Thanks man! We are pretty excited about this build for sure. We are probably going to take it out for a revenge trip down that dang Two Rivers Park trail, or just go ahead and run the test track for a new time.
Another great video for my entertainment, thanks guys Sub note, when fitting a tyre, I always light up the MAXXIS branding with the tyre valve. It's all in the small details. Keep up with the budget builds
New tires were a wise decision! Maxxis tires hold up well to heavy use. Rockbros has good quality accessories. I have my Trek Verve 3 set up with their rear rack bag for longer trips. I can carry extra water, snacks, inner tubes, tools and hoodie without pulling the pocket paniers out. Nice way to round out your build!
Loved your videos! New subscriber here in the PH🤙 Wanted to suggest you go with a DHF in the front and the Minion at the back. Grip for the front and faster rolling tire at the back 😉

Gotcha, that may be next!! LOL Now the Ardor I can see him looking in the mirror and saying “Mmmmm… I look good. I mean really good. Hey everyone! Come and see how good I look!!!" LOL!!!! Thanks El Capitan

Great video again 👍 bike looking great I use 780 bars makes for a nice ride for me being 6 ft 1 on a large frame got some vittoria tyers coming in the post hope they are okay your videos have helped me out a lot thank you very much keep up the good work 👍
I definitely agree with going with tires, fixing flats mid ride sucks, the Ardor is looking awesome, guys! My son (he's 19, and engaged. She has 2 kits, 4 and 6, and we're pooling to get them their first bikes) has expressed interest in starting to ride again, I'm steering him towards the Ardor (the Aggressor Pro is a little outta his budget for now). Anyways, great video (as always), happy weekend! 😁✌
Hey brother, glad to hear of people waiting to get into riding again:) The Ardor is a great platform, but a few $$ cheaper and there is the Comp as well?? Maybe save a little $:) Thanks for the view and the comments as always brother!! Good luck and see ya next week!!

Hey guys love your channel. I got the bucklos fork because of your review. Anyway I know you guys are on a budget and are deciding on a drop post or tires to be on budget. To save on cost, you should consider a KS EXAForm MTB dropper post (Speed Up). The price is about half the cost of regular remote dropper post. The catch is, it's a manual hand lever under the seat. It's a simple install with no cable routing. That way you should have enough budget for tires. Just a thought. Keep up the great work! Both of you!
Yep that kind of wtb tire gets easy punctures. Im trying out the chaoyang rock wolf righ now. Budget enduro tires, although they only come in 2.35 in asia. They could have made 2.4's instead. I like the knobs on them, like maxxis dhf. They hook well and seem to take the punishment of sharp rocks and stuff. Cant afford the maxxis tires. Check em pics out in google. U might like em. 😊
I LOL'd so hard seeing that blown out tire on the ardor, tubes hanging out like INNARDS!! same thing happened on my schwinn taff comp!! Those tires are haunted!
I vote Tires, the dropper would be nice but it's going to be hard to do another time trail with tires blowing out all the time. Thanks for the mention!
I agree so many ppl chase that 780-800 bars but they dont take into account that your arms might be short lol and those tires are ehhhh at best like ya'll said they are meant for gravel/light trail
Wached a dude exp.. that a almost perfect pushup pos.. is a god bar length. Not thested it out yet but a us rider so he coud not be bsing pepps to sell produckts right??
for brake testing, trail features did a video reviewing different way to increase power from mechanical, to different pads, hydraulics and rotor size. you should check it out it's quite informative and entertaining. i think tires is critical right now. dropper can be for a bonus in the future if you can :D and DHF front FTW
We will check it brother, thank you. Its always interesting to hear what non professionals have to say!! LOL As for the dropper.....rally wanted it!! HA HA We will al find out Friday what it is:) Thanks Sim Dude
My last build had a budget. I built it with the gearing I wanted, and groupset. I used a budget seatpost, and skipped the dropper for the first season. At the beginning of this season I upgraded to a dropper. I understand the budget ceiling for your show, but I personally wouldn't operate like that. LOL. Sometimes the upgrades have to wait a year or two. You might have to raise your debt ceiling.... or something like that.
