Absolutely love this van, great to see the process, you do make it all look a lot easier then it actually is. Hope you realise the talent and skills that you poses. Great to see. Thank You.
Cracking job Nath, looking good enough for the girls we date. I'd say they are better being a little stiff and will bed in over time. Enjoy the van meet 🙏👍
Kudos to you mate that's one job that I would not tackle. You did a good job. Ever thought of fitting a reverse camera. I saw a transporter the other day but it had the usual barn doors and the camera was fitted just under the vw badge .It looked not too bad.
Can't belive the difference in this van from what it was to now, never seen them dummy windows(or maybe I have and didn't realise) but looks far better than the single window.
that reminded me of me doing mine on my van. I cant tell you how much I was bricking it, knowing if I cut wrong- specially the sliding door- I was looking at an expensive fix. I cut mine out using a nibbler which was brilliant to use. I must admit, i'd not given thought to doing dummy rear windows but I love the look on yours and it deffo makes the bus look way longer. I didnt get my windows from trade glass. I got them from another place and Id rather have the glass locks on yours. On my van I made some fancy blinds but on the siding door one, the glass latch is in the middle of the glass at the leading edge and sticks out three inches and the blinds catch going up and down I have thought about cutting an inch or so of the plastic so the blind slides up and down- though for the price you paid for the front glass, I might just get a single sliding glass panel with the different latch. Loving the build up of the bus. That paintwork is gorgeous. I cant wait to see your conversion. Much respect- Kenny
Turned out very well. I cut off the tip of the adhesive cartridge at a 5 degree angle and smoothed the edges of the cut surface with a lighter. This will give you perfect, triangular beads of glue that stay in place. 5 degrees because you pull the cartridge gun at about that angle. By smoothing the tip you avoid chattering when pulling the adhesive bead. Congratulations on passing the MOT!
I used the exact same windows, even brought them back home on the plane to Australia. Fitted myself, also first time but not as clean as your job. Wrestled with the knock on trim as well. They did leak to start with around the knock on edge but I sealed from the inside and have been perfect since. I like them as super dark and good for privacy.
Hey Bud blimey that’s dedication to take them home on a plane 👍 hopefully my little tips about the trim etc help people as the few vids I wanted it never mentioned them. I like a dark window to 🙏👍
Looking good, with the paint showing through the gap between the glass, some videos show running a strip of black vinyl before installing the glass so you can't see any paint colour, as others have said you needed to leave a small gap at the bottom when running the adhesive round to allow any moisture/condensation build up behind the glass to drain out, It's coming together very well indeed. 👍
Ah yea mine are factory side sliding windows on both sides and leak a lot so I was glad you only put one slider in! Looking forward to the next DTE live 👍
Vans looking mint, nice glass. don't forget to tell your insurance about the windows, its not a commercial vehicle any more so you should get it cheaper now, that's what i told mine for the caddy and the £££ came down 👍
Van is looking great, you should be extremely proud of yourself. Definitely pop some black paint between the windows, just mask up and use a brush. Got to admit I’m belt and braces, so the morning after I fitted my windows I masked up around the windows and ran tiger seal along the top and sides to make sure they weren’t going anywhere and didn’t leak.
Absolutely loving this build mate, even been lucky enough to see it in person. Can't wait for the next video on the interior. 😊 keep up the awesome work, matey 👍 ah yea
Looks great, I always think you shouldn't fully seal around a dummy window, leave a gap at the bottom, so the air pressure can vent when it warms up. You can also drill a hole through the panel behind the glass so it can vent.
Hey bro thank you mate 👍 I wouldn’t know what to feed a lizard or an iguana, I wouldn’t know what spiders like to eat or anything of a similar nature. We just have different skill sets, yours are just as good to 🙏👍
great job on the windows, could tell you were apprehensive about fitting the first one but it looks mint .. the transformation of this van is nothing short of astounding. keep it up. inspirational stuff, im looking at transporters now .....
Windows look superb Nathan, its not a bad thing that they are a bit stiff to open with the kids being in the back and so pleased you put googles on, I could watch you grinding with squinting, are yeah. 👍
The T5 is looking really good Nathan what a journey it has been so far. Can't wait to see what the interior will turn out like! Best of luck mate with it! Aw yeah.
Hey mate thank you 🙏👍 I absolutely love the touran seat to Vw done such a great job designing them. Hopefully you like the next video about the seats in the T5 👍
Another job that I’d thought of doing myself if I built my own next time …I’m not surprised you were apprehensive on the first one given how good the paint looks - but smashed it …without smashing the critical bit. Looks properly good 👍🏻
Epic video mate, happy days on the mot ay dude nd really didn't know they were fake windows at the back mate, looks really epic in the metal so to say lol nd great job with the windows mate nd them colours r perfect dude 100% top work, top job, top man well bloody done mate epic😎
@@Weirdwebbie58when you shut the doors the vacuum pushes the windows out after a few months the lacquer breaks away from the basecoat and they start leaking
Looks really good and coming along nicely. I have seen people leaving a gap in the bonding glue when doing fake windows to allow for heat expansion but not sure how essential it is. Really intrigued with the Touran seats and how they look in the T5 as the money people want for Transporter seats are stupid money and it’s defo the way to go I think
Amazing job! Van looks the nuts fair play. I’ve not tried this yet but my old T5’s previous owner put too much adhesive on the bottom and blocked the drains on the sliding window. It leaked badly so he had to reinstall another window. I doubt that will happen to you though. Perfect job 👍
Watching you hand pumping that sealant gun, I was thinking “I’m sure Foxy has an air powered one”. So annoying when you can’t find the right tool. I spend half my spare time looking for my stuff (often not finding it) to do simple jobs!
Van is looking great mate..supposed to leave an air gap in the middle of the fake windows as they tend to blow with the pressure (hopefully yours will be alright) 👍🏻
Really impressed with the way things are progressing on the van Nathan it is looking like a million dollars👌
Love it, best T5 build series on YT.
Hey Steven thank you mate 👍 super appreciate that 🙏
Another epic mod on this van, cannot believe it’s the same van! Damn you Nath - really making me feel like I have no choice but to buy one 😭
Absolutely love this van, great to see the process, you do make it all look a lot easier then it actually is. Hope you realise the talent and skills that you poses. Great to see. Thank You.
money well spent Nathan that's made it look like a 20k truck mate, nice 👍happy days
Carnt believe how much the windows changed the look of the van brilliant job mate 😊😊
Nice job Nathan can not believe it’s the same van you picked up with all those problems looking forward to the next video ❤
Great job again Nathan👍 looking very classy with the tints windows in👌 . Roll on Friday ❤

