and the video idea in and of itself, even outside of the geology is just extremely fun- together, they form an absolute banger of a video
i hope you got to use this as part of an actual assignment. you know one of those ones where they ask, "hey. try to apply our very specific type of science to real life." I definitely had those as filler assignments in my fluid dynamics labs
the way you found them was really COOL, it's always nICE when something you've learned can be applied, there's probably SNOW other way to do this that fast
Get out
@@ocelotmadness6287 I mean... he COLD... but what if he doesn't want to? After all, both you and ICY what he did there, so it's obvious he's doing something right.
The fact the trees become snow when you sprayed under them with the clentaminator is interesting
Shouldnt they turn into cactus when sprayed with the yellow clentaminator?
That would be neat, *tall* cactus :v
@@marinho.rx.dre1200 palm trees would be better
@@marinho.rx.dre1200 it's about what acorns turn into when exposed to the block
I came here for Terraria. I left with a much greater knowledge on geology
So the things they teach in school ARE useful after all...
For finding a real dirt block in terraria, yeah
i admire how you can keep making this type of videos and it still being amazing/interesting to watch every time you post!
“Now it’s time to look for hay in a needlestack”-
Wand of sparking after drinking a red potion
Ahh yes the most practical use for a geology major,
Finding the least dirty block in a terraria world
I genuinely learned some basics on geophysics, and did a bit of research on the topic afterwards! That is great! You had me genuinely interested on how everything worked!
Thanks for the geology lesson! I don't know much of anything about the subject, but you presented this in a really easy to understand way.
Honestly, I'm starting to realize overtime that you'd probably make for a really good teacher.
This was amazing! So cool to see you use your major to solve a problem in Terraria! this was super fun and interesting and i can't believe i just basically sat through a 10 min geology lecture and was actually fully engaged
Nice video Wand! I'd like to see more of this type of thing! Keep up the good work!
the most original creator even outside of terraria
The Dirtiest Block is slowly taking over the channel, and I’m here for it
This is actually so cool. As someone who's always liked sharing the stuff I learn in my courses (but no one ever cares) I love watching this video
This was really interesting, and showcasing these methods in a more understandable context like Terraria surely could help people grasp the idea more easily!
Fantastic video!
This is so interesting I love that you were able to apply your major to this. And thank you for making it so educational and easy to understand
hahahah this is perfect I hope you hand this in to your lecturer XD they would surely appreciate. I sure did and I know nothing of geology, so this was really cool!!
this was pretty interesting, i like that you applied these things to a game!
keep up the great content :D
I very sincerely appreciate you sharing your passion for your craft (in this case, geology) with us, and the smart application of real world thinking. Keep it up my guy!
These videos are my favorite type of videos using real world techniques in a video game makes the subject easy to understand and just really fun to watch. have a good one
That’s awesome you were able to apply your major to something that you love. It’s a great feeling when I think about how a game could be coded when I notice an interesting bug, as a computer science major.
that was really fun to watch, I would love to see more real life things your studying applied to terraria
This was a rather smart video by using real life analytical strategies to determine the difference between dirt and the dirtiest dirt and how we can spot it. Well done.
really cool to see u making a vid incorporating ur passion for geology
Amazing video, also good luck with your studies!
Awesome video! I didn't say this on the last one, but I was able to find three dirtiest blocks in a celebrationmk10 world just by using a DCU. They were in the same region.
seeing you apply your major to terraria in such a effective way is so satisfying and cool. This is like thesis levels of applications.
I love this one! Really fun to watch people talk about their respective fields and especially when they apply it to video games! Part of why I miss the old style of Game Theory...
This has to be possibly the most random concept for a terraria video I've ever watched that was actually based off of some sound logic and comparison to the real world. Really clever and unique for sure!
This is the most I have ever learned about geophysics and it’s from a Terraria video. This is amazing
The whole time I was watching this I couldn’t help but think how epic this would be to turn in for an assignment of some sort.
This was a really fun video! I’d genuinely be interested in another video that involves your geology major and a video game. ^-^
this video gave me a great idea for a series you can try. Terraria, but none of your items can stack
I’m really glad I payed more attention to this third year geophysics lesson over my third year sport science lectures
This is a really neat idea!
Map makers that want to block progression very strictly could use The Dirtiest Blocks to allow the player to dig with a shovel to access new areas, without letting them use the blocks in any other way, provided you can’t actually place down this pet object.