Gotcha man, the one thing we hate more than going over budget is having a channel and going over budget!! LOL But its all good man, once we are dun, then the Ardor will be getting the DROPPER!!! Thanks Patches
keep in mind it might not just be the tyres, it can be the rims, or both resulting in the tyres blowing off, also you might be using too low pressures. but any decent rim and tyre combo should not cause this.
Normann?
I agree to this dude. Think u run to low air pre.. on it if it is the rim u must be f... s..t up hard. But then woud go back to air p... caus they coud not f...up a rim that bad unless it is us made😅
The problem is getting The Tick with his O.C.D. to actually run two different tires. When we reviewed the DHF we paired it with the Icon+ I believe and we ran it on the front and then ran it on the back since some like to use them on the back as well. I can't recall if he preferred it as a front or back, but the DHF is great on either front or back for people that ride in some nasty stuff. I think he is good with running the two Minion SS for now though. Thanks man👍
😢 I’m in a glass case of emotion….Ron’s done! The GT and Ardor are the legendary Wolftick builds! Interested to see if Stig and Ron Burgandy can beat the record setting lap time! Damn fat fingers had me almost type Rob Burgandy again! 😂
HA HA!! The Ardor is DUN!!! Now maybe get your wish granted with a little time trial!?!?!?!?! So happy there was not a typo again:) Would of blamed it on the SCOTCH I am sure!! HA HA Later Kevin and see ya Next Week!
Ah dang I guess this bike is out of the question for me I'd probably be a bit too tall lol if I got one I might go a little more bonkers with some of the upgrades on it. I definitely think the 9speed groupset is worth it though
Not sure if you have a set or wtb trail bosses but I love mine, the riddlers are not for that bike, they are a lightweight tire meant for a gravel bike, I would recommend the trail bosses, probably close to a year I’ve had them on and 3 flats running tubes riding 2-3 times a week
Did you not like the tires that we put on? We are going to try it with the Minion SS and then we might switch to the DHF in the front(if it will fit). Those Riddlers aren't fit for gravel either as far as we are concerned😆. Thanks man👍
Dropper probably since in a few months tires will run out so run a dropper first and then get tires when the stock compass wears out. Same with the pro wheel square taper cranks
Great video. Hopefully the tires will fix your flat problem. Although I agree with Wolfman go with Acolyte and have more money for other stuff. What's the difference in 8 or 9 speed, is it higher tooth than 46 on Acolyte or lower than 12 like Acolyte? Take the Wake bars and cut them down. I will say from a "scientific" standpoint go easy on cutting those they are a 1 to 1.3mm thicker than my Funn bars and my 50/50 bars. If you cut them and f'm up your not out much. Cut my daughters down to 680mm and she loves them. If you still want dropper post maybe you could find one with lever under seat they seem to be very budget.
Thanks brother, the build is DUN!! LOL Now the difference the Acolyte is a 12-46T and the advent is a 11-42T 9spd ! Now we have some bars hangin up we may use...... Now from a "scientific" standpoint I F*** S*** up all the time!! And hope a swap em is an easier job LOL. I think a 7660 will be better or even a 740...Now the dropper we got is gonna surprise you! Def a Drunken Ebay!!! See ya on the Patreon Brian, thank you so much for the double support!!
Buy guys, currently got continental mounting king 2.2’s on my xc, looking to change what budget friendly tyres “daps” do you suggest please 🙏🏽.👍🏼🇺🇸🏴

Hmmmm......Possibly a Bucklos setup?? I hear the rear hub engagement is like the wheelset we put on the Ascension, very engagement happy:) Here is an affiliate link brother:) amzn.to/3jAjon0
Love the videos y'all keep doing what y'all doing but just going to say that downhill casing tires are going to add so much rotational weight to that bike
Enjoying the videos, look forward to mail time. I also signed up for my own buy me a coffee as iam an artist and thought that could helps so thanks for putting me onto them.
