Option 3! I know you aren’t big on chrome, but chroming this out with some sick bars/risers, chrome 2to1 with air cleaner, and suspension is would be a dope way to spend a couple of grand towards a raffle bike.
Option 3 for sure! I like the idea of shocks and risers for sure. I wanna say pipe too, which would be cool, but honestly, I feel like that might be good to leave up to the winner to do afterwards. And it's one of the easiest mods for most people to change themselves. The Iron Anchor seat is huge! Awesome addition there. Maybe front suspension as the 3rd piece. Or a cam or something. Something that might be difficult for most people to do themselves that's already done.
I think you could focus on some of the more labor-intensive upgrades and leave the easy bolt on upgrades for the new owner. Upgrades like a chain conversion, bars & risers, fork upgrades, or cams are upgrades that many owners may not want to do themselves.
Option 3- you can do bars and risers that don’t require new cables. Tall isn’t always better, then Seat and exhaust would change it up enough to gain some interest.
I literally just bought the same bike! 2017 FXDL and I am slowly modding it! Came with same exhaust FP3 tune Mods I am doing: I’m about to pick up Biltwell 6” risers (hope I can swap the risers and keep stock bar and not have to get cable extensions) let’s see what happens. All new LED lights (makes a difference and you don’t have to break the bank on parts) Crash bar LED light bar Front fairing Burly Brand 13” shocks I will make a few videos and upload them for all to see!
Love the 3rd option and please don’t stop the giveaways it really gives people hope who really wants a Harley and can’t afford it. I would love to see new handlebars and risers plus new pipes and definitely one of your custom seats I think would be awesome.Thank you
As an experienced professional mechanic, your most significant value add to any Dyna would be, in my opinion, is to set the correct geometry of the bike for good handling. I’d install motor mount stabilizers (Sputhe) and beefier top link, do a laser drivetrain allignment, and setup the front/rear suspension (shock height, spring rate, comp/rebound adjustment). Maybe even a cam and dyno tune. There are endless options and different tastes for most other upgrades like bar/risers, exhaust, seat, lights, ect. Any monkey with a wrench can do these relatively easily. 🤟🏼
I got a 2004 Dyna with the 88 I’ve never regretted buying it. I don’t ride it as much as my bagger, but when I want a simple great handling bike ride I take it, never understood the hate for the dyna models.
As someone in mass who also deals with winter I definitely think it's time of year that's hindered this bike selling for sure. I've been looking into getting one of these but can't until I sell off my bike in the spring since I don't have the space. If youre going to raffle it though the pipe and bars should be priority. Bassani or even a Cobra will get the look and performance over those V&H and wont break the bank so you can use the extra money for the controls & new headlight mount. The stock seat isn't that bad. I also think seats are personal opinion, i.e. some would rather a Lepera vs a Saddlemen etc. So I'd look to spend the money on a new air cleaner setup and/or shocks just to get the ass end up a little bit more.
I’m going to say option three and keep it more budget minded. I think a solid set of rear suspension and a nice 2:1 exhaust. Maaaaybe a seat but not necessary. The newer low riders have such interesting risers that are adjustable and a decent enough seat stock that you could do the small two items and make a huge change to the looks already. It already has mags and mods. Everyone is different sizes and shapes so a bar and riser may change even as far as customizing goes. Keep it simple. Rear shocks. A nice pipe. Run it.
Put a Thrashin Supply 2 into 1 and risers, they run all the relocation kits.Do that and if I win it, I'll come down to NY and ride that bad boy back up to Maine in the snow 🤘