Cracking job once again ❤what a fantastic finish 👍👍👏👏

Windows look awesome mate...the dummy glass finishes it off...exellent content and tutorial as always🫡
looks pucka mate realy like the full glass looks well on there 👌👌👌👌
It’s looking slick with those windows in , very nice 👍
Even though I’m on my second transporter, and all the work is finished, I’m still loving the videos on this van! 😎
Hey Ian thank you mate 👍🙏

Hey bud a few people have said the same I’ll drill a hole on the metal inside 👍 thank you
Loving the content on the t5! Glad it’s passed Mot can get her out finally! ah yeah!
Hey Alex thank you mate and yes I’ve been driving it around for a few days and will talk about it next video 👍

Hey Clive thank you mate, I do like a window in a maxi 👍👍
Bloody stunning van mate

Looks Brilliant 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The T5 is looking awesome, can’t wait to see what you do with the seats.
Hey Conrad thank you mate 👍 have almost finished the seats so that will be the next video 👍
You leave a gap on the top and bottom on the rear fake window because glass and metal expand at different rates in heat and can shatter
Never knew that but will drill a hole on the inside thanks bud 👍
Looks amazing really sets it off well done top job
I used to be a windscreen fitter & you’ve done a real professional job,nice work,top video 👍🏻
So did I and you never bond on new paint especially lacquer
You can bond to new paint as long as it’s been baked at a high enough temperature
@@Weirdwebbie58when you shut the doors the vacuum pushes the windows out after a few months the lacquer breaks away from the basecoat and they start leaking

Thank you mate 👍
Van looks mint mate top job
Thanks Lee 👍👍
Looks fantastic, some people carpet line the inside before installing the trim as it hides the edge
God job though 😊
Hey Neil thank you 👍I did think about that but wernt ready for the inside bits 👍
Good job fella👌🏻
Nice job Nathan it looks fantastic, if you're not going to pop top it a halo roof would look great when you get on with the inside 👌👍👍
Hey Tim thank you mate 👍 I’ve seen a few halo roofs and I do really like them so I think your right 👍👍
Nice job done Nathan

Ah yeah looking mint bro ❤

Thanks Darren appreciate that mate I’m super happy with it 🙏👍
Great video

Awesome, great job mate, im inspired