LOL DAMN NEWBIES! HA HA So glad you get my humor!! Rubber will be burning TUESDAY!! TEST TRACK BABY!! Wont be able to reply...sorry to reply so late, internet is all jacked up!!
Got to your channel looking for the GT Aggressor at first, really good videos for the low budget mind community. May I suggest you rebuild the rear wheels instead of replacing the set?.. I switched my rear wheel cause the original came with a frewheel (GT Aggressor Comp 2018), after almost 2 years I grew bold and decided to rebuild the rear wheel with a decent hub, felt so much better. Plus I think you could get a nice video with lots of views, and reduce waste =)
Well thank you for saying that David, we have a great community of non bike snobs and people who love a bargain and love to see us guinea pig it! Would not mind a rebuild of a hub, I would just need to sharpen up on it...That and what does a rebuild kit go for?? What can I find a setup for? It is confusing, to me aleast, I assume just buying a $80 wheel and calling it a day??
Go for the tires, the Ron the Diva Burgundy bike is almost unrideable with those Riddler's on it. You can deal with no dropper post but flat tires every ride is going to blow through your 1k budget when you factor in all the tube costs.
Absolutely agree man, it was no fun fixing flats EVERYTIME!! Complete bummer dude, just wait till Friday when we do mailtime, new dropper is sick! Later mountain man/sloth/sasquatch!
CHeap but good decent prats I would have: if on a 29er bike, I would get Shimano Deore M6100SGS takes up to 51T. I have it on an expensive high-end bike, I went for cheap rd, cus it makes sense, no having to replace as a pricy part if I destroy it, and it works well, and you don't really have to have the lightest, you might want to to improve rear suspension performance or to make the bike lighter for a race , but really that's not something I need. the cassette makes the biggest weight difference on a drivetrain. I have mine set up with 50T Garbaruk but that's the that's a high-end expensive cassette, but have the Deore cassette too, and got another M6100SGS rd on my old xc bike, which I will eventually swap to something else. it shifts great, but the cassette is heavy, but it has nice smooth shifting but has plastic spacers, which are easy to snap if you are brutal, I did on purpose, but I had a lot of spares from older XT cassettes, which I intended to put on anyway. Microshift is not a commonly sold brand in Norway. But Garbaruk was a cassette I wanted to try, so I did, despite having to order it directly from them and being pricy. But I am impressed with the performance, I've not bent any teeth. But the Deore M5100 cassette I've only had a few rides on, but did not bend anything on it.
Try sram shifts so much faster then shimano. Just got the axs and that shit woud blow your mind 🤯 as a shimano slave. Bro is on a shimano 11 i got sram axs 12 instant shift his takes a long time to shift and the grinding cogs o.m.f
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS I think Deore is a valid option no matter the budget. But the Deore cranks I am skeptic about, as I've seen that s guy has stripped the threads so pedal fell off I suspect it might be due to wrong material being used I don't know what is used as shimano keeps that a secret. So in theory they can use what ever they please without anyone knowing. But I am not surprised I haf the same issue with m552 cranks, I doubt it is user error, tha takes some serious torque, this just cant happen. When putting on pedals. For some reason it did not happen on the square taper cranks I had, despite me landing with the Acera crank with the pedal on a stair step when jumping a slope beside eit on a shool yard. So probably stronger aluminium used in this that one.