Option 3 (budget friendly) 1. Ohlins 772’s 2. Bassani Road Rage 3. Arlen Ness Big Sucker 4. Dual Front and Rear Galfer Rotors (cubiq’s a little less costly, but still bitchin) That’s around $3k. If some dollars remain nicer mirrors and grips. Plus if you throw in your branded seat, laydown license plate, taillight and smoked blinker lenses would be good. I’ve flipped a couple of Dynas in recent years going with these or similar accessories with great success and interest. Good luck!
Just found you👍 Pegs, grips LEDlights, lay down license plate, seat, and shocks. To me, handlebars and exhaust are the most personal things on your motorcycles. But if I had to pick one, I would say do an exhaust. ✌️
@ironanchorcycle why don’t you do a giveaway and let the winner choose the mods? They win the bike and say $3-4k in mods and they get to pick. If they want suspension/handling then do suspension/chassis work. If they want more power then engine mods. But that way whoever wins get exactly what they want. Plus you can make another video of doing the mods to their bike and the reveal/pick up reaction
I had that exact bike and it was highly customized. I did legends piggy back in the rear and also legend in front galfer rotors bassani exhaust saddlemen step up seat. Hardcase performance risers custom dynamics rear all in one light and more
Sawicki short exhaust, 13-13.5 shocks middle tier or lower because most people would never know the difference to top tier. Then try and do a budget handlebar setup with highest hight with stock cables.
I'm more of a performance guy. The first thing I would do is a Zipper cam (I have a 472) an intake manifold (I have S&S) an Arlen Ness Big Sucker in chrome (18-458) that hides under the stock cover. Of course it's just to support the 128" kit and D&D exhaust with a Thundermax tuner. I have a few other mods, wheels, FBI 12" bars, chrome switch covers, Rekluse clutch, DK Custom shocks, Southern Oregon chain tensioner. She's a sleeper lol, still wearing 114 badges.
I like option 3 I’d buy in this time I only have experience on Drag Specialties shocks compared to stock so I can’t help on shocks but a pipe , bars&risers and a killer step up would be great. It appears that you have good taste and the experience that I would be comfortable leaving it all to you
Tc bros make nice bars and risers for a little less than the big names. I’d do brand name budget 14” shocks so there’s money left to do the forks. Stainless two into one pipe whatever brand you can get a good deal on, arleness air cleaner.
You said not to many are thinking about motorcycles this time of year. I’m in Michigan with snow and I can’t stop thinking about motorcycles. Lol Wish I would’ve bought a raffle ticket for that bike but times are tough. Plus I just bought new cams for my bike… What’s up with that late model King you have in the corner?
I dig it all. I just feel like a 2 in 1 exhaust might narrow the market. A lot of people like it but some also prefer the pipes that it already has. I’d probably go with 13” shocks. It would fit the majority of people who could win it. I bought my FXR with 14’s and had to drop it down an inch so my feet could touch. I’m 5’10 and was tip toeing it. Maybe also keeping the parts that were taken off and offering them to the winner as well. Maybe the person who wins it would prefer stock
Wish you would do the giveaways through RUclips and Facebook also I don't have Instagram and would love to get in on some of these giveaways...I like the idea of building this thing and raffling it off.. Letting someone who could never afford a bike that that upgraded have a chance in a lifetime winning a bike like that
Powder Coat Black all of the Chrome. Supertrapp with open end cap and set of Ohlins rear shocks 13.5” ditch the sissy bar. Powder coat the wheels and polish the brake disks.
As much as i would LOVE to c all the very best high end parts as u mention its not the right move financially..as with most of us. We ALL want the best bang for the buck!! I would like to c the RWD shocks, Thrasin bars/ risers, SP concrpts pipe.. and some nicer foot pegs, 1fnger levers, crash bars and sliders. An Arlen Ness Big Sucker. I think your seat is a Great idea...mk it personal for the new owner. Love the videos. 👍
I did lucky Dave’s lucky 13s in 13s for bars. Had an unequal length header 2-1 then did full RWD suspension in 13.5. Suspension height was great but the end of the muffler cone hit the shock bolt and have to switch to a bassani Greg lutzka pipe. Feel the struggle also of selling a bike when it’s cold, was hoping to sell the dyna and find a low rider ST by late winter/spring. Only offers I got where trade for enduros