I never knew Wand Of Sparking was a geologist! I graduated with a geology degree a year ago, and wasn't sure what I'd use it for, but now I know I'll always be able to find the dirtiest dirt!
Great video, love that you use bowser’s inside story music for background music. Incredibly nostalgic
One of my favorite YT things is when they are doing a challenge and they go, “so I’m in college/have a degree in *subject* which can weirdly be applied to this game thing”
Sounds like youre really interested in what youre studying, we love to hear it
Way to turn an interesting idea into an even more interesting one. Great video!
This was actually really cool. Not only did I learn how to find the dirtiest block in terraria but I got a geophysics lesson as well.
Mans just used their major to help find video game block. Respect.
This is the sneakiest and best way to teach your audience about geophysics in an interesting way lmao
"...Or Geotechnical problem" well technically this counts?
Honestly didn't expect a short Geophysics lesson here. I enjoyed the logic to plan this out! Liked the idea of finding it without mining as few blocks as possible.
Glad you are putting your major to good use
I am astonished by the amount of good content you can create about dirt. Truly a genius
"You usually don't get to just destroy the entire world when you're searching for something with geophysics." well that's quite the statement out of context.
started a new world the other day when the update came out and like within 10 min found “The dirtiest block” and just put in in a chest and found out a couple days later that it’s super rare so that’s pretty cool
This -lecture- Terraria video was very fun!
Using a distinctive property of something to difference between it and noice is used in every science, good vid
"Your final project can be anything as long as it pertains to class material"
This was such an interesting and intellectual use of geophysics! Nice!
"Non-invasive tests" sayth wand of sparking, as he entirely converts the natural environment into frozen wasteland.
your teachers would be so proud watching this
And once every dirt block is the dirtiest, none of them will be
Now that makes a whole lot of sense now why you was so interested in dirt, since i was not major in it, all i remember doing is trying to form dirt rings in class to physically examine properties of different soils, and sifting rocks and soil, and looking at different colored soil and trying to tell it apart, was fun
Actually i see why you had so much fun with a dirt block
You really just game theoryed us unironically. This is pretty good
quite possibly the world's first genuine example of someone applying what they learned in college to the real world
I feel like a night vision potion would help with the small light the terraformer gives off. Plus, you could look through the map later and see if you see a single white pixel
That was very informative and I honestly enjoyed every minute of this video ! came for Terraria, stayed for Geo Physic.
No honestly, this might be relevant for me eventually since I am currently learning Archaeology.
I started a graduation in Geophysics this year and the last place i expected to see what i saw in class was here, in a terraria video... But i'm glad of this, that was a really good explanation and a cool example of application "in real life" haha
Excellent video, I learned a lot
Everybody gangsta 'til Canadien starts talking about geology.
Looking for hay in a needle stack? That would be so painful.
Is this just a presentation WOS needed for his class and decided to do in the form of a yt video? Truly a genius here
I very much appreciate the blending of real life science and videogames lol
Mine and yours music taste for videos is incredibly similar. I love it
I thoroughly enjoyed this lecture, I enjoyed your Ted talk
This honeastly is amazing that your able to use smth in real life, to be able to teach smth in a game
I loved this video!! It made my brain happy :)
this is a really cool video, i come back to watch it sometimes
As somebody who gained a real interest in Geology after taking a college geology course I'm very glad to see you using these principles in your game video!
This video is so fucken cool. As a huge science nerd, content like this is what I live for
wow this was one of the coolest terraria videos ive ever seen! real world science demonstrated ingame
Wand of Sparking really likes the Dirtiest Block I guess! 3 videos about it in a row.
As silly as this is, I really did enjoy learning about geofysics! and it being in a terraria video makes it even more engaging :)
This man's full of diplomas I can assure you
I had no freaking clue you were a geology major! Nice to know.
cant believe this whole video is just a project for your major
I absolutely love it when you're studying something and you realize it could apply to something else you're working on, even if it' stupid haha.
This is definitely one of your most interesting videos
I've actually learned something that might be useful for me today, thank you canadien
"You're probably wondering how that could possibly apply to Terraria."
Me: "I am, in fact, wondering that."
this was the nerdiest thing i've ever seen, and i love it. what a clever video idea! thank you, professor! :)
“We added a block called the dirtiest block, should be fun to find”
Rock ner- I mean geologists : *My time has come*
