Britain’s biggest serial killer was a doctor, Dr Harold Shipman. Unsuspected for many years, Dr. Shipman selected his victims from his patient list. There were clues, but who in the community would believe that a doctor would kill his patients? Suspected of killing over 350 people during his career, it was clumsy attempts at forging the will of one of his victims in his own favor that alerted the police and led to his arrest. Found guilty at his trial and jailed for life, Dr. Shipman committed suicide never accepting his guilt.

When I was 5 I had the best doctor he was my main doctor(idk what the proper term is) until 2 years ago when I turned 26 I found out he died when I showed up for a yearly check up and I was led into another office I literally cried in the office when they told me he passed away from a couple of strokes, he was always upbeat happy and the nicest man on earth close to Mr.Rodgers he came to my graduation he came by to say happy birthday on a couple of my birthdays as a kid he was my role model and dare I say hero, I wish he was here today as I would've taken my 2 kids to get checked up by him I genuinely miss him

They should have gone to the police instead of talking to Shipman. They are responsible really to look for things like this from hospitals nursing homes treatment facilities etcetera they're not just a service they are part of the legal medical program. We were always warned to document all injuries to our patients in the nursing home including any small bruising tears Etc of their skin no matter what because if the patient goes to a funeral home and the funeral home feels that the patient has been abused they can turn us in and cause the patients death to be investigated even if it was a natural death you could go to jail for abuse if you didn't document everything.

Because socialized medicine stinks and everything functions under a “don’t rock the boat,” “least path of resistance,” “lowest common denominator.”
And under British healthcare you have to be willing to do abortion to even be allowed to be a doctor.
That means you are automatically introduced into an attitude of the cheapening of life.

And now to something completely different: Hair-Splittery:P
As you state, "professional" describes the education and training that an individual has undergone. There is nothing mentioned about ethics or morality. So your second sentence, your conclusion is a fallacy (or at least something disconnected). It does not guarantee character or morality nor does it the opposite. Example: "Old 'Bananas' get dark and wrinkled. That does not guarantee their character or morality....."
... except the profession is defined as a profession with a codex. Then it is the opposite what you have said, so exactly a profession WITH moral obligations.
"A professional is a member of a profession or any person who earns their living from a specified professional activity. The term also describes the standards of education and training that prepare members of the profession with the particular knowledge and skills necessary to perform their specific role within that profession. In addition, most professionals are subject to strict codes of conduct, enshrining rigorous ethical and moral obligations. Professional standards of practice and ethics for a particular field are typically agreed upon and maintained through widely recognized professional associations, such as the IEEE. Some definitions of "professional" limit this term to those professions that serve some important aspect of public interest and the general good of society."
Still, the mother of the china box is careful: I'd rather keep it like Greg;)

Killer nurses and doctors are one of the most scariest concepts to me. When you go to a hospital for something mild or serious you are putting your trust in these people and in the case of serious medical problems your life. My doctor and all the specialists I was seen by in Vancouver, Canada gas lighted me. I had a severe nerve compression injury. I couldn’t sit anymore. My perineum and rectum were electrocuted. These doctors knew metal clips from a previous surgery had migrated but they covered this up. One clip was in my rectum and another clip had migrated to my intestines under the neck of my bladder. The clips should have been removed STAT. It’s a long story but after advocating for myself and getting help in a Toronto and an official diagnosis in the US, my GP did not believe that I had a pinched nerve in my sacrum. She did not accept the US specialist’s diagnosis, she ignored his suggested treatment plan and she said my pain specialist had dropped me. I was neglected and left to die in agony from severe sleep deprivation and lack of nerve pain control. I am certain my GP and the doctors she conspired with wanted me to die.

I've listened to several podcasts with killer nurses etc and it always comes down to the hospitals. The hospitals want to avoid any responsibility for the actions of who they hire, so the quietly fire the person. The records of the persons actions rarely follow him or her to their next position and the cycle continues. The hospital finds out what happened, doesn't file charges or notify the police, and they do the same thing in their next position until finally it catches up with them through family members or police investigations or something.

I think it's not killing his mother, but killing other women to make that loss bearable.
I know there's no logic, but neither is the petty theft. (could indicate stealing even more than that was stolen from him, regardless of how small it was,in the end or maybe even earlier on that wasn't enough)addiction to pain killers tells me that was the physical manifestation he could not control. (not saying he had control because hes insane)That's what I could theorize,if it's just about killing them for pleasure and having power the small thefts do not make much sense to me,I never seen anyone feel powerful over a small amount of money unless it's when they even have less than that person,I'm pretty sure he had much more than 80 pounds as most people usually have.
I know what addiction does, been addicted for years, dropped that addiction for others and so on,The only thing that has helped me is fear of getting addicted again, physical manifested fear that ironically requires addictive sedatives.Whatever you do,do not give in to the pain, only then you will see it will not go away no matter what.. unless.. death (ironically that's what he used to fight pain)
None of this is truth or evidence,I just believe in irony.

His patients seemed to love him - they felt he was an amazing doctor who cared for them. He was basically grooming them. A lot of his patients were also from a generation where you didn't challenge authority. They believed that doctors weren't capable of behaving like that, especially one who seemed so caring in a small town like that. A lot of them were also very lonely and isolated - they felt like he was being kind to them by visiting their homes. It's a real insight into how older people can end up so isolated and vulnerable like that.

      3. He signed the death certificates and any check at the time would have compared HIS notes with HIS death certificate.

It was fast, but we still had time to be briefed, read the papers, and sign them.