Put a thrashing OG pipe on it and raffle it. I don’t think that’s a $10K bike here in the mid Atlantic region unless you find the right sucker. Raffle is the safest bet. Let the new owner decide how to customize it. And may throw in a discount on parts the new owner wants to put on. Just a thought.
Bike like that doesn’t need ohlins shocks, get some budget aftermarket shocks, legends makes some lower tier/price point that are fine for the average rider, bassani 2 in1 road rage can be found for like 800$ and thrashin risers and bars…done and they will look sweet. Step up seat is nice but you can let who wins it pic the seat.
SP concepts pipe good price and quality from what I’ve seen from content creators . Stealth pipe also seams to get great reviews . Thrashing supply foot pegs, bungking crash bar plus 13.5 shocks . You should try original garage moto risers they have good quality and pricing , good value . Keep up the great content
Basic ohlins rear shocks. 12.5". I'm 5'5".small air filter. 10" pullback risers. Leave the exhaust alone. Seat. LED headlight. Detachable windshield. LED light bar
Big Al’s or bung king chrome risers with TMF cycles or Lucky Dave’s riser bar. Stealth polished 2 into 1. Throw a t sport repop fairing and bitubo chrome rear shocks. That’s enough to make it rideable for anyone.
What if you look to make a club style bike, with parts from marketplace!? Show how you can build a club style bike cheaper than buying parts? I think this would be cool 😎
I would do do lucky Dave’s lucky 13 bars, Memphis shade road warrior fairing, moons Mc headlight, and either lepera or saddlemen seat. If extra cash is laying around the exhaust.
Please do bars and risers! There's no content on RUclips specific to swapping out this awful integrated riser/visor/headlight mount. I have a '15 lowrider and would benefit from a how-to video.
i think part of the problem is most people can find a dyns with bars shocks and a pipe for just about $3,000 or $4,000 more and know they can offer less and the person will take. also everyone waiting on tax return money. love the bike would love to buy it but theres shipping cost plus will california let me register also you got thedynadude in ny who can finance bike which makes more people willing to buy a bike right now.i think just hold on and try selling later
I hope the thing didn't put you into a bind financially. The bike is of interest to me but yea, winter has me thinking of getting my own things done on bikes I already have. I have too many parts lying on the living room floor. Winter is a time to do things to a bike out of boredom. Acquiring a new bike in the winter is a bit too much for me. Like the bike, live in NH and damn...I better get things done on the bikes I already have. Plus titling, insuring and registering a new acquisition is a fairly expensive thing to do.
#3 Bars, Risers, Shocks! I’d leave Seat, Footpegs, and Crashbar to whoever gets the bike. Maybe they Iike a certain brand or want to color match with paint but anything you choose will be great!
Hate to say it but if you black it out, you've screwed up a very nice ride just as it sits right now. I'd love to have this bike as is. It looks great.
How about a gaw at 15k let the winner pick 5k worth of up grades or more if they wanna put more of their own money in and show that process in videos. That would be cool to watch and how ever won it would be dialed in to exactly what they want 🤷♂️
Naa I say be unique, I've seen the rustybutcher creating some bad dirt bikes out of sportsters. So why not try to be the first or one of the first to create a dirtbike out of a Dyna. Now that would be sick 🔥🔥🔥
Why does everyone want to turn a Dyna into a "club" bike? T bars on risers, tall shocks, mini fairing, etc. They all start looking alike, kinda like black Streetglides. I like it better just stock.
555 cams, dyna jet and target tune, 2-1 exhaust really made a difference.
Option 3! I know you aren’t big on chrome, but chroming this out with some sick bars/risers, chrome 2to1 with air cleaner, and suspension is would be a dope way to spend a couple of grand towards a raffle bike.