Aww guys, thank you so much for the kind words, you made me all emotional. But...... I don't drink that much!!!! 😂😂😂😂 That Ardours come such a long way with a relatively small budget, you've done really for what you've spent. Good choice with tyres, getting flats is a major way to ruin a ride. Such a shame you have to buy a complete bike, if mongoose sold just a frame, imagine the potential within that budget! Stay safe gents 👍🍻😎🇬🇧 CHEERS🍺🍺😂😂
@Dan Boyes- thank you for everything Dan. Now first step is admitting!😉😉🤥🤣🤣😜 but really man, thank you. Now the Ardor is gonna hit the test track Tuesday and we shall see how Ron does!! Cheers Dan, see ya on Patreon💪💪💪
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS 😂😂😂, maybe I'm in denial 😂😂😂 Patreons been great so far, loving it. No need to thank me, all I do is watch and laugh at/with you, you guys do all the hard work 🍺😎
With this massive inflation that we are all experiencing and in non-availability of almost everything, I would add another $150 to your build budget and toss in a dropper post. I resisted dropper posts for years. "I'm not racing, I can just get off off the bike and adjust the seat." A dropper was the first upgrade on my Axum, like day one. My dropper experience was like having sex for the first time. Unincinerated goats were not involved, in either case.
Gotcha and man, really wanted to install the DROPPER!!! We will see what it is come FRIDAY! MAILTIME BABY! Also got a open end wrench set for ya!! Now regarding the "first time" LOL!!!! Are you saying it did not last long then it was over, or overrated?? :P
So, the SS tire up front? You may experience washing out around loose or loamy corners. And when Grandma calls about Survivor, you talk about Survivor!!!
Hahaha she loves her Survivor. We tested those tires a while back on the front and back, and they actually grip pretty good on all the trails we ride. The harder you push those tires down into the corner the better they grip. We are probably going to see if the 2.8 DHF will fit on the front since it is about half a pound lighter.
I have learned cheap grips are not worth it. I have a bucket of them. Now only ODI or Spank for me. They are only about 10 bucks more and it is 100 percent worth it. Again not worth it to skimp on grips.
Well it looks like the old intro isn't coming back 😭😭😭 I would Never spend money on a dropper post at all... When I ride I don't got time to be playing with my seat... Thank God my bike doesn't have or came with one.. P.s. I'm still waiting for your buddy to let you borrow his GT pantera with the downhill forks so you guys can do a review on it lol
Hey brother! Now If we are ever around eachother you will ride one of our bikes with a dropper and you will see what the fuss is all about!! LOL ITS AMAZING!! Now regarding the Pantera, I would love that too;) But really man, I have not ridden for enjoyment and or with a buddy in quite a long time!! Need to def get some in...And when I do, PANTERA here I come!!
Definitely add tires and a dropper. I would think that replacing the tires would cost almost nothing unless the replacement is more expensive. Replacing a $35 dollar tire with another $35 tire would be zero cost. Dropper post for you is a must given the trains you ride.
Agree man, for now since the tires and seat fulfill the budget, we gotts to do that but....man I really wanted the dropper!! LOL Oh well we will all see it next WEEK!! Thank you again for helping us out so much Lebron
@RockMumbles yes DH casing and never had a flat with them. Jeremiah don't want to miss match the tires and I think he should run the DHF in the front, but he don't listen🤦😆.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS I've been testing various grip positions along my bars to simulate different bar lengths. I feel anything over 740 fatigues my trapz faster. Around 740 its less trapz with more lat recruitment. 720 seems to be where I can get a really good lat recruitment. I think ideally 740s with a 13 or 14 degree back sweep would fit me perfectly. But nobody makes that bar at a reasonable price point. And sadly there's no cheap and easy way to test back sweeps. This is me mostly just nitpicking the ergonomics while I'm home injured again lol.
We might not be able to answer comments too much this week. We will try to do the best we can, please be patient. Thanks y'all👍🥰.

I LOL'd so hard seeing that blown out tire on the ardor, tubes hanging out like INNARDS!! same thing happened on my schwinn taff comp!! Those tires are haunted!
HA HA Now there is a WOLFTICKISM I am familiar with!! LOL The Tires SUCK!!!!!!
I vote Tires, the dropper would be nice but it's going to be hard to do another time trail with tires blowing out all the time. Thanks for the mention!
He is to short to make the dropper a option. If u blow 2 in one ride u know u got a cheep ass wallmart!! Go big and dont go home with a flat or 2
HA HA YES!!! Glad you see t that way too:) Not a problem man, thanks for being here:)
Vittoria tires or Continental tires! A must try!