It's not a valid question. Nobody was monitoring the "stats" about deaths. As the program shows it was in the very early days of computers. Most doctors kept written records of which there were no copies and which no-one saw except the doctor.
It was impossible for anyone to be aware of what was happening, even those who raised questions were not sure, not even competent to know and as the person responsible for ALL the relevant information available for review it was impossible to prove, until there was an examination of the body.
It was the "perfect storm" situation.
Without the computer meta data there would have been no way to prove it other than exhuming every one of his patients that had died.
In truth Shipman "caught" himself. If he hadn't computerised his notes and if he hadn't forged that will, no-one would have known to this day......

No I believe that they should be sent to prison to serve hard labor and I mean real hard labor in areas that we need Improvement such as working on chain gangs in repairing the roads infrastructure Etc nothing makes an educated person feel worthless more than the fact that they are now lower than the people they thought they were above you can't have them serve in anything that's around people or they will try to kill them their mind is that way. But feeding them for free for the rest of their lives doesn't make sense to me. Why should I pay for them to eat three Square meals a day get free showers a place to sleep free education etc. after they've murdered killed raped or whatever they've done and we work out here just trying to take care of ourselves and be good people.
There has to be some form of punishment putting them up in a building and saying they can't go outside and play with the rest of us just isn't enough. And most of them the sentences are so light they're not really serving any sentence at all. My friend's brother does so much better in prison than he does on the outside he kind of makes you sick it's like why can't he be that way on the outside? Yet he's not doing anything to pay back what he did. We're simply just paying for him to enjoy himself there being a good person running the prayer meetings!

    • @valiantsfelinesmccarty6678
      @valiantsfelinesmccarty6678 4 года назад +1

@Dav serban Sorry post bit longI Don't mean a gulag system. There's got to be some way they pay their way. There are some people who like my friend's brother prefer to be in prison than out. What he did to people while he was out he never made restitution for.
So what is prison for if they're getting food television free college education Etc. While we work out here trying to earn enough money to feed ourselves and pay the taxes that it takes to take care of them? They say well we're protecting ourselves against them really? When many of them serve barely anything on their sentences & they're released to go do it again & back again & back again?
Now I believe there are a lot of people in prison for white collar & nonviolent crimes that really shouldn't be in prison, They could be surveilled from their homes with 24 hour surveillance video inside with tracking devices installed on their persons. Perhaps they unlike violent offenders could be ordered to work either as volunteers or even paid personnel and low level positions in hospitals nursing home anywhere there is a need for public service cleaning public streets Parks Etc. Lower IQ & youth offenders could be turned around if they had an education or trade but how can we tell who is really going to take the opportunity for a future to Heart and who is just yanking the chain so they can get out? Perhaps if extensive critical extensive psychological exams are created & show the capabilities, truthfulness of answers and believe me the psychologist know how to do those types of tests they may be able to winnow out the ones that just aren't going to straighten out and the ones that really do want a better life.
I know prison life is not easy. It's really not good for the person serving the time or the people who guard them. More often than not it brings out the worst on both sides no matter how much the people might want to do their best. There's too much Contraband that gets in right through the guards as of course there is always someone who will take a cut. Part of it is we don't spend enough money on paying the people who work in our prisons. We are a country that thinks nothing of million-dollar contracts to Sports people playing games children outgrow and entertainers who tell us how we should think and dress and talk but we won't pay our police officers, Corrections officers fire, medical, Librarians teachers enough money to live off of. We don't pay our full-time military personnel enough money to live on. Those that guard our country do so as volunteers unlike many other countries that require it.

I read a book that proposed his enormous conceit was one of the reasons for his killings. If a patient questions, was aggravating etc. they got gone. He fired a receptionist because she forgot to bring him his coffee one morning.

This is what I expect from my doctor.
Him : what are your symptoms ?
    Me : explains symptoms
    Him : makes another appointment
And that's how it's been for over 2 years.
I get nothing to help me sleep
I get nothing for pain relief
I get treated like a drug addict
I get looked at with suspicion
Then I get a call asking me why I havent came in
    Duuuuh, why bother ?

Because doctors protect each other, if they have not killed someone by misdiagnosis, neglect, overworked, deliberately or medicine they know they might need to be covered by a fellow colleagues at some time!...and the police didn't smell the rat until the dead bodies piled up to the point the stench had reached their promotion.

The reason the person is so scary is they are wired differently. You can’t rationalize crazy.

I'm not defending this murderous doc or anything, but I dont find it odd he went for an hours long run in the pouring rain after his mother died.
When I found out about my own mom's death I ran down a nearly empty road until I couldn't run anymore. I then laid down in the road and waited for a car to run me over. I was nearly 15.
People deal with death in odd ways, that's for sure.
Either way, yeah, this is such a horrible story and my sympathy is with all of the families.
He's a horrendous human being and I hope he rots in hell.

What would he have got if he did this to the Queen, Her Husband, or Children and Grandchildren?
Would it be life imprisonment or DEATH, because what's good for her the others should receive the same!

A complaint made and a very superficial enquiry was done initially.
    What shit
If he would not have made other mistake, he would have got away with it.
Funeral director, another GP a taxi driver all of them raised the concerns to police but no one did anything

USA Law, a Physicians takes an oath as soon as graduation which they vow "I Will Do No Harm" Anyone who causes harm such as many sadistic physicians, are in medicine for all the wrong reasons. Power usually.

Not only in US docters take oath to do good and save patiens. Most of the countries do it.
