I love waking up Saturday morning for "Slot 'Carffee' Time with Marty." Thanks for getting our weekend started out in the right direction. Plus it is so much better than dealing with a skunked Bernedoodle.....last night. Yay me!
@@twolinesslotcars Yes, it is normally squirrels and the occasional raccoon at night.....but not last night. It is my fault for not checking things out before opening the back door. Lesson learned.
That’s an awesome solution Garth! I used stickers like you described, and they’d only last a few weeks before curling up. Painting the arrows is genius and being acrylic, can be washed off in the future. I tried colored LEDs in the slot. Looked awesome, but was not worth the time and wiring.
Great idea !! Garth / Marty .. I would suggest making a stencil, a one sided arrow, how to some plastic of some sort go around, paint the one color, clean the sensor off flip it over and paint the next color next to it sure would be all that taping
I don’t know what that says? Between auto correct and speech to text I am in a world of hurt. Its a good thing you speak different languages Marty !!! 😂
I really like the stripes. It brings me back to the old race days on wooden tracks. However, I would use the arrows. They look great and add the directional feature. Nice video!
The arrows are a nice simple fix I do like what you did originally but to make it look less busy would to black out the white centre lines .I painted out my centre lines and it looks so much cleaner
Now if the arrows were a bit bigger you could then add track segment numbers either inside them or just before and after them, so you know where the person exiting is during race rotations
I really like the idea of the colored arrows and might add to my new layout. I’m thinking card stock stencils might make the process more efficient and uniform. I’m not good a free handing.
Not a fan of the arrows. I like the wood track look with double painted lane identifiers, nothing easier for marshalling (and easy to do with the line painting tool Butch used, of course I don't have to do the work, so... easy for me 😁). I agree the white lines got to go to complete the look. Just have fun, Fun, FUN, it's your track! And it's really about the racing (and legally drinking and driving of course😜). 😎
Sorry for late comment, but how were you able to convert the 2 lane into a 4 lane experience?? Does this require a separate terminal track with four required lanes. Please feel free to let me know as I’m very knew to this hobby but am loving every learning curve I’ve come across
Looks nice Marty. Will certainly help keep the lane separation running 4 lanes easily, and adds character to the track the way you painted it.
Thanks.. just a simple way to mark direction and lanes.. stickers would have been way easier 😂

Chris.. no way 😂 our year old Sheepadoodle only finds squirrels and raccoons in town.. good luck with that.. now for coffee..

I like it! The arrow part will really be a nice addition when marshaling in panic mode!
😂😂 right

I like how it turned out.. very easy to see and looks cool.
Good stuff Marty and Garth, between all of us there are decades of knowledge to be shared and make things easier for everybody!
Thanks Darrell! It is what I really enjoy about the hobby!
That’s a simple yet effective way of doing it 👍👍👍👍
I thought so too.. we will see how I like it when I am done 😂
Great tip Marty thank you 👍👍👍
No problem 👍
That’s a great idea Marty. Looks great too. I did dots with the lane number next it on my track.
I like the dots too
great tip thanks Gath / Marty❤
Glad you liked it!
Looks good man, the mix of lines and arrows is actually a good thing i think. Adds character like you mentioned and breaks up patterns. Good job!
Thanks Joseph! I think so too!
That looks really good. Garth gave everyone a good idea for 4 lane tracks.
If you don’t want to paint the entire track.. the curves are the tricky ones..
Looks Good. Great Idea.
Thanks!
It looks great and don’t doubt yourself because I have always looked to you as a place of knowledge
Cheers mate
Thanks!! I appreciate that!
The arrows are a great idea
Thanks Richard!

The arrows look great! I think it looks better than the lines!
Thanks Joe!
Happy Saturday. Interesting.....stuff..
Enjoy some coffee Dafingers!
@twolinesslotcars yes, have some....have fun also...
Very interesting.
Yet to be seen if I actually like it 😂
Nice!
Thanks!
MARTY took good advice i like the Arrows . Its your track do it with what works best for you. Have a great weekend!
Thanks, you too!

I agree! I have bought the black paint and will be doing that soon!

Great idea!!!
Simple idea Marty looks good
Thanks 👍
Definitely saves time, but I like the painted lines.
I don’t hate them for sure..
I like it and Garth had the right idea…not too much paint!
Thanks Lindsey!
@@twolinesslotcars I like your progression in the slot car world! You are doing a great job online with your broadcasting!
That is actually a brilliant idea!! 👌🏻🔥🔥🔥
Thanks Pete!
Whatever is the most functional, go with that. Actually, a combination of arrows and lines looks fine.
It’s growing on me..
Great content as always
Appreciate it!

Thomas.. yes.. stencil is a great idea!
Nice feature !!!!! If you change direction you just wipe them off with alcohol.
Yes, should be fairly easy!
Not a fan of the arrows.

Fair enough..
You can count me in for the group who like this idea . Clean, simple and effective 👍
Awesome! Thank you!
Looks good.. nice work 🤜
Thanks 👍
great idea, nobody really wants their track to look like a candy store with all those lines :)
It is difficult to paint inside the slot.. and the painting was getting really busy.. we will see if it holds up.
I only have less than 1% of candy cane borders on my track for that reason. It is way to busy for me.
The boarders do become a lot visually.

Yes, Carrera makes a multilane extension track piece that plugs into the start finish line..
I think it's whatever you prefer Marty.
We will see in the end Greg 😂
Looks good but why is distinguishing lanes necessary if you're racing digital?
I can race both digital and analog. 👍
hit the track with a latex based matte house paint u will like it
Give some more grip?
yes
@@twolinesslotcars
Meh I painted mine fully. You didn’t have to, funny now I read your comment about it. Now it makes sense.. 😂😂
😂😂😂
Maybe you could of made a stencil for it
I thought of that… after the fact😂😂
First view haha!
Legend!