Vittoria DONE!! LOVE EM, they are on the COMPZERKER!!
I run 750 and 760mm bars. I ride a mix of everything...xc, tech and DH.
I think 760's are gonna be great. The 780's seem a little laggy in the turns:/
For sure man, gotta look at the 760s or 40s!!
Good stuff.. Ya'll ever try the mtb tires you can get at walmart? Thanks for sharing!
Actually we have not....Thats not a bad idea! Thanks brother
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Can't wait! Thanks as always!
thinking this bike might be to small for my 99cm inseam... awesome stuff guys
It just may be.....It is wonderful for my tiny a$$!! LOL Thank you ROy-sorry to reply so late, internet is all jacked up!!
for brake testing, trail features did a video reviewing different way to increase power from mechanical, to different pads, hydraulics and rotor size. you should check it out it's quite informative and entertaining. i think tires is critical right now. dropper can be for a bonus in the future if you can :D and DHF front FTW
We will check it brother, thank you. Its always interesting to hear what non professionals have to say!! LOL As for the dropper.....rally wanted it!! HA HA We will al find out Friday what it is:) Thanks Sim Dude
Gentlemen, the whole video I just wanted to say "What's in the bag ,dad?" I know that was silly but hey...Keep 'em coming!
HA HA Man we are a silly crew and you KNOW THAT!! LOL Much Love and glad you enjoyed it Michael, see you next week man!
Dam that's a sweet ride!!!
THANK YOU!! You should ride her!
And we are always newbies!
ABSOLUTELY!! LOL
But then woud go back to air p... caus they coud not f...up a rim that bad unless it is us made😅
Gotcha, hope the Maxxis fix the problem:)
@@turnoverace6796 Jeg er Norsk. I am Norwegian. 🇳🇴
yo the F in DHF stands for front, maxxis suggest it in combo setups like the SS or DHR on rear
If they dont give a sise option at wallmart i woud complain that s.... is just not right or american.
@Budget_MTB-Man you ma be too tall yes, but I love it with my short legs!! LOL
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS yeah dude I'm 5'11" and still growing so maybe a tad tall 🤣🤣
Rock solid baby…..does every company just have a “crap line” wth 😆😆
🤣Glad you liked it man! We are not the best with our nomenclature😜🤣😆.
Thanks man👍
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS oh I as talking about th riddlers I like the tires you put on
Dropper probably since in a few months tires will run out so run a dropper first and then get tires when the stock compass wears out. Same with the pro wheel square taper cranks
Fee ya man, the tires atleast need to be rideable LOL, so they were a little more important but boy did I want a DROPPER first!! :)
I plan on buying them rocknros I’m upgrading two bikes. And parts are needed and I watching videos on budget things. Gathering ideas
For sure man, they are winnners!
I have one.. what is the zice for the dropper? Please
27.2mm for an Ardor
Buy guys, currently got continental mounting king 2.2’s on my xc, looking to change what budget friendly tyres “daps” do you suggest please 🙏🏽.👍🏼🇺🇸🏴
Hey brother, look into the Deliums, budget and feel great! But we have a review coming out on them soon!!!
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS thanks both, had a slightly drunken buy, and picked up black jacks , will try and send a pic off my bike when they are on thankyou 👍🏼🇺🇸🏴
I have an alum comp... Was thinkin about this wheelset... If I can spend a little more money. What would ya'll recommend?
Hmmmm......Possibly a Bucklos setup?? I hear the rear hub engagement is like the wheelset we put on the Ascension, very engagement happy:) Here is an affiliate link brother:) amzn.to/3jAjon0
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Appreciate it!
Talking about bar width, I'm 6.2 with long reach and hate the feel of 780 bars, 740 every time. I find 780s slower and more clumsy for fast riding.
Understand man, I feel ya. I love 780's because there is so much stability, but I am pretty sure we will switch these to a 740 or a 760...