I just got a Dyna Street Bob 2017 for 10k It only had 1300 miles stock I love it
I literally just bought the same bike! 2017 FXDL and I am slowly modding it!
Came with same exhaust
FP3 tune
Mods I am doing:

All new LED lights (makes a difference and you don’t have to break the bank on parts)
Crash bar

Burly Brand 13” shocks

I like the look of the pipes. Are they not a good quality set? Since you mentioned changing them.

Bars and risers, step up. I’m a new rider and bought C50 to learn on. That Dyna is the bike I decided I want when I upgrade
Inexpensive, but always looks good and easy to install is flush mounted gas cap and fuel gauge.
Rear shocks from a V Rod, stock seat 2014 Fatbob, Biltwell Tyson XL Pullbacks, cables from a FXDX, stock clutch cable. Budget build
🤔😎🤟🎸
Raffle er off!! I vote Thrashin AR exhaust, 14" Bitubos & and an aftermarket FXRT fairing

I like option 3
I’d buy in this time

I love all the Dynas
Seat, sp concepts lanesplitter pipe, 14 inch shocks progressive 490’s, original garage risers and thrashin mid bend bars.
You said not to many are thinking about motorcycles this time of year. I’m in Michigan with snow and I can’t stop thinking about motorcycles. Lol

Option 3 - Saddlemen step up, Legends suspension, and send it
13.5 drag specialties shocks, tbr 2-1 pipe, thrashin supply bars and risers
Look into Fab28 exhausts if you decide to buy a pipe. Good company, just installed one of their pipes on my 06 Dyna Low Rider.
Suspension seat risers 2-1 exhaust cam and dynotune
You may want, to contact Cam (John'sson) from Cycle Fanatix about this bike...

Are these tickets available to off shore countrys
Option 3! Pipe (Fab Kev can pipe), shocks and riser/bars
I run a Sawicki on my 07 FXD and it’s great but if you want to lower the cost, Stealth would be great
SPC Lanesplitter 2-1 pipe...quality and budget friendly.
SP concepts pipe good price and quality from what I’ve seen from content creators . Stealth pipe also seams to get great reviews . Thrashing supply foot pegs, bungking crash bar plus 13.5 shocks . Basic ohlins rear shocks. 12.5". I'm 5'5".small air filter. 10" pullback risers. Leave the exhaust alone. Seat. LED headlight. Detachable windshield. LED light bar
Taller rear shocks, cam chain tensioners
Option 3.. and go “club style” with fairing and risers
2-1 Pipe, step up seat, bars and risers, and progressive 13.5 rear suspension and front springs, probably spend 2500 bucks max doing that
Big Al’s or bung king chrome risers with TMF cycles or Lucky Dave’s riser bar. Stealth polished 2 into 1. Throw a t sport repop fairing and bitubo chrome rear shocks. That’s enough to make it rideable for anyone.
Thrashin risers and bars. Bassani Lutzka pipe, Legends Revo Arc, & step up seat.
I’d totally buy a ticket
What if you look to make a club style bike, with parts from marketplace!? Show how you can build a club style bike cheaper than buying parts? I think this would be cool 😎
Leave it stock…100 @ 100 sounds great. I’m a Dyna and FXR Guy. I’m in for that raffle
I would do do lucky Dave’s lucky 13 bars, Memphis shade road warrior fairing, moons Mc headlight, and either lepera or saddlemen seat. If extra cash is laying around the exhaust.
I’d let the winner put on the shocks and exhaust they like

hardtail it springer front end.
High flow breather, pipes and shocks, possibly 13 inch. new owner could do the rest.
Got a road king with a 103 and rinehart full exhaust for 6500 dude.

What should you do with it? Stupid question, stupid answer: GIVE IT TO ME.
make a stunt dyna
Pipes & pegs as the bars and shocks need to match the rider. As you said you're 6'2" and fitting the bike to you wouldn't fit some shorter
A raffle is not a "give-a-way"
Why does everyone want to turn a Dyna into a "club" bike? T bars on risers, tall shocks, mini fairing, etc. They all start looking alike, kinda like black Streetglides. I like it better just stock.
Raffle it
Sp concepts 2into1
Bassani 2 into 1 chrome or black
eBay budget build. Bagger brembos, used pipes, mix and match bars and risers.
2into 1 solo seat michelin tires. The rest i would handle...
Triple black, no chrome, all motor.
Put in a new set of cams
10s a little high, more like 8 moves
Leave the pipes alone
I could have bought 2023 lowrider s with 1500 miles for 12k you selling it too expensive. Build it and raffle
More Chrome.
Yeah cause you did nothing to it. Just wanted to flip i can buy it without flip if I want. Build it nicely and then raffle it❤
5000$
Rear shocks from a V Rod, stock seat 2014 Fatbob, Biltwell Tyson XL Pullbacks, cables from a FXDX, stock clutch cable. Budget build
