Nick is an amazing guy, he knows his product line and is proud of his products. He listens to his customers and is always working on making improvements to his Class Bs.
Very interested in the Nova but read about electrical issues with the Firefly. Asked dealer rep to open the battery compartment and was taken back by unorganized tangle of wires, doesn't speak well of the quality culture of the company.
Mostly because the wires are individually run. This is pretty much how all big volume RV builders do it. Pleasureway does a good job of wiring, but they also cost more.
Yes, basically. Some people say you can take lithium batteries down pretty low, but I still try to not go below 20% on my lithium batteries. The real numbers to go by is the voltage levels. I don’t go below 12.05 volts on AGM and 12.9 volts on lithium. The lithium batteries keep a pretty flat voltage until the end and then it drops fast. The lithium batteries off more time for the same AH battery size.
Can anyone help me understand at 12:06 why he choose "not" to use expandable foam for B class vans? As far as I know, the only way to get proper insulation is from foam and that the fibers may actually become a hazard to the structure and hazard given the wide spectrum of climates the van has to endure.
From what I understand, foam can create off gases and trap moisture. The Rockwool product is not affected by moisture. And if you have a problem it’s easier to work with batt insulation as opposed to pretty much a permanent insulation installation. But of course, new ways of doing things come out constantly.
Absolutely fantastic! Thanks to you, Deb and of course Nick for creating this video. This gives me great comfort knowing that we have a manufacturer that is so customer focused. I'm glad that we chose Coachmen. We love our 2021 22D and now I even feel more confidence that we made the right decision when we bought it. George in FL.
Never ever would have thought coachman until this tour. The battery system especially was of interest to me. The insulation as compared to other brands was also superior. I will be interested in seeing the 2022.
Gard, Deb, and Nick -- others have said "fabulous" and "fantastic" so I will add "OUTSTANDING" plant tour!! Our 2021 Coachmen Beyond CEB Li3 AWD is supposed to come off the production line on 11/6 -- and all your videos confirm more than ever that we made a brilliant choice (for our needs.) Loved hearing that Coachmen now offers a service bay for Class B's. Thank you very much for delivering this tour -- demonstrating the quality and attention to detail in every nook and cranny of the Coachmen Beyond et al. mj
This is fabulous!! It’s so great to see this and confirm why Coachmen B fan is the one for me!! Nick is awesome! Gard and Deb, thanks so much for taking the time to do this. Fascinating! 👍
What a GREAT video, Guard! Coachmen is absolutely the best B product out there, and Nick Recchio is a treasure. There aren’t many manufacturers that are as committed to quality, and there are none who are more committed to customer satisfaction. Thank you!
Thank you Gard for this Walkthu tour and build out of Coachmen RV's. Im sure you're Happy with the Beyond, Looking forward to see more of the L!3 in dealerships. Nobody has a channel like yours for the Beyond.
Dear Gard and Deb, Great video! I watched your first one with Nick, and now this one. The second has so much details that I watched it multiple times and finally ordered the 2021 Nova RB. Your video is the most critical factor in making that decision. Thank you again for the great content. 💯
Gard, as someone mentioned earlier, yours is the only channel that has decent content on the Coachmen Beyond and now the Nova. I also love your short videos too, especially the “how to” ones that are helpful to new RV owners. Looking forward to seeing more such content! 😎
Really like the quality in the insulation, windows, proper tank placement, sumo springs etc. Would like Coachman even more if they would do a floorplan like the Solis PX. Love the Solis but not up to the quality of the Coachman
Looking for as much storage space as possible so on the Promaster Nova rear bath is there any storage space available under the twin beds if you don't order the lithium battery set-up and have the propane gas set-up for the kitchen range? Very impressive build.
Fantastic video Nick - thank you for showing us the fine details which are so important! QUESTION- I live in Washington State - where am I going to find Coachmen service? We are in Spokane-
Please do a video(beyond li3)on how long you can run the roof ac on a full charge lithium batteries. A dealer in Florida says you can run for 8 hours? I’m close to buying A beyond li3 to use for urban boondock camping and never plugging in to shore power. Would greatly appreciate a real world test since you have the exact model that I want to purchase. Thanks.
It's hard to say how long it will last because of the variables. For example if you park in the shade the AC doesn't have to work as hard. Putting up the window sunscreens makes a difference. The outside temperature makes a huge difference on my 12 volt AC, my AC pulls 60 to 110 amps an hour. I don't like to fully deplete my battery so I try to use only 500 AH. So at a 100 amps an hour that would be 5 hours if it ran continuously. So one could say 5 to maybe 9 hours is possible.
I'm close to getting a 2021 Beyond 22D Li EB AWD - and have been looking. I just wanted to mention to some shoppers I have run VINS on some I see for sale and one was built on a 2019 chassis and the other a 2020. If chassis year is important to someone they may want to run the VIN. Not sure when they will build on the 2021 but for me it's worth waiting. Thanks so much for your video's. I esp appreciated the one on using all the monitor's; very helpful.
