I found DTE on RUclips, got a shed of a builders van caddy, have touran front end, 1.9 PD hybrid turbo, touran mirrors, electric windows insulated carpet lined led roof lights, all from watching these videos, Nathan is a life saver, saved me a lot in labour, even the wife watches the channel now, I don’t know how it happened either 😂😂😂

I put a very similar OEM look one in my T5.1 (it even has the same screen for linking via BT) and you’re absolutely right bud, it’s the amount of Cores and the RAM capacity that folk need to look out for when buying. On all the forums you’ll see folk saying “avoid the chinese stuff” which is daft given virtually everything electronic is made in China! 😂 It’s just that they haven’t been prudent to look out for the memory and capacity is why they’ve had a bad experience. Mine did have a poor mic though so I just wired up a third party £6 mic and that solved the problem. Great stuff! Enjoy Andy!
Hey Lizzy I’m happy with the unit in mine to being the oem look, yep the ram speed and this one is an octocore I think that means 8 processors. Some people do comment saying that seen a similar one for a lot less and we both know it’s not as good. That’s right everything is made in China and I have no problem with that you just need to spend an extra couple of quid to buy the better model instead of click on price lowest first. Thanks bud 👍
Nathan Thank you for the fantastic installation and review video! We’re glad Andy is liking the stereo. Just to confirm on the battery drain issue, did you try unplugging the red and orange power connector to see if this prevented the issue before you cut the loom and installed the ignition live?
Hi @k-techmodules will this unit work in a VW T6? if so will it allow the steering wheel controls to work? Can you also convince Nath from @YTDTETV to come up to Huddersfield to fit it for me? Ah yeh!
The stereo doesn’t support DAB only FM/AM. But when your have CarPlay or android auto, DAB isn’t required as you can use radio apps and music apps instead.
A video on ignition live would be great. There are so many different good and bad options that people suggest for radios and camera etc. Piggy-backing fuse 19 (Transporter) seems to be the a good, if not perfect, option. It does seem very unclear what best practive is, especially if you have multiple requirements such as an Android head unit and a camera that also needs ignition live. I have no idea how my standard radio (T5.1) comes on with the ignition as I don't have ignition live going to the radio...some voodoo magic...
Hi David, with vw’s the stereo power is controlled by the canbus unit and when you fit an aftermarket stereo the canbus doesn’t recognise it so the canbus doesn’t switch it completely off causing a battery drain. Cutting the red wire that’s the switch live and connecting it to a switched live fuse that then turns the stereo off when you pull the key out. Hope that helps

When you refitted the unit you missed a 2 pin plug one was out the loom the other was sticking out the stereo this was the can bus. I did this in mine and when I took it out to add the usb I noticed it and now I see door open and things, test you added the module but you need to do the 2 pin wire too. Ah ya
Did I understand correctly that the colors of the car's own wires match the adapter you connected? Did the adapter come with the player or did you buy it separately?
@@TheAlluFINthe wiring in Andy’s caddy wasn’t the standard loom it had been adapted in the past. Our stereo is plug and play if you have the standard stereo connector.

can anyone shed any light on my 1.6tdi caddy, red oil light flashing constantly. changed oil switch and no luck so i’m leaning more towards oil pump/belt being knackered. has anyone had this issue? van drives faultless and still pulls well! thanks in advance 👍🏼

K-tech purchase off aliexpress and up the price 😂 that will be running fake android version says 12 but will be 10 made to look like 12. Should have gone with a branded unit like Eonon who have full customer support and OTA updates.

@ the unit will fit a t6 but you will require an distill wiring harness to convert the qua lock in your t6 to the older style

I love android headunits, it's just like having an android tablet in the dash. Only downside on them I've found are the amplifiers in them are pony.
