I was once in a situationship for three very simple reasons
1. I was horny
2. I didn't think she and I had enough in common for us to be in a relationship
3. I didn't think I could do better

@@pyxn420 We just didn't have that much to talk about. Hanging out with her outside of the bedroom was awkward. Also, she never got over her ex and would complain about him a lot, and complain about depression without ever seeking help for it, even after I encouraged her to, which were kind of red flags.

Situationships are complicated. Like a lot of people (I imagine since I've never been in a situationship before), you're emotionally invested in someone, but not as much as you could because of a lot of reasons (notably you still feel a type of way with her). I think you did good by sitting down and having a mature conversation about just ending the whole relationship

All I've ever had was situationships. People who secretly pined after me but always made me feel like I was delusional for liking them as much as I did. Then somehow months/years down the line after I'd gotten over whatever happened and healed from it, the asshats find me again. Then one of two things happen: I either rip them a new one with my words and get away by physically fight off their advances, or (on the few times they find me when I'm drunk), they do whatever they want with as much consent as a blackout drunk person can give, and leave.
I know I’m about to get shit on for admitting I have bad boundaries or how much of a simp I am in love but it’s whatever. My heart’s just closed off for good now. I’m living vicariously through you Swoozie

W swoozie-I had a similar situationship where I knew it was wrong and I didn’t really want it to happen. I felt so guilty that I ended up telling them and we eventually got back together. Your video just reminded me of how hard that struggle is but no matter what it teaches you a lesson to be loyal and honest with others, because it will catch up to you in the long run.

Being in a situationship is so difficult! On one hand, you’re single and free to do what you want. On the other hand, you feel a bit guilty when you see others. In addition, if they see other people, you do feel hurt and a bit like you’re allowing yourself to be cheated on. The best decision I ever made was getting out of a situationship. At the ending of the day, you either want to be with me or you don’t. There’s no in between.

Relationships and “love” are hard enough to navigate as is, so it’s always important to define the boundaries/lines/structure that both parties want to adhere to. If you don’t want messy/red flag behavior that you keep gaslighting away because you’re lonely/trying to fulfill societal expectations/goals of “completing” your life, this is something you want to reflect on.
It sounds like situationships are just romantic/committed relationships without the tag…which is just going to lead to messiness/toxic drama. If it’s an open relationship or casual one both parties consent to, then that should be made clear. A lot of what you have spoken about in past relationship/drama videos indicates that you want a long term committed relationship while the other party seeks attention/loses interest when you show interest or have trust issues due to past partners.
Communication is key for all of this (be it talk about baggage, trust, boundaries). Mutual respect comes from an open, honest relationship. In the case of this video, I don’t know if you and your partner discussed things/laid it out in the open, but I suspect that a lot of the issues you both faced ended up unresolved because both of you ran away from addressing anything important. Don’t get me wrong- it’s tough! People aren’t really taught this…instead they’re taught to avoid and cope through mediums that end up becoming addictions/patterns for red flag behavior.
Another thing I’d like to note is: value yourself better and know what you’re looking for/willing to accept. People like content creators end up (intentionally/not) putting their self-worth into the hands of others (e.g. audience, potential partners, sponsors, etc) since their job largely depends on it. You’ve already shown that space you’re worth it, so now it’s time to show yourself that too! You shouldn’t constantly chase people who won’t emotionally and physically commit if that’s what you’e looking for and you’ve made it crystal clear.
I also challenge you to ask yourself: do you want a hot girl who feels her worth is also dependent on how many people’s attention she can hold/one that requires you “prove” your faithfulness every second OR do you want a cool girl who you can lean on and she can lean on you whether it’s good times, bad times, hard times- whatever? Your relationship patterns have a certain tendency, so I can only guess how and why they end up not working out (maybe I’m wrong). But this is just my two cents, my observation. Been a long time viewer and hope you get what you deserve/what you’re really seeking ❤ Thanks for sharing. Hope I didn’t come off as a know-it-all ass/intrusive mf 😅
