Today @GoWithAli ,@worldnomac ,@LukeDamant and I stayed at the Grand Kandyan Hotel and had a great 3/4 nights there! The staff were exceptional, the hotel was clean and nice and the food was brilliant. One of the best hotels i've stayed at and we paid a very reasonable price.

Raita (yogurt) usually eaten with biryani Or spicy curry because it cuts the masala in it, makes it neutral for stomach and makes stomach digestion good and makes stomach cool from heatness of masala.

Looks like you boys are having an awesome time in Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 The Grand Kandyan is a beautiful hotel. Personally, I love Kandy. I love enjoying and experiencing your holiday vicariously through your videos.
Hope you get to try string hoppers (idi aappa) and hoppers (plain hoppers, egg hoppers, sweet hoppers with honey/jaggery and so many different types of hoppers) soon. You can eat string hoppers with chicken curry, kiri hodi (coconut milk gravy)i, ala hodi (potato curry) and pol sambol (coconut sambol).
You can eat hoppers (aappa) with chicken curry, black pepper pork curry, lunu Miris or katta sambol (both are different types of Sri Lankan chilli paste), seeni sambol (caramelised onion relish). String hoppers and hoppers can be eaten with so many different Sri Lankan curries but the above mentioned authentic Sri Lankan curries and sambols go very well with String hoppers and hoppers.

I highly highly recommend you to try "maqlooba Rice ", " Sri Lankan's tallest burger" and check out "ministry of crabs" when you guys back to Colombo. It will be awesome experience and those foods are Gooood for sure 😋

So when 99.9% of the people around you are wearing a mask and taking precautions to protect their island, what makes it okay for you and your friends who are bouncing from country to country to completely ignore the precautions that the locals are taking?
Don’t forget that they all entered into the country with proper PCR negative tests
@@shrinikagamage5375 so you mean to tell me that everyone wearing a mask there hasn’t tested negative for Covid ever? They’re taking advantage of the kindness of the locals who won’t say anything to them. With a little common sense and situational awareness they’d clearly see that the entire nation is doing everything possible to prevent an outbreak of Covid on the island. You don’t go to someone else’s land and do as you wish. You do as the people are doing.
@@shrinikagamage5375 by the way, I’m in California where I’ve tested negative many times but guess what, our local leaders still have a mask mandate in place. Whether I agree with it or not I still wear the mask because it’s the right thing to do for all of those around me.

Harry great stuff by you and your 3 buddy machan"s too and you 4 guys seem a real great combination when even doing stuff together! A typical real home styles 5 star you are missing in Kandy is called Mahaweli Reach Hotel, belong to one of my school buddies from 40 years ago when we were in college together, its a ancestral home with original 4 bed rooms now a beautiful 5 star with over 130 rooms in beautiful setting by the Mahaweli river and just a a scenic hotel and not a high-rise. check out if you can its called Mahaweli Reach Hotel

Kandy Shrilanka's beauty lies on its land forms, towering mountains....climate and air must be heavenly....what a grand hotel...spacious hall....roomy nooks,....perfect colors....perfect everything.....exquisite wood carvings everywhere in the bedroom ..... picturesque surrounding....wow .... and sumptuous meals...(except for the nasty flies) ... capping up at the gym.... what a treat, Harry....didn't you have it all??? lucky guy.

You went to one of Colombo's best resturants hence the price of the bill., but I am sure you paid much less than what you would have paid in a same star one in London or Paris. There are resturants serving buffet style meals both local and foreign. Go for a local menu for the experience as it unique only to Sri Lanka. Thanks for the video of Colombo today. I spotted the Iceland Residence high raise where my brother lives when he is over from the USA. A normal Sri Lankan meal consists of more one curry, it could be meat or seafood with up to five or more locally grown vegetarian dishes. Brinjal is what is known as aubergine in other countries but the taste is different as there are many varaieties. Hope you have a good holiday with lasting memories. Be safe and well.