Couple questions ~what is your cargo capacity (yellow sticker inside passengers door) And is the outside glass on the bathroom doors smooth or textured? Thanks in advance.
Did Nick indicate that the Nova was going to have other floor plans besides the RB? I’m not crazy about the rear bath design but I like much of the other qualities of the Nova. Especially like quality of the insulation and cabinetry.
Great video! It’s very helpful to see how well built these coaches are. I am interested in a Nova with the “C” floor plan. Do you know when these might be available?
There was one at the Tampa RV Super Show and one at the Ocala RV Show a couple of weeks ago. Here is a video I made of it. ruclips.net/video/IhmP_GUh3I8/видео.html
I am really liking the Coachman Beyond 22C Li3. And the more I see the latest version of Ford Transit chassis the more I like that too. But can you ask Nick Recchio how soon before the Coachman Beyond 22C gets Ford's Active Drive Assist "Lane Keeping" for Level 2 self-driving (with hands off the wheel)?? I plan on buying a new RV within the next 12 months, but any new RV HAS to have Level 2 for long trips (or the ability to add OpenPilot). I've had OpenPilot in my '17 Chevy Volt (via OpenPilot from comma.ai) for well over two years. And once you have it you can't go back to a vehicle without it. Especially for long cross country trips!! If the Beyond 22C already had that I might be ordering a Beyond right now. :D Thanks for the videos, Jeff
Hi Gard & Deb, thanks for creating this fantastic video tour of the Coachmen factory. As a new Coachmen Nova owner, and if you wouldn’t mind, I would like to share this video with the Coachmen Nova Owners Group Facebook page as the factory tour covers much of the Nova build process. Thanks in advance!
Nice video Gard. I was wondering whether Coachmen has any plans to do a 20' class B for the Beyond or Galleria to compete with Pleasureway's Ontour 2.0 and Ascent models. I have narrowed my selection to a 20 footer (Beyond will not make it into my driveway and I want the compact van for its usability as a regular around town vehicle), but there are none available with a high capacity Li3 type system (no generator) and a secondary alternator for charging. Coachmen could kill it if they offered a shorter coach option with AWD (Transit) or 4WD (Sprinter). Storyteller Overland is the only one that has this and their layout is not really geared to what I'm looking for. The Airstream Interstate 19 is almost there with a shorty 4x4 (but on a Benz - not my 1st choice), but their lithium is similar to Pleasureway. Any input? Maybe see what Nick Recchia thinks. Thanks again for the great content! Gerry
I wish I knew, a 20 foot Beyond like the PleasureWay Ontour 2.0 would be nice. I don't sit comfortably in the Ram chassis, I am 6'3" and 300 pounds, but the Nova is shorter. Have you looked into it?
@@CampingCoastie I've had bad experiences with Dodge/Ram in the past and their chassis doesn't offer AWD or 4x4 at all. Fingers crossed that the industry will see a trend with new buyers preferring to start with a 20 footer and start offering them with AWD or 4x4. I was really surprised when Pleasureway said they would offer AWD in the Ontour then suddenly reversed course only a couple of months later. In a response to me, Grant Walters even seemed to indicate they would never consider a second alternator or larger lithium system and went so far as to suggest I look at Coachmen if that was my concern. An article today in the Wall Street Journal discusses the rise in Class B vans for newbies - perhaps the trend will lead to an expansion of the product line for Coachmen!! Thanks again.
I want a beyond Li3 so badly......but Im really torn that i have to have the water tank outside....I live in the northeast and there will be plaenty of opportunity to have it freeze.....if there was only a way to have best of both worlds....
Outstanding Video and tour. I like M.Jim have a 2021 Coachman Beyond Li3 on order. In a earlier video Nic said “ they were going to put the 4 hose inlets on the rear, drive side in an enclosure. Do you know if the 2021’s will have that? Do you know of any more upgrades for the 2021 Beyond? Thanks.
Water tanks outside with heaters are working fine on the volta system with winnebago do I'm sure they do the same here. I've seen real world-20 testing and water didn't freeze.
According to the brochure the hitch has a 500 pound tongue capacity. I believe it is a 5,000 pound rated hitch. The Transit comes with the Ford HD Towing package. But the actual towing capacity depends on the cargo already loaded into the van.
Nick is fab! Prior to purchase Nick took time to reassure me about my fears the rig would blow up having propane onboard. (Lol) What are the specifics on the new screen door for the Galleria. My 2018 factory screen door on my Q is VERY persnickety. Is it possible to have factory ship to me & if so how much?
Neat video! Love it! Are you the only one coachmen Beyond owner? I can't stand the videos showing Beyonds by dealers, I prefer the owners showing off their rigs.
Many owners, but not many bloggers I guess. I know what you mean about all the dealer videos, they are just trying to sell their product. I tell people about MY RV, what I like about it as well as what I don't. I have to say, with my Beyond there are only a couple of things I don't like. And they are far from being real issues, just my preferences. Like the bathroom light is not dimmable.
ive seen this same gentleman in multiple coachmen videos. hes super knowledgeable and knows these vans. lol
