"Double Trouble" Is a reference to heroin and cocaine. He was way into the drugs in the early years and cleaned up in the later part.
Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jeff Healey “Look At Little Sister”. SRV is a legend worldwide , and Jeff is a legend here in Canada. He was blind , and plays the guitar in a way you’ve probably never seen. RIP to both greats.

To me, Stevie Ray's greatest performance was at the 1985 show in Passaic, NJ when he performed "Life Without You". At that gig, SRV actually played the guitar with his teeth at one point. It's off the charts incredible: ruclips.net/video/DQ4REYdCkTw/видео.html

This is Texas Blues. Extra distortion and ridiculous attitude. Stevie was the best of that particular genre. A true stud who was influenced mostly Albert King as a child but grew up in a new scene. I highly recommend his collab with Albert King live. Some of the best blues I've ever heard.

This is TEXAS BLUES, Brother Van! Stevie Ray Vaughan was so praised by B.B. King. They toured much together. I am glad you are getting to experience this stuff. I was into this dude HARD in high school. Also it's Stevie Ray Vaughan and DOUBLE TROUBLE.

Stevie Ray was one of, if not the Greatest Blues guitarist of all time. This man played with pure feeling. He was born to play guitar. R.I.P SRV
Man, I love artists such as these, the music cuts the muster. It grabs you by the soul and makes you listen, kidnaps you and takes you on a feeling drive thru life. AND ALL YOU CAN DO IS SMILE
Saw him live, it was awesome, he'd just cleaned up, 12 steppin, then the crash happened up at Alpine Calley, East Troy WI RIP.

SRV was a blues guy, through and through. He could play rock, funk...really, any style, but blues was his sweet spot. A good early example for Stevie playing something outside of blues is “Let’s Dance” by David Bowie. SRV did the guitars on that tune.
Oh! He could also do surf rock! There’s a great version of the surf classic “Pipeline” done by SRV and Dick Dale.
He played most of the tracks on the Lets Dance album.

I saw Stevie Ray at the Universal Amphitheater in LA when I was 19. Like you, I didn't know what to say. I never met him, but I really miss him.
The whole album Texas Flood is killer. The song he wrote for his wife Lenny damn near brings me to tears every time I hear it and I've been listening for many years now... he could play blues like nobody else. The guitar, the extra heavy strings, and his dropped tuning just makes his music bleed some powerful emotion.
I love watching people see him playing behind his back for the first time. Everyone's jaw drops to the floor.
He is blues all day. Rip SRV! I'm thankful I got to see him a few times growing up before he died. Couldn't go to a better show. He left us way to early

Growing up my father had a collection of his concerts on vhs we would listen/ watch once a week.

Dad's often times pass on good music. I heard so much great music through my dad; ZZ Top, Black Sabbath, SRV, Allman Bros, Skynyrd, Janis and the list goes on...
My mom gave me the Everly Brothers and I'm grateful for them too. Different from dad's music for sure, but very talented in their own right. Besides, it's good to be well rounded when it comes to music. There's just too much good music out there to be snobby and miss out!

One thing that people often overlook are Stevie’s band mates, Tommy Shannon on bass and Chris Layton on drums. As a three piece they were TIGHT, and the two of them could not only keep up with SRV, they also helped fill that incredible sound.

I was listening back in the early in the 1980's and he was killing it. He got me through 2 combat tours in Kuwait and Iraq in the first gulf war. I cried the day he died!!!!! You cant change it, you can't rearrange it. Time is all that we got, so baby lets take it!!!!!!!

Check out his other Jimi covers in addition to Voodoo Child: Little Wing, Third Stone From the Sun, Red House. then SRVs originals like Cold Shot and Couldn't Stand the Weather and Pride and Joy are all amazing. Stevie was 100% blues. Black, white, it don't matter. We're all brothers and sisters, and soul is universal. The playing behind the back bit was fun. Reminds me of Hendrix playing the guitar with he teeth and behind his head. Peace, love, and health to all.

No one played with more soul, difficulty, passion and perfect technicality than SRV. Always do SRV live to get the full experience. Notice he rarely looks at his hands. He and the guitar were one!

I saw Stevie who was opening for Ray Charles at Seattle Festival for $7. Didn't know who SRV was but omg we were sweaty messes after his set! We bought tickets for his next tour but he died in a helicopter crash at age 35. Was devastated. Such a presence and a talent. RIP SRV 💞✌🎸

The El-Mocambo is bar in Toronto by the way. It is famous for having the best bands in just for a jam session. The Rolling Stones performed there back in 1977.
Stevie is BLUES & SOUL, hes a LEGEND. One of the heaviest blues guitar numbers ever played. The band is called double trouble. Saw him play twice and so glad I did before he was killed.

He's a Texas blues artist. It's a mix of rock and blues. But he has some videos where he is extremely bluesy
You can see the soul drops running down his face. I love the way he steps up to the microphone wanting to sing, and his body just won't let him stop playing guitar. Seeing him live wasn't a concert, it was a life experience.
bruh..i had the same reaction when i first heard it. he inspired me to pick up the guitar. when he died..man it killed my world. i was so effed up after that for so long. i still play some of his songs but NEVER to his ability. he still remains a huge figure in my music life. R.I.P Stevie
I was fortunate enough to Stevie Ray Vaughn twice. The last time I saw him was August 18, 1988 at Merriweather Post Pavilion, in Columbia, MD. Two years later on August 28, 1990 he died in a helicopter crash. His performances were a sight to behold.
If you really want to hear Stevie play a “ grown up” song you have to watch and listen to Riviera Paradise, live in Austin ,Texas. It’s a whole different vibe to his playing. It doesn’t have his usual shredding or upbeat music, but it will make you appreciate him at another level with his tone and composition of this song. Just “watch and listen”.
Larry Davis first recorded this song in 1958. It is blues, so was Stevie Ray. The band, Tommy Shannon and Chris Layton, are called Double Trouble.
He plays over his head, with his teeth, and backwards in front of him as well basically the guitar is in front but facing him. Checkout “little sister” I believe from capitol theater in Texas he has an amazing guitar switch after he breaks the string and you can’t even tell just by listening he had to switch guitars
Stevie Ray Vaughan is rock,blue hall of fame. Stevie started playing at 7 year's old turned professional at 12 year's old. He played 13 gage strings other's play 9 to 10 gage. He plays with grit and passion Stevie is the "GOAT" in my opinion the band is called double trouble God bless.

Im glad you did a reaction to this video because you witnessed the best guitar player that ever lived. He picked up where Jimi left off. Whats a trip is that Stevie and the best crooner that ever lived, Luther Vandross spent a lot of time in the beginning of their careers with a dude named David Bowie. God blesses us every 30 years or so with a single person that is heads and shoulders above everybody in their line of work, hence, Stevie Ray, Luther, Michael Jordan, Miles Davis, Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Michael Jackson and list list is short but it goes on. Its just very sad that God usually calls the folks home early, Stevie at 35, Luther at 50, Michael jackson at 50, Miles at 61, etc.

In the ‘80s there was such a thing as Blues-Rock. Heavier than normal blues but still blues. Stevie Ray Vaughan, George Thorogood (Bad To The Bone), Los Lobos etc.
Blues for sure, can rock it out sometimes, but he and his brother Jimmie were blues guys, they did a great album together as well. RIP Stevie, you are missed.

He couldn’t even read music and was self taught. Hung out in bars and venues where all the greats played and learned from them. He played better behind his back than some do in front.
Same, I’ve been playing guitar for over 10 years and I can’t read music at all. I’ve tried so hard to understand tablature but I can’t. I can only learn by ear and teaching myself.
