It is just amazing. Some 10 plus years ago you started out on a used boat in the pacific, started a RUclips channel, and created a crazy a following of people living vicariously through you. Now and new boat, and we all get to come along. Thank you
One thing I still have problems wrapping my head around, is that you guys are making this happen on a learning-by-doing basis. Even with all the support you're getting, this is wickedly courageous, specially considering that this boat will be used for expiditions to remote places, rather than just A to B tripping. And when this is done, you can call yourselves boatbuilders. Thats Ssssmoking 😎 !!!
@@davidhawkins9782 Having build a house I know it also takes balls, and persistance, and resourcefullness, and the ability to bounce back after set backs, and stress resistance. You can overcome a lot of that by learning it first, like Leo did before he took on Tally Ho.
@@davidhawkins9782 You have to be. Most people who plan to perfection, end up never building. I've seen it happen. At the bottom line it's still a leap of faith.
Hey you two, I would install pipes in the tanks to purify the diesel oil if it's contaminated. Install 2 pieces of 1/2" pipe where you can attach a pump and filter the oil for water and dirt. Fantastic project 😊
@@planet9379 no worries, it's a good suggestion! Just was providing more info. Especially good to have if you're buying fuel from sketchy sources in various places around the globe that may have varying degrees of quality control

I am really looking forward to seeing the stuff built in, right now I can't even imagine it at all anything fitting into those small spaces, much less a washer or a shower! Boots are magical.
It brings me so much joy to see this progress moving in the right direction. Watching Brian’s eyes light up as he shares his plans and envisions each detail on this new vessel is truly special. This journey has been an incredible experience to witness-the skill and expertise of those Australian boat builders is remarkable. ✨⛵✨

Love it. Love the fact that you actually made sure your daughter has a room of her own. Unlike la vagi.a l. It's awesome that you are actually helping build It. Been watching since the beginning keep up the great work.
@@keno926 Sorry, I was referring to Odd Life, I am sure both boats will be good but Delos appears to me to be superior, welding and fabrication has been my livelihood for 35 years.

The boat looks great. It’s really starting to take shape. We can see the excitement when you are explaining the layout. I think I suggested before that you look at putting in recessed areas to mount your fire extinguishers. I use to service fire extinguishers and seen so many boats with the extinguishers mounted on a bulkhead and they were sticking out into the walkway or just didn’t look good where they were mounted.

It's amazing to have followed your journey from the beginning. You are incredible people! Excited for Brady and Blue and their journey also. Really wish we were somewhere else during the election. It's kind of a scary time here. Be glad you are there. Excited to see how fast your build comes along.
Gosh it seems like yesterday you started talking about this project and already you’ve come this far. Amazing! This thing is going to be awesome! So exciting!
Good daddy! Mommy wanted a "bigger house in the Hamptons", and you made her one! What a beautiful design! As a welder, I totally agree with this construction. lol!
And now the work begins. The flip went well, so now the greatest amount of work to go. Have fun, as we all are very excited for you. Thanks Captain Dan.
Thanks for the tour, it is not just a boat what you build, it is an entire home, but still with a concept of a tiny home and build very well, for lasting a lifetime, with the advantages to be where ever you want and the ocean and the world will be the property for your family, you guys rock you know what you want and on top you give us as your followers good entertainment and you pass on a lot of valuable knowledge, keep on going, hello from the Chilcotin Sunrise Chalet
Congrats! It looks like a space ship. Isn't it so nice to see the bare bones of your home, and you know where everything is behind the walls. No mysteries when you pull everything apart to get to that one little wire that will pop loose mid-passage. You'll know where all your pipes will be too.
I love sailing and building homesteads, and in its own way, SV Delos and others are homesteads with a lot of the same things like generators, solar, DC and AC systems, etc.
lived in a small apartment most of my adult life. Wife and I built a house a couple years ago. Every weekend we were there, just gawking and checkin out the progress... and I'll never forget the feeling of walking through after it was framed. I imagine its similar to how you guys feel post-flip imagining how it will be when she's finished. Congrats! Loving this build series.
Thanks a inside look of a boat you do not see often . She looks fast even unfinished . I bet blowing past other boats will be fun to watch . Plus getting out of the way of bad weather much safer ;)
Wow, it's going to be a lot of living area. And your owners side is going to be huge. No lacking of space. It's going to be exciting following the build. Until next video cheers
I noted you used the "A" word, access. As a retired marine electrician of almost 30 years, and involved in the building of many custom yachts, I had to remind other crafts especially Carpenters of the need for access!
The excitement level for you guys must be off the chart! Hell, I'M excited! I didn't think I could hang for all the construction videos, yet here I am, and I CANNOT wait for the epic first sail!
That hull is already amazing, the number of welds, it is a huge undertaking. Hope you can do everything very thoroughly to protect the hull from corrosion. I would be including paint in the diesel tanks, as they can gather water through condensation, that prompts me to think about the diesel and water tanks proximity to sub freezing sea water when in cold climates. It typically freezes at -1c, it could be lower if slightly 'iced in'.
I think it's great having Delos 2.0 being built right here in Brisbane , a little bit of Australia , well actually a lot , ha ha ha, gets to travel with you wherever you go, I can't wait to see her finished, probably not as much as you guys lol, great work
Might want to paint the Diesel Cells too because there are many ways to get saltwater into the diesel and it will go to the lowest point and eat away from the inside. Also the diesel bugs that can grow and feed on diesel, their by-products are acidic, and settle between the fuel and the aluminum. Another thing to consider is freshwater will be present from condensation. Any/all of these could cause corrsion that you will never see until a pinhole appears on the outside of your hull and diesel starts leaking, trust me its bad enough in a fuell cell, much worse if that cell is your hull. Please reserch I am not an expert just have some (bad) experience with that.
Sssooo Exciting!! I can sleep anywhere you have a nook or cranny! I'll be one of your most valuable crew one day! Take care there. Much love and blessings to Ya'all and your channel/ efforts. 🌞⛵🌴
Nice seeing you guys putting in the time with the build. Putting in the blood, sweat, and hopefully no tears. Not only does the name of the boat builder gives one confidence with the addition of hands-on experience that makes it invaluable. This building chapter is enjoying to watch. The only problem is it hurts my brain quickly converting to SAE and I'm an aluminum TIG guy.
Good to see such a great design forming into a structure , you found a proud builder and looking at the professionalism going into the build you,ll be graced with a beautiful strong cat . In contrast to the guys who had a Rapido built and the dreadful way they are being treated by the company after major structural issues were found in a new boat , you are really fortunate .
SV Delos on a Wednesday? What a treat!
