And yes, Forgotten Friendship and Sunset's Backstage Pass are awesome, and I wish people who won't watch EqG on principle would at least give those a chance.
I think people assume Equestria Girls is just an animated version of one of Disney's low budget tween high school sitcoms. Mainly cause that's what I thought the show (if we can call it that since it's a few shorter animated movies and a few specials) would be when I first heard of it. The fact there is almost always some sort of supernatural demonic menace to overcome was definitely not advertised, basically at all ! In this regard, Equestria Girls actually has a higher rate of non slice of life, action related content then the main series, who only ever did this sort of thing for a season finale, and even then not every single time. Also yes, Sunset is the best part about this sub-franchise, if only because, unlike the other girls, who are mostly just copies of characters in G4 who already aren't that complicated, Sunset has to go through an actual journey of self improvement and redemption. Forgotten Friendship hits super hard in that regard and I only wish Wallflower didn't get off so easily with essentially violating people's minds on a daily basis.

It's extremely cool to see a relatively new fan have so much dedication to the franchise and express it through high quality pony videos. I've been jonesing on Gen 4 for ten years but today was the first time I ever heard the True True Friend/Winter Wrap Up Mash Up (which was excellent, so thank you). Super happy that in the 2020's there's still passionate, new-blooded talent adding to the pile of fandom I've been entrenched in for so long.
when i was a kid i actually thought the equestria girls california girls parody was a fanmade thing with a really good pinkie impression, turns out it was a real commercial, and its not the only time they did that either there's one that's a parody of the fresh prince theme song rewritten to be about the princess of friendship and sung by andrea libman as pinkie
Dude. This song 8:50 was stuck in my head for YEARS and I've tried to look for it, thinking it came from Equestria Girls but to no avail. I eventually accepted that it didn't exist and that I made it up in my head. I was so surprised to actually hear it. Thank you.
Your intense number-crunching here reminds me of something I did recently...the G4 villain Queen Chrysalis is the longest-lasting villain of the entire franchise. She first appeared in the season 2 finale on April 21st, 2012 and appeared again and again all the way up to the series finale on October 12th, 2019...that's seven years, five months, 22 days (2731) days. And she was a villain to the very end.
In my opinion, I would recommend The Princess Promenade if anyone was curious about G3. It has a pretty good story about what it entails to be a princess, something "every little girl dreams about".

It was only recently that I found one piece of media that you missed for the Generation 4 category: Much like G3 with its Biggest Tea Party Ever performance, G4 has had a bunch of live shows. These include: Multiple performances of their first live show, My Little Pony Live/Meet and Greet, going from 2011 to 2013 Misclleanous live shows in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, etc. ranging from revising of the original performance to concerts with cosplay and character suits Many recordings of them exist online

all i know about any pre-gen 4 mlp is mintys christmas special, which i believe is actually free in full here on youtube. it... isnt very exciting or interesting, but i remember seeing it as a kid. mostly i just remember the scene where the candy cane falls

People hate on a Equestria Girls simply on the concept that it was made to sell fashion dolls/toys, but forget that was the main show's original purpose. EQ genuinely isn't that bad, the 1st movie is decent, though not great, but the future movies and short series are actually really good. And if I remember correctly, they were planning on making a full equestria girls series, but ended up ditching the idea.
I don't know if this really count for the list, but there were 4 songs made for the openings of the Japanese dub of the 2 first seasons of the show. Mirai Start by Suzuko Mimori, Magical dai dai boken by Nanamorichu gorakubu, Yumemiru! Shinjiru! Mirai Kanete! by Suzuko Mimori and Lucky Girl by Silent Siren. The openings mostly consist on clips of the show but there is some editing that makes the opening sequences worth the watch, the songs also have full versions and you can easily find both the opening and full songs in RUclips. There are also 2 endings, Kataomoi no Tou Age by HKT48 and Step by Step by Suzu , the songs are good but have barely anything to do with the show's premise and the ending visual is not really much, credits and a little part where clips of the show play.

I remember a old MLP movie about a gaint slime monster that was released and attacked pony ville, I don't know if this was the 1986 movie or not since you didn't say anything about the plot, but non of the scenes looked familiar. The slime monster even made a cameo as Discord's plus one to the Grand Galloping Gala. I know It came out in 1993 at least
I really don’t want to say this, and it might not even count, but to promote season 7 Pinkie Pie did a cover of the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, The Fresh Princess of Friendship. While it was a commercial, it had original, though parody, lyrics and completely unique animation. This seems to be a similar case to the California Gurls/Equestria Girls parody. Really good video though.

My brother & I binged watched all of gen 1 during the first year of the pandemic. We also watched all of the equestia girls shorts & films. We started watching gen 4 ( my second time his first ) & are currently on series 4. I also grew up watching all of the gen 3 movies.

Though I'm glad G4 didn't pull a Simpsons, I can say I'm still searching for a series to fill that void.

@@theautisticrebel6064 Well, it's definitely the best girl's show IMHO, and though I haven't thought far enough to choose an undisputed favourite show of all time, I can honestly say I've never obsessed over one like I did with FiM and EQG and all their spinoff media. Though I'm glad G4 didn't pull a Simpsons, I can say I'm still searching for a series to fill that void.

I im my little pony biggest fan ever im never ever lost a single episode even with the gen 5 and gen 4 i feel more see the contec and (gee sir you miss the comics) i was suprised because my little pony friendship is magic was in 2010 i was born in that year yay.... a twins but i like the gen 5 the music is can't get of from my head trust me im hear it until 9 or 11 times (and mostly i like make your mark song and sweetes time of the year)