Love the videos y'all keep doing what y'all doing but just going to say that downhill casing tires are going to add so much rotational weight to that bike
Thanks Robert, and you are right. Hopefully I dont feel a difference, may look at switching things up a little but too. Minion DHF and an Ikon.
Enjoying the videos, look forward to mail time. I also signed up for my own buy me a coffee as iam an artist and thought that could helps so thanks for putting me onto them.
Yes sir, we have a mailtime coming up next FRIDAY!! Good luck on the coffee page and see ya TUESDAY!
Stage 10: strip the paint to bare aluminum and install a retro sticker kit
PATREON??? HA HA HA! Love the Stage #10
Send It!! Wanna see how she goes with the new rubber. Friggin newbies. 😆🤣
LOL DAMN NEWBIES! HA HA So glad you get my humor!! Rubber will be burning TUESDAY!! TEST TRACK BABY!! Wont be able to reply...sorry to reply so late, internet is all jacked up!!
great vid
Thanks Rhys
That ardos is looking sweet, too bad it was too small for me
Man you would love it!! Too bad is right:( Thanks MTB ALEX!
I think he might be infringing on my H???? Thing, but, ya know, its not copywrited!
HA HA OH HE TOTALLY IS!!!
CHeap but good decent prats I would have:
if on a 29er bike, I would get Shimano Deore M6100SGS takes up to 51T.
Oooohh man, that sounds like a dream BUILD!! Not axactly budget but what a build...Now why not a 27.5?
All of sudden he’s a pro lol
DUDE! You know it, and SCIANTIFIC!!!! LOL
Aww guys, thank you so much for the kind words, you made me all emotional.
But...... I don't drink that much!!!! 😂😂😂😂
That Ardours come such a long way with a relatively small budget, you've done really for what you've spent.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS 😂😂😂, maybe I'm in denial 😂😂😂
Patreons been great so far, loving it.
No need to thank me, all I do is watch and laugh at/with you, you guys do all the hard work 🍺😎
Those Riddler tires are more of a cross country tire. Need tires with a better side wall!
Man to be honest, I don't think they are suited for cross country and possibly not even gravel😆.
Why not both??? You guys always find the deals!! Lol but if only one tires tubeless
Thanks man! We are always looking for deals. It's just not in the budget to do both, so tires are far more important.
Tires first!!
Haha exactly what I kept telling him. He finally started to agree after he had several flats with those horrible tires.
@@WOLFTICKVIDEOS Yup, tires are essential, you only need droppers some of the time, tires you need all the time!
I would say dropper 🤙
Man cant really ride far with flats!! HA HA
I saw that monster Sigma (Bigma) 50-600 in that back seat.
Haha good eye! It's the 150-600 Contemporary, so you were close.👍
Such a funny vid. ya don't have any janky tools left er body sent ya pro sh&^/. Awesome!
HA HA Totally man! I feel so professional now!! LOL Thanks Doc! Just what the doctor ordered!!!
The rims are not to narrow!
LOL!!
I have learned cheap grips are not worth it. I have a bucket of them. Now only ODI or Spank for me. They are only about 10 bucks more and it is 100 percent worth it. Again not worth it to skimp on grips.
When you have a budget you make it work.
Well it looks like the old intro isn't coming back 😭😭😭
I would Never spend money on a dropper post at all...
Well guess u put your donut paws on the rear brake pads then! In the last video
Dang it no EXO on the maxxis. Those need to be EXO at least or DD or EXO+. That explains the good deal...
I think they are DH casing Minion SS ... great rear tire
We have never had a flat with the Minion SS, so hopefully that continues.
@RockMumbles yes DH casing and never had a flat with them. Jeremiah don't want to miss match the tires and I think he should run the DHF in the front, but he don't listen🤦😆.
740mm bars crew :) actually I've been floating the idea of going down to 720 or 730. I'm feeling thats my Goldilocks zone.
NO!! Man you dont want a 720! That is nutts, LOL Maybe a 740 but you may just tip over!! HA HA
